The Captain's Table
Great food, service and view overlooking Charlotte Harbor.
Very good except needed more staff. Our server was running ragged
Fine food, well-served, as we sat outside looking at the Peace River and passing boat traffic.
Do not spend your money here. Besides the view, every aspect of this restaurant is HORRIBLE. The food was cold and absolutely awful, dinner took well over an hour and a half to even arrive. We had suspicions and almost left.... should have trusted our instincts. Awful.
Super location, food, ambiance and wait staff. Highly recommend.
Wonderful food & plenty of it. We waited quite a while (20 min?) to place our order after receiving our drinks, probably not the server's fault. She (Michelle) was very pleasant. We received our food pretty quickly after ordering. Recommend the salads.
Excellent food reasonably priced with wonderful views
We had a reservation for 6:45. We were not seated until 7:30 when the sunset was about done. The food was good but tepid, a health food violation.
We had 4 couples from up north meet & we had great time!! The food was good & the service was excellent &?you can’t beat the location!!
The restaurant is a little dirty and dated
The buffet was very limited in its selection of foods , some of the food was good but a lot was very mediocre. Oysters and shrimp were worth while but the rest of the small selection was poor to fair. The clams had a smoked taste. Poor showing for what is supposed to be a upscale restaurant. My entire family was very disappointed and won’t be back as the food and the selection was not worth the price
Wasn’t that great. Service was slow. We had to ask someone to serve us after a 15 minute wait.
We meet friends from Sarasota each winter at the Captains Table. Been coming for 7 years. Always good food. Never get past the lobster and grilled cheese sandwich. Grilled on sourdough bread.
Parking situation is horrible
Best grouper sandwich he ever had.
Mahi mahi crusted coconut, pineapple, mango salsa was great!
Would recommend to a friend!
I made reservations for the four of us. Another couple were visiting from Virginia and we were celebrating their 43rd anniversary. A hostess was not at the station when we arrived. Checked in with her when she came a few minutes later. Said another hostess would seat us. Some confusion and the first hostess seated us outside. Waitress finally arrived and took our drink orders. Guests ordered clam chowder when the entrees were ordered. My husband's salad arrived, no soup. Finally, we got the waitress's attention and told her about the soup. It was then brought out from the kitchen. The entree was a long time coming, also. Thank goodness we had bread brought shortly after being seated.
Our waitress was not very attentive either and we may have had better service inside. The Captain's Table has been a "special" place to have a nice dinner, but, unfortunately will have to rethink another visit anytime soon. The food was good but this dinner did not impress our friends. ----and, this was on a Wednesday night and the Captain's Table was not extremely busy!
Captain s table restaurant is at the end of fisherman village. So happy they have valet parking and an elevator. Beautiful view while having lunch.
The setting of The Captains Table was beautiful unfortunately the food has a lot to be desired. Our reservation was for 11:15 15 min after they opened the appetizer that we ordered was cold which didn't start the meal off good. Our waiter was fantastic and did whatever he could to make our meal enjoyable. Sorry to say The Captains Table was overrated.
Appetizers came out far apart, that one was finished before other got theirs. The coconut shrimp were a bit overcooked. Shrimp cocktail were delicious. Steaks were cooked appropriately. Not the best steak for the price (grissle and cut thin), more like an $18 not a $28 steak. The sauce on the steak was tasty and enjoyed. The oysters Rockefeller were great. Lobster ravioli, very rich and one ravioli had no lobster lurking inside. Otherwise was good. Overall, pricey for quality. Had t been here in quite awhile, probably will be the same before we go back. Too many other places with better value for a better meal.
We ate outside. The view is fantastic. The food is ok.
Service was amazing. Our server, Kim, was the best!!
I expected a lot more from this restaurant which overlooks Charlotte Harbor. The service was fast, but maybe too fast. The presentation of the food was lacklustre and disappointing, and our meals were ok. The owners are clearly resting their reputation on the view because I would not go back for the food!
Nothing great about the food
A nice place to eat on the water. Grouper sandwich was the best I've had. Good place to meet between Naples and Sarasota.
The view is wonderful! Our waitress took our order and got us our drinks quickly. Once we got our food, she checked back with us and didn't hover over the table. The food was hot when we got it and it was tasty.
We regard this Luncheon as A Fine Way to visit Punta Gorda !!!!!
Our Friends will be back again
Sincerely , the Group of 4
Our ( 3 of us out of 4 ) "Captains Broiled seafood combo" was VERY greasy / Oily. Grouper was good, but 2 small shrimp and 2 very small scallops, was disappointing.
Our "Corona Draft" beer was VERY disappointing. It tasted BAD. Three of us should have complained at the time. I've drank Corona many times before and it is delicious.
Birthday celebration. Could see the water from any location, which we really enjoyed.
Beautiful views and so nice one can make a reservation. A big plus during season!
Love the location and decor! Enjoyed a beautiful sunset! Oyster duo appetizer was delicious! Our entrees were a bit disappointing—the seafood medley was my choice. All six in our party said their dinners were just warm while one said her fish was cold. She and I both felt our fish was undercooked. She sent hers back and they brought another piece nicely cooked. I ate the shrimp and scallops on my plate, took the fish home to reheat for another meal. Service was very good and we’ll definitely be back!
Server was fantastic. Salads came immediately but then waited 55 minutes for our entrees while people seated after us were nearly finished with their meals. Food, once it arrived, was hot and delicious.
I had a toasted cocnut salad that was really different and delicious. All seafood was enjoyed by the 4 of us.
We had a nice dining experience at The Captain's Table. You're really there for the great view more than the food but I would go again.
A wonderful dining experience. Bobby was very attentive, service was prompt and drinks were great! Food was superb.
The atmosphere was outstanding sitting out on the ocean watching the boats go by and the sun setting. Our waitress was wonderful. The food was fine but not fabulous. We had a wonderful time!
My party all enjoyed their meals. Weather was perfect for sitting outside. We were not rushed as it was early enough before the dinner crowd. The server was ok. He seemed frazzled even though didn't appear to be overwhelmed. We asked for our picture to be taken and had to ask 3 times. Asked for another plate because my salad was so large, wanted to make room for me to cut it. He handed me a bread plate from another table. Not very helpful.
The music playing during dinner was 90’s type , loud and not pleasing to my group. The music was not relaxing or pleasant to listen to. Our server was OK, but did not check back to see how we were doing, did not bring water as requested when we ordered drinks, until we asked her a 2nd time. The food was overpriced for the quality.
Had a wonderful lunch on the back deck on a perfect day.
