The Carolina Room- The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa Ratings and Reviews
We didn't have a car and found it hard to get a Uber on the island. So our choices were limited to what the hotel had to offer. But this was a great choice. Service was great!!!! Nice seafood selection. We would eat here again when we come back to the hotel.
Staying at the Westin resort. Wanted an "easy button" option after day in the sun but wanted some finer options than View 32 which is great for a casual outdoor bar/restaurant experience overlooking the resort and ocean. Carolina room was a little empty because of the awesome weather which I assume pushes folks toward outdoor dining but we loved it. Server was very friendly. I had the swordfish, she had the shrimp and crab linguine. Swordfish was great. She said she enjoyed her pasta. Would recommend for more upscale experience on the island.
Absolute top marks for food. Located in one of Starwood's largest hotels - I stayed there many times before becoming a neighbor, I've eaten at this restaurant many times. I think it is often grossly over-looked by locals as an option and based upon how busy they are for dinner, hotel guests may just choose to leave the reservation to go out and eat. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and efficient.
I have several favourite dishes and always enjoy eating here. The Pork Chop and Duck Breast are often in the final three that I choose my dinner from.
If I were to make one suggestion, since I've been eating at this restaurant for years, it is to please rotate the menu more.
I came here for my wife's birthday during the offseason. How I've never eaten here is a mystery, because after one dinner service, this has become my favorite restaurant. The food here is comparable to several Michelin starred restaurants I've eaten at. I ate all of my food, and sampled my wife's. Patrick was the host for the evening. He was knowledgeable and polite. James was our server and he was very good. The food was reasonably priced and the quality was beyond expectation. This is a must eat destination if you come to HHI. During the tourist season, reservations are recommended.
Person making the omlets in the morning does an amazing job. Service is some of the beat. Wait staff excellent in both experiences. Smoothies on breakfast buffet are fantastic. Surprised this restaurant really does not have a view of the ocean. You need to wait until. 5 pm to go to the bar to have drinks. If I owned the place I would have the restaurant in the bar are and the bar hidden in the back where the restaurant is. Poor design in my opinion.
The food was delicious and portions plentiful!
What made our experience more enjoyable is the host Patrick. He was very personable and eager to accommodate and gave us a good overview of Hilton Head for us first timers!
The waiter also put a very nice plate of cheesecake chocolates and other sweets to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. He did an outstanding job!
This is a nice restaurant inside of the Westin. I would not choose it unless I was staying there or very close by, but it is very convenient when inside the resort. My wife enjoyed her dinner, and they had a Succotash vegetarian dish for me. The menu is limited, and could be expanded, but we both found items to order.
The food was fresh and fantastic, though it does come at resort prices since this is a resort! The service was exceptional with all staff members extremely friendly and attentative. The menu is somewhat limited though it does cover all bases. The seafood pasta was delicious though a little heavy, as was the She-crab soup. The ahi tuna sandwich was very fresh and tasty. Will come again due to the fine food and convenience.
I really could not find anything to praise here. The pricing is far too high for flavorless food. Salads started at $18 and the tomatoes were lacking taste. We had to send part of our dinner back because it was cold. I eat out all over the country and rarely pan a restaurant. This is one I would suggest you skip.
After a long day of travel, my family decided that we would rather stay at our hotel, rather than explore Hilton Head. The host greeted us warmly and gladly accommodated our seating request. Despite sitting by the window, not much could be seen of the shoreline at that time of day. I started with the she crab soup, which was very good. I then tried the blackened grouper sandwich, which was a tad greasy. My wife had the Cobb salad, which came with cucumbers, despite her request that they be left off, and the avocado had started to turn brown. The best dish was the roasted chicken served with rice, and my son devoured every last morsel of it. So, in the end, this is a fine choice if you are near the Westin, and do not want to stray far.
I read reviews of this restaurant that suggested it was very good. My husband, daughter and I were very disappointed in the food. However, our 6-year old granddaughter loved the chicken fingers and fries from the children's menu. My daughter and I had the "chef's inspiration" which sounded very good "red snapper with sauteed scallops and a variety of fresh vegetables". We were convinced the fish was NOT red snapper -- too oily and thick to be be red snapper and overcooked. My husband had what was described as the best thing on the menu -- red trout. He said it was only "so-so". We chose this restaurant mainly because it is adjacent to the resort where we are staying. The convenience was not worth the meal and it was expensive.
The new weekend "Farm and Sea to Table" menu is fantastic! We have been disappointed over the years with the restaurant but this menu is fresh, local, sophisticated and delicious - especially the courses leading up to dessert. The new space is comfortable and date night worthy. Hands down our best formal dinner ever in Hilton Head. Locals - make the trip. It's worth it.
