The restaurant is a beautiful place to visit. The food is outstanding and the service is always wonderful. Very limited beer selection.
WE HAD A VERY UNFORTUNATE EXPERIENCE THIS PAST CHRISTMAS EVE. WE HAD BOOKED A RESERVATION WEEKS AHEAD FOR 6 OF US FOR 7:30. WE WAITED AN HOUR TO BE SEATED AND WHEN WE FINALLY WERE SEATED WE DISCOV ERED THE WAIT WAS CAUSED BY THE OWNER OCCUPYING OUR TABLE. WHEN MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW MADE THE RESERVATION SHE MADE IT VERY CLEAN THAT MY SON IS A VEGETARIAN AND OUR TWO GRANDCHILDREN DON'T EAT MUCH IN THE WAY OF MEAT, FISH ETC. WE WERE ASSURED THAT A PASTA AND VEGETABLE DISH COULD BE MADE FOR OUR SON AND THE KIDS COULD HAVE PASTA. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE! OUR WAITER LACKED ANY ENERGY OR ENTHUSIASM WHATSOEVER. HE SEEMED VERY ANNOYED AT OUR REQUEST; AND AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION BASICALLY TOLD OUR SON HE COULD "JUST HAVE A SALAD" OR A "PLATE OF VEGETABLES"!!! HE ACTUALLY SAID "WE HAD A VEGAN HERE ONCE AND HE ATE CHUTNEY"!!! WHAT? THE WHOLE THING WAS VERY BIZARRE. OUR GRANDCHILDREN WERE GIVEN A CHILD SIZE PORTION OF HERB FETTUCCINI WITH BUTTER! WHICH THEY DISLIKED.
THE WAITER INSISTED THAT ANOTHER PASTA COULD NOT BE MADE. THE WAITER AVOIDED US THE ENTIRE REST OF THE DINNER HAVING OTHERS SERVE US MORE BREAD AND WATER.
WHEN THE BILL CAME THERE WAS A CHARGE OF $56 FOR THE TWO CHILD SIZED PORTIONS OF FETTUCCINI. MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW REQUESTED TO SEE THE MANAGER WHO WOULD NOT COME OUT AND SPEAK WITH US. THE WAITER CAME BACK OUT AND REDUCED THE COST OF THE FETTUCCINI SOMEWHAT.
OUR SON BASICALLY HAD A SMALL SALAD AND BREAD FOR CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER!
OBVIOUSLY WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THE CARVERSVILLE INN.
PS: MY DISH WAS THE CATCH OF THE DAY AND IT WAS JUST SO-SO.
Great food and service
Great restaurant with a lovely "old" ambiance being in such an old dwelling. Service and food were outstanding. Very romantic setting and perfect for celebrating our wedding anniversary.
dine here frequently always very good varied menu with speciials excellent sal;ads peking duck and salmon very dnjoyable
Food was great and service was excellent! The waitress was very knowledgeable not only about the food but also the area. She made it an even better experience.
Server was very good. Needed better backup.
Shorthanded for number of tables. Outside dining was very pleasant even with the heat.
Thank you for the reasonably priced wine list.
Food was excellent. Service was extremely slow, as it appeared that there was only one server and an assistant on shift to handle the entire restaurant, including outside and bar area. She was so swamped, the bartender was running drinks to the tables. Not sure where the manager was in all of this. Disappointed in that respect but the meal was delicious.
Good ambiance in an historic building. Service was a little slow initially. Food was excellent.
Caesar salad is best in area but may have too much dressing for some. Many, many items to chose from and in variety of sizes.
House Chardonnay was excellent - best value is flask that serves 3 generous glasses for $20 rather than $12 per glass.
Excellent food and service. Salted caramel ice cream was not home made. That is the best, but I know it is not always a choice. Your home made caramel ice cream is the best ever.
dine here often always enjoyable, reccomend rack of lamb, salmon other items on menus and salads always good, very friendly and efficient staff
Our sever was great. Neither one of us liked the Lobster Bisque. We broght it home thinking our son would like it. He didn't like it either.
The weather was beautiful. It's just loud sitting there.
Had reservations for 7:00 for 5 people.Showed up at 7 and had to wait 15 min in the hall to be seated at our table which we could see was empty and set. One place setting had to be removed as we had one cancellation. From there on, service was slow and disorganized. Food was served good and hot and everyone enjoyed their meal. Lighting could be a little brighter so you can read the menu. Was a bit pricey in my opinion but knew that before we arrived. Nice old inn in a nice setting with good food but probably won’t go back anytime soon.
Menu is excellent. Had dinner earlier in the week & had to come back for Sunday Brunch. Out of the way location is worth the trip. Service is rather slow, do not visit w/o the time to linger.
The food was exceptional. My husband and I shared two different appetizers, each had an entree and shared dessert. Each course was better than the last. The lamb chops were truly exceptional. The atmosphere is very Bucks County and quaint. We will definitely be back!
