The Carriage House

Food was great. Service was great. Venue was outstanding.

Twice in two months, I have enjoyed a special event dinner at the Carriage House Restaurant on Houmas House Plantation grounds. Both times were excellent experiences for all involved. The food is great! I highly recommend the Mango Crabcake appetizer. The staff is friendly and attentive. The attached Turtle Bar is a fun high-end cocktail experience that is worth doing but beware of the high prices. The price of the food at the Carriage House is quite reasonable and the entre portions are large enough for two. I will definitely come back more often. The grounds are gorgeous and the decor inside of the Carriage House is exceptional for a restaurant. You are aestheticaly reminded that you are dining in a historic plantation home. Overall a really enjoyable experience. Make reservations and go.

Houmas House is an excellent mid-point for New Orleans people to meet up with Baton Rouge people (It's quite a bit closer to Baton Rouge) The food at the Carriage House is always top-notch. It's a large dining room so easily social distanced . Plan to go early so you have the time to stroll the beautiful grounds (still blooming in January) or check out the new museum about life on the river.

This was our 3rd year at Houmas House for Xmas Eve and we will definitely be back. Beautifully decorated grounds for picture taking. Food was amazing, especially the steak, wine was delicious, and server was available but not overbearing. A perfect night with the family

This is our new favorite restaurant without a doubt! The food was so flavorful and perfectly paired. The view on the way to the restaurant wasn’t too bad either. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back:)

Very nice dining experience. The dragonfly biscuits served were cold and probably day old. They certainly weren't fresh. The price of food versus quality and quantity of portion received was questionable, but overall a very unique dining experience and I enjoyed my visit and will gladly return.

Houmas House was a great place to have an early Christmas celebration with my family. It was very nicely decorated and the gardens are wonderful for a stroll. The new museum is outstanding - I only wish I had had more time - we need to make another trip- maybe a guided tour? The Carriage House was a wonderful restaurant, beautifully decorated with lovely furniture. The food was good. The fleur de Lis biscuits were exceptionally good. We’ll be back.

I would recommend Houmas House to anyone that was looking for a delicious meal in an absolutely beautiful setting. It is perfect every time we have gone.

Great food and service!!! But the noise level was extremely high. We were seated at the big table and could not hear others in our party.

Wow, what a beautiful setting! Elegant yet comfortable and inviting. We had their Grits and Grillades and the Steamboat Eggs, all was delicious and very filling with juices, the BEST coffee, biscuits and jam.

The food, service and Christmas decorations were wonderful. We ate lunch then walked the grounds and came back for dessert. I highly recommend.

First time visiting. Stayed on the grounds , each meal was delicious and had great service. Will make this one of our regular choices from now on.

The Carriage House is a lovely place to experience a very elegant and well crafted dining experience. The Christmas decorations are exquisite and added to the ambience and festivities. This is a must return!

Sale of Napa Castle

This was our first time at The Carriage House and it did not fail to impress us! Everything about our experience was outstanding. The food, the service, the setting, just everything was perfect! We will definitely be returning!

Service need to improve. They try to rush you to order and not very tended too.

I went there to celebrate my daughter and I ‘s birthday. The food was outstanding. Make sure to get the pumpkin curry bisque. It’s unbelievable.

Great place to eat. Food was very good at an appropriate price. We must have been there on a special lunch day. A couple of groups were loud. To small a restaurant for loud group gatherings.
Overall, a lovely place to eat outside of the city.
