Contemporary American
The Carlile Room is Tom Douglas’ 13th restaurant in Seattle. With references to the explosive vibes of the late-sixties/early-seventies in its décor and classic seventies-era lounge cocktails, The Carlile Room presents a thoroughly modern and progressive menu with “plant house” features, and our favorite local meats. Located across from one of Seattle’s storied performance halls, the Paramount Theatre, The Carlile Room will cater to pre and post-theatre crowds with shareable plates and a hearty late night menu.

Great apps, fresh veg, chicken perfectly roasted. The simple foods are the best. Other dishes are trying to hard sound wonderful but tastes disappoint because they are trying to be too many things at once. Deserts were fresh but underwhelming

We enjoyed another wonderful pre-theatre meal at the Carlile Room, this time a birthday celebration prior to our play at A.C.T. The entire evening was a hit! Old favorites, the duck fat hush puppies and beet quinoa salad were especially delicious. We loved the beautifully prepared cod, grilled asparagus and incredible roasted carrots, too. Everything was seasoned perfectly and presented beautifully. Equally terrific, our delightful server, so gracious and efficient. This is our go-to pre-theatre spot. Period.

Amazing place. If you are a vegan, vegetarian, or carnivore, you will have selections! The tempura asparagus appetizer was AMAZING! The whole table loved that one. I ordered the plater of vegetables and it comes out on a huge tray... each dish on that tray was incredible. They even made them vegan for me. Yum... can’t wait to go visit again!

Their vegetable dishes are the best in the city. As my dining companion said "if I could eat vegetables like this everyday, then I would become a vegetarian". We also had cod which was perfectly cooked. I have never had a bad meal there and intend to keep going back!

We loved our table, our waiter, and the food. Wished there had been a little more "extras" served with the entree. We asked for bread to go with our meal, and that was good. The bill was quite a bit more than we expected. We are happy to pay the 20% gratuity as part of the bill, but feel strongly it should be added in separately, not added after the tax is calculated in.

Great wine and drink menu. Great place to share appetizers as "tapas". Limited main course menu. The price range was a little misleading on the description. Figure $40 minimum. This restaurant would not take a reservation on Open table for more than 6 in a party but we were able to sit more than 6 in ours.

I don’t miss an opportunity to eat or grab a drink here. Service is always good, and the food excellent. This has become my ECCC lunch hack, as it’s close to the convention center but off the radar for most. Paid off again this year, with plenty of open space - but I’d made a reservation just to be on the safe side!

When I’m in Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con (I’m local), I make sure to book myself a table by myself for my Momcation. The Duckfat hush puppies are my favorite! The cheese platters are amazing and they always have a great by the glass Cab Sav for me. They are a Seattle gem.

As usual, The Carlile Room delivers THE BEST hamburger in Seattle! Charred and crunchy on the outside,
pink and tender on the inside. We always order it in a lettuce "bun", which is messy but fun to eat. Our waiter, James, responded to our request to lower the great, but too loud music, by lowering it just the right amount.

Wonderful dinner before show at Paramount. The Veggie Sample Platter is fabulous. Scallops small plate $18 was a little high priced for 2 scallops (cut in half). They were delicious though. Good drinks and wine list. Great service and atmosphere. We will be back.

Fantastic waitperson, very helpful and knowledgeable about food allergens on the menu, perfectly timed to get us to the theatre (if you follow the waitstaff advice on that), wonderful variety of delicious food, well crafted cocktails and so many well prepared vegetables. Such a gem of a restaurant.

Very loud. The food was interesting and well prepared. Service was great. Cocktails were good and wine pours were reasonably priced. Four cocktails, five glasses of wine and a glass of beer. Three appetizers, two half portion mains and a burger. Party of four, $300 you including tax and tip, 20 percent tip on bill+tax. Convenient to Palace Theater.
