This was the 2nd time I have been to the Carlile Room, and while I would definitely return, I felt like the server kind of forgot about us at the end of our meal. We had finished our food and wanted to see the dessert menu, but the server didn't even look in our direction as she passed several times. She was friendly enough, just not attentive in the end. The food, however, was wonderful.
Very interesting brunch menu with something for everyone. The tumeric pasta was excellent. Four of us had different dishes and all enjoyed our meals.
The grits and pork belly was delicious!
I had received a gift card for my brother for any Tom Douglas Restaurant from my brother and decided to use it for my anniversary. I took a look on line and had been to some of his Restaurants but not the Carlile Room and was excited to see it get a 2019 Diner's Award. We were pleased with the ambiance and the Menu. We did the Rainbow plate for appetizer. Outstanding!! We each had a cocktail, both superb. She had the New York Strip and I did the Coho. Both excellent. Then decided to take an entre home for the kids. We did the house special pasta dish which couldn't have been better. We also chose a couple of desserts. She did the Cherry coke chocolate cake and I did the peach cobbler. Winners!!
The restaurant has great food and they also have great service.
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. They really do some extraordinary things with seasonal, organic, local foods. The vegetarian dishes were particularly creative. Who would think to combine donut peaches with goat cheese and beets? What about stuffing a pair of bell peppers with a lentil concoction and then setting it on a bed of baba ghanouj? The textures, flavors, and delightful surprises were many. I was also very impressed with the wine recommended. It’s my new favorite restaurant.
This restaurant was recommended on the basis of the chef’s reputation, and we weren’t disappointed. The Duckfat Hushpuppies alone are worth the trip—a decadent and delicious (and definitely shareable) appetizer. The stuffed squash blossoms were not quite what we had in Rome, but the accompanying ricotta dumplings more than compensated. We thought that the harissa overpowered the otherwise succulent chicken; we’d have preferred it on the side. Our server was attentive and helpful.
Great for people who want a plant based diet. We ordered the giant rainbow plate, which is 5 different vegetarian appetizers, all of which were quite wonderful and very creative. We also ordered a pasta dish with a tumeric sauce--again unusual and delicious. And the desserts were marvelous. The place is very casual and the service was casual but very efficient and friendly.
Excellent restaurant. Food is good, nice ambience friendly service.
What a wonderful restaurant! We came there once, and had such a great evening, we came back again the very next night! Our server, Erin, was the best!
My most frequented restaurant in Seattle as a local. Food is always good. It seems the ingredients are very fresh. Servers are always friendly. For some reason every time I’ve come the place hasn’t been packed and I will always have a seat right away.
Fantastic place for a meal anytime! The menu is well balanced with several options and specials for the theater. Great place to come to before or after going to the Paramount in downtown Seattle.
For starters, the pho fries are amazing! They are cooked well with a fantastic pho sauce and toppings. For the mains, the steak was cooked to perfection and has a great taste. The creamed corn complimented the steak for a perfect pairing. In addition, the burger is juicy and and cooked well. The bun is toasted and keeps its crispness. If you like grits, they paired well with the burger for something different on the side. The dessert was a theater special and was amazing and very creative. Last but not least, the martini was fantastic before dinner and they have a wide selection of great drinks on the menu.
Better yet, they have a late night happy hour with a hunters breakfast I’ll have to try sometime.
We were seated immediately after checking in with the hostess. We had a reservatiion and the place filled up quickly. We had brunch and all the dishes were fantastic.the cocktails were also tasty and they had a very large mimosa bottle that served 4 of us twice! We decided to stay after and have another round of cocktails before the play. It was a great meal .
We enjoyed the food and our server James was very professional & nice
Show at the Paramount
Excellent food and exceptional service! They allowed us to return and pick up our dessert after the show we saw at the Paramount.
We often eat brunch at The Carlile Room before a Sunday matinee at the Paramount Theatre, just across the street. It is consistently delicious and the servers are always attentive.
We went for brunch before a show at the paramount. Everything was quite good, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is the menu was a little limited. Fortunately we all found something we liked.
Four of us went after we saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory across the street at the Paramount. We shared a rainbow platter which is an assortment of small plates of delightful vegetarian dishes, my favorite was the roasted beet and grilled peach with goat cheese. My husband and I shared a cheese board as well that had the best Bleu cheese I’ve ever had as well as a goat cheese and a creamy talaggio cows milk cheese. My friend and her daughter shared an impossible burger which is surprisingly meaty in flavor. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. She was also funny. Some people may find this restaurant to be too expensive but we thought everything was well worth the cost. It is now one of my favorite places to dine.
