Disappointed in the new menu. At least offer more traditional sandwiches and salads. Very meager offerings. Come here annually to celebrate three March birthdays. Not next year.
I had friends visiting from Arizona. We thoroughly enjoyed the water front as we dined on the outside balcony.
They were very impressed with my choice for our luncheon location!
Thank you for helping me make their visit most enjoyable!
Good food, outstanding view of the water and boats, good service.
It was very nice.
Love the view and the sunset. We had a delightful evening with great food and friends.
Lunch was a great disappointment. Fish and chips were almost inedible. The crust on the fish was so heavy and thick that it was impossible to find the fish. The cold slaw was ok. The Frech fries were over done.
We had a great time with family from out of town. Food was great.
This was the first time dining at the captains table. There were 4 of us. Ordered surf and turf which was very good, salmon was also very good. Was told about the special which was scallops served on the shell. Very disappointed on the size of scallops it looked like an appetizer and overdone - for 3 dollars more could have had normal size scallops. The restaurant located below had awesome scallops and a good size portion. The waitress did not see the special until it was served and she was embarrassed. When back in town may return for the surf and turf but that would be it. Also we made sure we had dressed accordingly but then seen individuals with shorts and t shirts which I don't mind but you may want to change that information on your website.
Had a great business lunch with awesome service!
Prices are a bit high but overall the food was very good. Kinda noisy for any quiet conversation
Had dinner there on a Sunday at 7PM. Sat outside and enjoyed the wonderful view. Our server was accomodating, attentive, and charming. Our food was very good, we shared a beet salad, I had the Captains Platter & my wife had the Salmon. Highly recommended based on our experience.
Food was good. WE liked the remodel, but missed the Friday Seafood bar.
Would have been nicer if the outdoor heaters worked!
Wonderful food, amazing service, unbelievably gorgeous views. What more could I ask? Oh yes, the special drinks were great too.
I had a fabulous salad with blackened scallops which was over the top delicious...highly recommend. The view is superb, one of the best in Punta Gorda Florida...a spot not to miss.
A busy Friday in March we chose 2 o'clock hoping for less crowded. But it was packed and more noisey than ususl. The view is wonderful, and the service good. However, the flatbread I ordered had too much balsamic on it and was over cooked. My companions ordered the fish platter which also was a bit overdone, with 2 med size filets , a couple of small scallops, and some tiny shrimp. Not up to their normal offering. We will go back when it is less crowded with more attention to the food .
Very nice !!!
Waited to be seated, hostess thought we were not all there. Only 7 people in lobby at time. Switched waiters on us. Food was good, piano music was nice.
Loved our harbor side table on a beautiful day with a delightful waiter and good food.
Recent reviews criticize the service but commend the food. We've dined here every year we've visited PG. The food is still absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh baguette offered when we were seated and then started with the delicate and crispy coconut shrimp appetizer followed by stuffed grouper and swordfish and finished with keylime pie and decaf coffee. All was excellent! Our table service waitress was attentive to the right degree. But, for the 1st time, we'd actually made 7 pm reservations because we've always had to wait in the past. We're not convinced making reservations helps! We had to wait 30 minutes for our table. The manager offered us a complimentary appetizer but they forgot to take it off the bill. The food, fortunately, makes up for these things!
We waited an hour for our food. Charged for bowls of soup when we received cups. Waited longer than we should have for our check.
Very enjoyable place to dine. Good service, good food.
We enjoyed the restaurant. A quieter venue than most tourist area venue and beautiful sunset over the water. We had crab cakes, shrimp and salads and all were quite good.
Good seafood, nice waterfront location. Service was slow but we weren’t in a hurry so it didn’t bother us.
I would NOT recommend this restaurant at any level: decor = outdated, food quality = mediocre at best, food & drink value = completely over -priced! My guest has mobility issues, and security advised us to have server call ahead for transport at end of our meal, and server refused to do so and in fact misrepresented to us he had made the arrangement, when he had not. The hostess had to contact security transport for us.
I will never return to this restaurant again.
This is one of our favorite places in Punta Gorda!
Appetizer was very good
View was beautiful .
Service was horrible. Waitress brought us a drink appetizer and disappeared wrapped up my left over appetizer then run our ticket and never ordered our lunch and disappeared . We had to ask another waitress where our food was. It was a long time so we left.
We liked the restaurant may try one more time w a better waitress.
Bad service, cold food. The manager was very nice, but overall not enjoyable. 2 of us had stomach problems after.
Great view and great ambiance. Fisherman's Wharf a fun place to go.
We had family come to town and wanted to take them to a place with good food and a great view. The Captain’s Table gave us both and more. Everyone’s meal was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive. And the view of the harbor at sunset made the evening perfect.
Ok, food was good, but service was just average.
Make a point in stopping for the,"Captains Platter," which I think is outstanding!
the waiter got our drinks right away but it took over an hour get our to get our food, also the menu was very limited. I would not come back.
Good food. Great view, but food took awhile to get.
We've been in Punta Gorda for two months and searching for the perfect local restaurant. We have found a lot of average food in Punta Gorda but the Captain's Table provided us with superior quality and wait staff. We made a reservation on open table and actually had to change the time – which happened easily on a Wednesday night. There was four of us outside with a 7 o'clock reservation . Omar was our waiter and he was very informative and attentive to our table. Our selections included red snapper , scallops, crab cakes, Caesar and another fish entree that I can't recall. Presentation beautiful. Everyone very pleased. We understand the Key Lime Pie is excellent...
We look forward to returning very soon.
The only negative I can recall is a pontoon boat came into Harpoon Harry's and left their loud speakers on. We didn't let the noise interrupt our wonderful evening.
First time since they remodled. Very nice. Good menu and reasonably priced. Good bar. Will definitely go back.
Fish and chips are excellent. All food at our table was great. Nice view of the water.
We sat outside on a lovely evening overlooking the water. The food was delicious especially the lamb and the tuna tartare . The service was perfect. We had a great time!
Best view of the sunset in Punta Gorda. It's amazing.
Wonderful way to celebrate our Anniversary! Great service and such a nice waitress. Wish I could remember her name
