Contemporary American
The Carlile Room is Tom Douglas’ 13th restaurant in Seattle. With references to the explosive vibes of the late-sixties/early-seventies in its décor and classic seventies-era lounge cocktails, The Carlile Room presents a thoroughly modern and progressive menu with “plant house” features, and our favorite local meats. Located across from one of Seattle’s storied performance halls, the Paramount Theatre, The Carlile Room will cater to pre and post-theatre crowds with shareable plates and a hearty late night menu.

Skip the overpriced and tough filet mignon and just go for the rainbow plate. Veggies are king here, as is the Old Fashioned.

Fantastic waitperson, very helpful and knowledgeable about food allergens on the menu, perfectly timed to get us to the theatre (if you follow the waitstaff advice on that), wonderful variety of delicious food, well crafted cocktails and so many well prepared vegetables. Such a gem of a restaurant.

Very loud. The food was interesting and well prepared. Service was great. Cocktails were good and wine pours were reasonably priced. Four cocktails, five glasses of wine and a glass of beer. Three appetizers, two half portion mains and a burger. Party of four, $300 you including tax and tip, 20 percent tip on bill+tax. Convenient to Palace Theater.

Always outstanding brunch, with excellent service. The Carlisle room accommodated my reservation for 8 people without any issue. It's become our go-to brunch spot before catching a show at the Paramount.

ALWAYS SO GOOD! One of the things I like about this place is that they really do a great job with both meats and vegetables. Veggie dishes get to be their own star. Some of their appetizers and small plates are just mind blowing with how they crush it with brussel sprouts or sun chokes. And I still had a killer steak. Also the vibe and the drinks are great.

The food was delicious. Much larger portions than anticipated. Our server was the only negative. She left us without ANY service for over an hour, wine glasses empty, plates to be cleared. Apparently the server
knows she will get a good tip whether or not she lifts a finger since a high 20% was included in the bill. I am a 20% tipper but not when service is absent.

The house made potato chips were stale as was the plantain appetizer and arrived so quickly after we ordered they must have been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. The rotisserie chicken was supposed to be half a chicken but it must have been from a miniature chicken because it was so small. The service was pretty good but when a 20% surcharge is added to my bill benefiting the whole staff I expect freshly made high quality food which we did not experience on this visit.

Start with the "Book of Booze" and you'll be fine. A great way to try all of the veggie apps is to order the sampler platter... Very accommodating to dietary allergies without making me feel like a huge pain in the a**. The service staff is beyond... James is FANTASTIC!!! Highly recommend.

We came in to watch the game prior to attending The Lion King..the hostess was wonderful in setting us up at a table in front of the TVs, the food was delicious and the martinis perfect! Our only disappointment, and we were very disappointed, was with our waiter, very unauthentic, he lacked good people skills for working in a restaurant, and the worst was a snarky, rude comment he made to one of my friends when he asked a simple question... I would go back but request we not have that waiter.

We had brunch and although the prices are a bit steep, the food was good. I was a bit disappointed with the toast- I was expecting crisp pecan bread- I got burnt toast with what tasted like stale cooking oil brushed on it. The steak was delicious though, so I enjoyed that!

The Carlisle Room is our go to spot before the theatre and we have decided it will be our family celebration spot as well. The food...I don’t understand how some people just sit and eat instead of celebrating each spectacular bite of flavors, textures and care that has gone into that bite from the kitchen as well as suppliers of the individual ingredients. Each plate a work of art.

If you are lucky enough to get Malinda as your waitress then your in for a treat! Malinda was a delight, knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and fun. We had a delicious cocktail to start followed by appetizers of beats and the gnocchi. Our entrays were scallops and the pasta which were very tasty!

We were seated on the left side of the restaurant across from the kitchen, so ambience suffered a little bit, but it was fun watching the food leave the kitchen. I was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. The music kept varying in volume which was strange until the wait staff informed us that they had a DJ who was having a little trouble setting up. Fine now that we knew what the issue was. He even took requests. Love the cocktails as much or more than the food. Had the filet which was cooked to perfection. This is my fav res before a show at the Paramount.

We made a reservation before going to an event at the Paramount. We ordered food and appetizers. We got our appetizers. Forty-five minutes later our waitress (who we never saw after order) brought dessert menus. We looked at the menus and back at her and said, "We still haven't received our food." She then said, "Well a lot of people ordered at the same time." Then left. I had to pull another person to our table 15 minutes later and ask where our food was "it should be a few minutes." About 10 minutes later I asked another person who said the same thing. I said, "Our show is in 20 minutes. If food isn't ready now we need to leave." They then brought us the bill for the appetizers and drinks and I said no I didn't think it was right to pay for it as we ordered dinner and waited an hour before being told our food was still not ready. We never got refills on drinks, was never asked for anything else, the whole night was terrible. They ended up comping the whole dinner. We left and got hot dogs. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant again.