My favorite Tom Douglas restaurant! The food is always delicious and service is superb and accommodating. Love bringing my out of town guests here.
Our favorite restaurant in Seattle. Food is amazing, always several vegetarian selections. Beautiful atmosphere, attentive service.
Good food not a huge variety but good quality!! The service was amazing
First time at the Carlile room. Chose it because it was near our friends hotel. Was impressed with the food, drinks and service.
I found the salad and fritters oversalted, but our two mains were quite good. My biggest complaint was the service. Very nice waiters, but they got our two dinners wrong -- twice. And made no modifications on our bill. Offering to compensate for the inconvenience would have gone miles to up my review. And I was required to pay the 20% tip as it is now included in every bill.
Nice atmosphere, good food, great service. Will definitely bring friends here.
Four friends and I ate at the Carlile Room right before going to see a stand-up act next door at the Paramount. The service was friendly and timely. The food was excellent. Most of us got the burger, one friend got the cod and one got the beet salad. Everything was delicious. I think most of us plan to come back to the Carlile Room soon. Thanks!
The Carlile was great! The service was outstanding, they really went above and beyond the norm to make sure our meal was perfect. Excellent vegan and vegetarian options, really nice beer selection too!
Great experience, food and service. Always our go to place in Seattle.
A great brunch place. Friendly efficient staff and great brunch options.
Absolutely fabulous experience. Great food, beautiful restaurant and location. My waitress went out of her way to make my experience uniquely memorable. Very grateful for having visited.
We eat here often. The food is interesting and always well prepared. Servers are super friendly and always willing to accommodate. Food quality is outstanding. Always a great meal and good time.
This was the 2nd time we have been here, and we really like it. Our waitress was OUTSTANDING, and the food, good. Our friends who went with us LOVED their meals - and I am sure they will be back, as will we.
Great spot to visit prior to any show located at the Paramount theater. Fantastic staff (Shout out to James!!!) and great food. The giant rainbow plate (mini portions of 5 of their veggie apps) is a must & can double down as a (large) entree. The "smaller" entree sizes do not disappoint & the drinks are very well executed. Bar is first come first serve and can easily be packed to capacity, noise levels rise quickly due to (usually) excitement prior to or after shows (in this case Brit Floyd), definitely somewhere to check out even if just for drinks!!!
Had a wonderful evening, Ann helped me with a cab after the dhow at the Paramount which just made me so much more relaxed.. Had a couple of beers and a cheese plate.. watched the Seattle ambiance,, was a lovely Birthday, thanks all at the Carlile
My family and I went before seeing Wicked!
Pre show dinner...fantastic. Fava Beans and Morels, Pho french fries. Yum!
We went following a Sunday matinee at the Paramount. We had the stuffed baby squash flowers and radiatore pasta. The food was well-prepared, and the service was excellent. We had a window table, and enjoyed watching the pedestrians without feeling like we were in a fishbowl.
This was the second time we've been to The Carlile Room. This go round, I'd made reservations a couple of months in advance (because of its location, it gets crowded with theater goers). This night, traffic was horrid trying to get to Seattle. The staff had held our reservation (because we'd called), were friendly, fast and accommodating even though the place was crowded. The orders were taken quickly, the food arrived shortly and by the end of dinner my stress was gone and we entered into the rest of the evening in a positive frame of mind. That was completely because of how awesome Carlile's staff is - from the front desk to the servers to the manager.
I enjoy that the chefs create menus that are inspired by whatever show is going on at the theater. The regular menu has adequate choices without being overwhelming as well. The prices are along the lines of other higher-end restaurants in the city and the quality is as well. I'm fairly sure this will be our "go to" each time we catch a show, and become part of our evening on the town.
Great place to eat and enjoy a different menu. Food was outstanding. Not the fastest service - we sat for 15 minutes before asked for our drink order. Went there before a show at the Paramount. Arrived at 5:45 (ontime), we were seated right away but the wait for service was not very good. Didn't get out of there until 7:20pm and we were not sitting around chatting. We will go back because the food and drinks are OUTSTANDING! But we will go at least 2.5 hours before a show or go without any later plans.
