Outstanding meal and service! We look forward to dining there again. Great restaurant for a special occasion!
Always an outstanding meal and great service at The Capital Grille. The Server was very polite and accommodating and just a great atmosphere to share some time with family & friends. Can’t wait for the next time!
The entire staff we interacted with was very nice, but Edwin was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the restaurant, dishes and drinks, and made my wife and my 1st time dining experience there incredible. We will definitely return, thanks to him.
A fantastic meal, only surpassed by the outstanding service.
Great experience. Jared was an excellent server.
Took a while to be seated. Food was a bit rushed.
As expected, the Capital Grill never disappoints. A first class restaurant that delivers a first class experience.
For the first time, had to send a steak back because it was cold and over cooked (asked for medium rare)…. But staff was great and got a new steak that was great. Sea bass was great, too.
It was amazing!
Wife and daughter’s birthdays
Traveling with family to DC for a weekend vacation. Sat outside. Great service and great bread basket!
Went there for my son’s 21st birthday, everything was perfect from the food to the service. Made a memorable event even better!
Everything was fabulous ( as usual) !
Flawless as usual! Service is always top notch and super fast. (But not too fast.). Delicious food and great atmosphere make this spot a MUST!!!
We came for a birthday celebration and we were thrilled. The service from Bill was the best we’ve ever had and the food was incredible. This location continues to deliver year after year. Perfect.
Visiting a friend in the area. Great place to get together for exceptional food.
We did the Generous Pour and that was awesome. Love trying new wines. Meal and service were exceptional.
Food was excellent and the service outstanding.
Delicious Steaks. Great service. Ask for Edwin he’s amazing and made our experience the best.
Our server, Manuel Portocarrero was fantastic! The drinks were delicious, the food was amazing (dry aged steak was phenomenal—tender, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked!). Fun way to cap off our D.C. experience!
Our waiter Daniel (I think his name was) was phenomenal … food was also fantastic
It was great. The food was good.
Went for restaurant week food was good. The 3 Course Meal was priced very well, service was a little slow but I’m sure this was due to the high volume.
My hubby and I came here for restaurant week and to celebrate his birthday. The food was amazing and a very good deal. The service was a little bit slow but that’s understandable because of Covid, all restaurants are short staffed. They still did the best they could and we really enjoyed our meals. It’s a very romantic ambiance and quiet. I would definitely go back for other occasions and to try more of their menu.
We had a great restaurant week meal. Every course was great. The wait staff seemed overworked, maybe the restaurant is understaffed at present. 6 out of 7 wines were great, too.
Took the wife for an anniversary dinner. The food was great but it took over an hour to receive our entree's. Our server managed the situation as best he could and comp'd a portion of our meal. Had it not been for the table conversation this could have ruined the evening. Hopefully this is a one time event and not an indication of a drop in standards.
We visited Capital Grill for restaurant week. I was sure that I had verified online that they had a $35 menu, but they only offered a $55 dinner menu. This is a better price than usual, but it's not a lot cheaper than if you just order an entree and a side. Only two sides are ordered on the restaurant week menu, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Although we had a 5 pm reservation and arrived on time, they were out of creamed spinach and didn't offer an alternative except mashed potatoes. My husband had the filet and I had the NY strip. The filet was really good; the NY strip was just okay. The highlight of the meal was the cheesecake. Overall, definitely not worth the money!
Grille is always great
For Restaurant week - The wait was long even though we had reservations for 9:15. Our dinner took 2 hours, and the value of the food could have been better.
We were there for the restaurant week with my wife and the kids, we really enjoyed our dinner.
Celebrated law school graduate in the family with late lunch. As per usual, Cap Grille makes going the extra mile easy. We thoroughly enjoyed lobster salad, Mushroom risotto, parm crusted salmon!)
We found a big piece bacon in our veggie salad. Manager was so cold about and nothing was done to compensate us. Will never go there again.
Food and service were amazing. Went for restaurant week and the price for the food options was such a great deal! Me and my friends enjoyed each course and the environment was really nice. First time here but I will definitely be back!
Great food and service. Intimate space with moderate to low noise level. Good for date night or business meal.
Some of the best steak in the city but what really sets this restaurant apart from the rest is the service. The service staff makes this an experience.
Amazing experience!! Be sure to request Daniel when dining !!
The night was ruined by the fact that Open Table advertised a restaurant week special of $22 (lunch) to $35 dinner but when we got there the price was $55 for the dinner which had a big impact on our bill. Either Open Table or the restaurant should reimburse us for the error. We didn't want to ruin the evening or make a fuss but in the end it soured the experience.
I even made sure to choose restaurants that were advertising $35 and not the few that were advertising $55. I took a screen shot even... (Charlie Palmer which is of the same quality and had a fancier line up of choices was charging $35..)
Visited yesterday during DC restaurant week. Menu selection was pretty ideal. We asked for our steaks Medium but they were more like medium well. I sent my steak back and asked for it to be prepared correctly. The gentleman who brought the food out also agreed that the steaks weren’t medium. Afterwards, a gentleman standing at the front when we walked in came to our table and asked how I wanted it prepared because it was correct in their opinion. I explained it wasn’t medium and explained that I cut into it before sending back. He said ok. 10 min later the same gentleman came back and asked for a third time how I would like the steak prepared but this time he had the plate of steak in his hand. At that point, I became a little irritated because I didn’t know how else to explain that I wanted the steak medium. I rejected his help and I took the plate from him. He explained he wanted to make it right but it didn’t appear that way. I have never had this experience at Capital Grille or any other fine dining establishment. I also noticed that the sides that came with the restaurant week menu, (mashed potatoes and cream spinach) were not as flavorful as they normally are and were kind of watery. However, our waiter and the drinks were great!
Restaurant week was better than ever even with higher prices. Expanded menu was excellent. We were older but vaccinated party of 6 but concerned about soon to be exposed to young not vaccinated grandchildren. The hostess gave us an available small private room. Professional, long term server with excellent trainer. Great dinner to catch up with long time friends and service was exceptional.
The food was amazing! The overall experience was pretty good!
