Contemporary American
The Carlile Room is Tom Douglas’ 13th restaurant in Seattle. With references to the explosive vibes of the late-sixties/early-seventies in its décor and classic seventies-era lounge cocktails, The Carlile Room presents a thoroughly modern and progressive menu with “plant house” features, and our favorite local meats. Located across from one of Seattle’s storied performance halls, the Paramount Theatre, The Carlile Room will cater to pre and post-theatre crowds with shareable plates and a hearty late night menu.

I don’t miss an opportunity to eat or grab a drink here. Service is always good, and the food excellent. This has become my ECCC lunch hack, as it’s close to the convention center but off the radar for most. Paid off again this year, with plenty of open space - but I’d made a reservation just to be on the safe side!

When I’m in Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con (I’m local), I make sure to book myself a table by myself for my Momcation. The Duckfat hush puppies are my favorite! The cheese platters are amazing and they always have a great by the glass Cab Sav for me. They are a Seattle gem.

As usual, The Carlile Room delivers THE BEST hamburger in Seattle! Charred and crunchy on the outside,
pink and tender on the inside. We always order it in a lettuce "bun", which is messy but fun to eat. Our waiter, James, responded to our request to lower the great, but too loud music, by lowering it just the right amount.

Food was excellent. Brunch food here is always quick service and the ingredients are top shelf. The Carlisle room has the finesse to serve great vegetable dishes, which are hard to find elsewhere.

Wonderful dinner before show at Paramount. The Veggie Sample Platter is fabulous. Scallops small plate $18 was a little high priced for 2 scallops (cut in half). They were delicious though. Good drinks and wine list. Great service and atmosphere. We will be back.

Skip the overpriced and tough filet mignon and just go for the rainbow plate. Veggies are king here, as is the Old Fashioned.

Fantastic waitperson, very helpful and knowledgeable about food allergens on the menu, perfectly timed to get us to the theatre (if you follow the waitstaff advice on that), wonderful variety of delicious food, well crafted cocktails and so many well prepared vegetables. Such a gem of a restaurant.

Very loud. The food was interesting and well prepared. Service was great. Cocktails were good and wine pours were reasonably priced. Four cocktails, five glasses of wine and a glass of beer. Three appetizers, two half portion mains and a burger. Party of four, $300 you including tax and tip, 20 percent tip on bill+tax. Convenient to Palace Theater.

ALWAYS SO GOOD! One of the things I like about this place is that they really do a great job with both meats and vegetables. Veggie dishes get to be their own star. Some of their appetizers and small plates are just mind blowing with how they crush it with brussel sprouts or sun chokes. And I still had a killer steak. Also the vibe and the drinks are great.

The food was delicious. Much larger portions than anticipated. Our server was the only negative. She left us without ANY service for over an hour, wine glasses empty, plates to be cleared. Apparently the server
knows she will get a good tip whether or not she lifts a finger since a high 20% was included in the bill. I am a 20% tipper but not when service is absent.

The house made potato chips were stale as was the plantain appetizer and arrived so quickly after we ordered they must have been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. The rotisserie chicken was supposed to be half a chicken but it must have been from a miniature chicken because it was so small. The service was pretty good but when a 20% surcharge is added to my bill benefiting the whole staff I expect freshly made high quality food which we did not experience on this visit.

Start with the "Book of Booze" and you'll be fine. A great way to try all of the veggie apps is to order the sampler platter... Very accommodating to dietary allergies without making me feel like a huge pain in the a**. The service staff is beyond... James is FANTASTIC!!! Highly recommend.

We came in to watch the game prior to attending The Lion King..the hostess was wonderful in setting us up at a table in front of the TVs, the food was delicious and the martinis perfect! Our only disappointment, and we were very disappointed, was with our waiter, very unauthentic, he lacked good people skills for working in a restaurant, and the worst was a snarky, rude comment he made to one of my friends when he asked a simple question... I would go back but request we not have that waiter.

We had brunch and although the prices are a bit steep, the food was good. I was a bit disappointed with the toast- I was expecting crisp pecan bread- I got burnt toast with what tasted like stale cooking oil brushed on it. The steak was delicious though, so I enjoyed that!