Nice welcome, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Really good food and generous portions.
Food was uneven - either too heavily salted or under-spiced. Dishes were good but not great.
We went to the Carversville Inn for lunch, at the time we were the only people sitting eating outside. The food was very nice and they were kind enough to accomodate our children and to help to keep them entertained before our food arrived. We would recommend and I am sure we will go again.
Excellent presentation of “small plates”. Ample portions nevertheless. Caprese salad, lobster roll & baby lamb chops were done to perfection. Server was attentive despite waiting on 4 tables at once.
Been here many times and food is always excellent. We are locals. Historic building in Bucks County. Only downside this visit was an obnoxiously loud party of six in the room some of whom had obviously had a few too many and staggered thru the doorway of our dining room when exiting. Glad to see them leave!
The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent! I can't wait to go back!
Went here on a whim. Kids decided to go to the shore for the weekend, so my wife and I decided a date was in order. Our usual "go to" place was booked so decided to look for something new. Not even sure how we found the Carvesville inn, but it was an absolute homerun. The atmosphere is terrific, reminisent of places that used to be common in Bucks 25 years ago. Old building with small rooms, making it very intimate. The people were gracious, welcoming and friendly, especially our server who couldn't do enough for us. Food was also outstanding, plentyful and HOT. What else can i say? Thisplace checks all the boxes. We will be going back soon
Carversville Inn is a great country restaurant. We loved it.
This place has been a favorite for awhile when in New Hope. Wonderful old building, easy parking, great service and what has to be the best duck entree I've ever had, second to none. Love the escargot, great gazpacho, terrine for starters with a list of entrees that has something for everyone. Never had a single mediocre dish here - consistently excellent.
2 out of 6 meals poor. Others mediocre. Service was sporadic. The location is great and the only thing to recommend. I came from California, my daughter from Brooklyn and my son from Michigan to visit my brother in Doylestown. I treated. We were all together and this restaurant is NOT 4.5 stars. It is 2 stars.
Just make sure your back is not to the air conditioner.
Enjoying the outside patio on a lovely summer evening 🌅
We usually have a great meal and service but service as poor and food was just ok. Disappointed.
We were recommended to The Carversville Inn specifically for the lamb and duck dishes, which is what we ordered. Our appetizers were the escargots and the diver scallop. The escargots were our favorite part of the meal - delicious! The diver scallop was unique in its flavor combinations, however, the garnishes were cold and the scallop was just warm by the time it got to the table. I would have liked the dish served hot, as the escargots and our entrees were. The lamb flavor was a little overpowered by the rosemary for my liking - I was commenting to my date that it is the kind of lamb dish that would make someone who has never tried lamb fall in love with it, because the gamey flavor was well masked by the sauce. The lamb was perfectly done. My duck was delicious but suffered from overcooking - duck should be done medium rare. I was expecting this when I asked the waitress about the temperature (she did not ask me how I liked it cooked, but did ask my date about the lamb). She explained that everyone loves the duck and the chef cooks it perfectly. If you like well done duck, then I agree - it was cooked perfectly and the fat rendered beautifully, which is tough to do. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and will go back - asking for the duck medium rare next time. We did not have room for any sweets - the portions were generous. Espresso served with a twist of lemon which is always appreciated. The cappuccino was also very good. I wish the seating were more comfortable, but the old building and rooms gave the place character. Next time we'll sit out on the lovely patio.
Great food. Very enjoyable time on the outside porch.
The wait staff was amazing. Extremely friendly and accomadating.
Great Food and location we have biked to the country store many times but this was our first time having dinner at the Inn. We will definitely be back
We were celebrating a birthday and all five of us had a wonderful meal. From appetizer to dessert the food was excellent. From the bartender to the hostess to the waitress we had great service and would definitely recommend this restaurant. The only negative was the noise level and was hard to hear at times.
Ate outside, beautiful. Food was wonderful!
Excellent service! I cannot tell you just how delicious that braised short ribs of beef is. It is SO tender, that you do not even need a knife to cut it. Keep it on the menu! Dessert was custom made for me and was superb.
Our local favorite. Nice selection of seafood; GREAT staff, wonderful ambiance.
Excellent food always fresh and well presented. The Endive Salad and the Smoked Salmon appetizer are my favorites. My partner had the Andouille Sausage Hash looked and tasted great.
Very pleasant Fathers Day
We went for Father's Day as a last minute reservation. The atmosphere is nice and warm. The food is okay (not a great value for the $$). My husband had to return his entree and they happily accepted his request but it is always awkward having to wait for your meal when your family is already done eating theirs. We understand it was Father's Day but the restaurant was pretty empty at the time we were there (11am). I really enjoy the location and if we sat outdoors it would have been a nice view of the tiny town. Not sure if we would go back as the cost for the food seemed high but the food wasn't bad, just not up to par. Maybe it was a fluke on that particular day though.
