The Captain's Table Ratings and Reviews
Made reservations onlinline through Open Table and was promptly seated. Must’ve been understaffed, because it took 30 minutes for food to arrive. Server was polite, but had to be flagged down for beverage refills and other needs. Ribeye steak was great, but all other food overly salty. Menu at restaurant was extremely limited for a casual dining restaurant. Online menu and pricing did not match-up to restaurant menu. Prices of entrees were way high for this quality and dining experience. Would not recommend.
The food was prepared to perfection and tasted absolutely amazing, the staff and servers were fantastic my only problem is the cost I can only afford to eat there once a year or on special occasions my bill was 156.00 total for 2 people but was absolutely worth it.
We have been going to Captains Table for a long time. This is the first time I was disappointed. Not with the food but with the service.. We had a waiter we never saw before. As we watched the waiters that we always see rushing around this waiter had a laid back attitude.. He didn't have a name tag on so I don't know who he was. Our reservations were for 3 at 6:30 but we didn't finish until 8:30 Thankfully I will not let this deter me from going again.. I will just make sure I ask for my favorite Ari..
We chose The Captain's Table to celebrate my husband's 77th birthday. We dined there twice last year and were very happy. However, this year was a disaster! We had a 6 o'clock reservation and we were there a little early and we were immediately seated - that was the last positive thing that happened all night! Our friends arrive about 6:10 to join us. We already had our drinks. When their order arrived, my friends vodka tonic was missing the lemon she requested. Well, ok - really no biggy. It was probably at least 45 minutes before our order was taken. Another 30 or 40 minutes later, our waitress, Chrystal, returned and asked us what our orders were again because it was not clear by what she had written down! We asked her for some bread because by now we were really hungry! Our friend had to get up and go ask another waitress for our bread before that was served. When our meals finally arrived, my meal was completely wrong! She said it was not her fault - that she was given too many tables to handle and it wasn't fair! She placed my order and it did come quickly BUT I had ordered the salmon primarily because it came with lobster risotto - but when my order came it had mashed potatoes instead of the risotto! She did go get me a side of risotto but by then my friends were done eating and I took it home. My salmon was dry and tasteless too. We will never, ever, go back!
This has always been our special occasion place & we came here to celebrate our friend's 52nd anniversary. The night did not start off well because of the hostess, who seemed to have a major attitude. They may want to find another spot for this woman, as she's definitely not the warm & friendly type. She made us wait forever and then finally sat us at a table that had been free the entire time. She almost ruined the night, but our great waiter Ari saved the experience for us all.
He was as pleasant as she was sour(rolling her eyes numerous times). The only glitch was the filet mignon, which was ordered well done and had to be sent back twice...it was almost raw. She ate her meal after the rest of us were finished & I believe that steak should have been "free".
It would have been appropriate for the manager to come out and apologize, but that never happened. We will return again, as the view & sunsets are awesome.
Our reservation was a spur of the moment for 12 people. I was able to secure a table for 6 but not 12 on line. I then contacted the restaurant via telephone and told the young lady I needed a table/ or tables for Sunday. She inquired with her manager and they were able to accommodate us. This followed a retirement party on Saturday. Since the majority of our friends lived in Michigan it was wonderful to be able to spend more time with them.
My dinner was not a 5 by any means. I ordered the prime special. Ask for rare and mine was closer to a medium. My baked potato was warm, not hot enough to melt the butter.
I know I should have sent the whole thing back but there were 5 other people at our table and i didn't want to hold up their dinners. I had already returned my wine because the waiter had told me the one i wanted was not available and he recomended something else. It was not an Italian as I had requested. So finally he came back to the table and he did replace my wine with something else.
We had a 7:00 reservation--we did get there earily-- they did seat us. our service didn't start until 7 and the waiter was not very experienced. there were lots of people in the restaurant when we arrived but very few when we left. It was nearly 9 before we left the restaurant.
IAfter leaving, several people at our table mentioned that their food was cold. Again they decided not send their food back because it thad taken so long for us to be served.

Despite the fact that I made a mistake on my reservation and turned up on the wrong day, the staff was friendly and accommodating. I had the Sea Bass which was delicious....maybe the sauce was a wee bit too sweet. My sister-in-law had the lobster which she said was excellent. My brother had the Scottish Salmon which he said was good not great. All in all, a wonderful experience.
Fish was over cooked, dry and did not seem fresh...frozen is my guess.
Scallops small unpleasant aftertaste, also did not seem fresh.
Vegetables and rice. Stir fried veggies had a peculiar taste, seasonings not to my liking, overwhelmed veggies flavor.
We had been downstairs to Harpoon Harry's the week before with a group of 8 and they did not seat you. They only had two large tables to accommodate us so we had to 'hover' over then which was uncomfortable for both us and those currently using the tables.
The Captains Table had ample tables for larger groups AND reservations can be made either by phone or online. PLUS the view is MUCH BETTER upstairs since you are higher. Food was phenomenal, tasty and visually appealing. Our server was exceptional. All around great dining experience!!
Disappointed when we arrived told no reservations even though I provided a Confirmation #. Two of our table of 4 arrived 5 minutes before us was placed at the reserved table. After an hour of waiting we realize we were 20' apart. Waitress spilled a glass of beer over my lap and dress. Food was cold. We drove an hour to your establishment to meet our friends. We were at the Captains Table last year to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We paid the bill and no apology given. You have a great place we are proud to bring our guests. Just need someone to help me understand what went wrong. Thank you. Sharon Beauvais 289-723-0684
For a seafood restaurant in Florida it was not good at all. Not sure how it's rated 4 out of 5 stars?? Ordered salmon with lobster risotto and my risotto was dried up (sat under heat lamp way too long) was in a glutinous clump that tasted like paste.
There were 5 of us and no one liked their meal. Waiter was great and beer was good.
The food was very good, but we were very disappointed that the Friday Seafood buffet with salad bar is no longer there which was very good. We came on Fridays for the buffet and salad bar. The inexpensive wood-like at the bar is already starting to separate even though it was remodeled in September. We do like the openness of the bar and entrance.
I have been dining at the Captain's Table for over fifteen years. The best feature is the view. The recent light remodeling gives it a decent look. It is basically clean. The people are nice. The food is good at a fair price. We were there for a birthday luncheon. The celebrant enjoyed the complimentary desert.
I ordered a Southern Comfort and was told that the bar did not have any and the bar downstairs didn't as well. The food was adequate but we were seated next to a room that had a loud fundraiser going on. Our waiter paid very little attention to us and I actually had to get up from the table to find him when it was time to get out bill.
The location is wonderful and the view of Charlotte Bay is fantastic.
The rest was adequate at best.
