Took our son out for steak during UMD family weekend. Waited a while for our table, but well worth it. We were in a side room so noise level was low. Food and service fantastic.
Always great food
This was our first time at Capital Grille. We shared the calamari and it was some of the best we've had. For our entries, we both had the ribeye steak. I had the porcini rubbed with aged balsamic sauce and he had the kona rubbed. We ordered them medium and they were both perfectly cooked. Unfortunately for me, my husband preferred my steak over his so we ended up switching plates. I liked them both but I did prefer the porcini rubbed over the kona. We also ordered the truffle fries; they were OK but I only had a few as I wanted the steak more. My husband gorged himself to nearly finish his steak; I boxed more than half of mine. Finally, we ordered their cheesecake and it was delicious. I have had better cheesecake but I've also had much worse. We couldn't finish it so that was packaged and taken home too. Our server was excellent. He seemed to know when his attention was needed and when it wasn't. This place is pricey but, for a special occasion, it's worth it. I did find it a bit too dark inside, though. It was a tad difficult to read the menu.
Food was excellent and the service was great. Ideal spot for a business lunch.
It was the absolute best.
waiter Jared excellent- knew menu well and very accommodating - excellent service
Service when we arrived was wonderful (host and hostess) and waiter (Tom) was terrific!
Food was amazing, great ribeye and crablegs. The service was outstanding, always available but not overbearing.
It was great.

Have been a fan of Capital Grill since it first arrived in. Staff are terrific from the hostess to the servers and the food is consistently great.
Pam our server was absolutely outstanding! Very attentive without being intrusive. The food was wonderful. We will be back.
Very good food and service.
Great food, excellent service and comfortable environment. A great place to become a regular!
I met a longtime business contact for dinner at my favorite restaurant in Washington. It was awesome - as always. We were greeted warmly upon arrival. Service was first class. Our server had the good sense to let us talk when we were chatting, but stopped by at appropriate times to let us order the next course and to see if we needed anything else. We started with Prosciutto wrapped Mozzarella, which was sensational. We had flavorful and crisp Wedge Salads. Then we split a Ribeye and a Filet, so we could taste the two different types of steak. We also had Brussel Sprouts, Asparagus, and a Potato side, which also made for some fantastic leftovers to take home. Everything was first class! Sincere thanks to the managers and team working that evening for another awesome dinner!
Best restaurant I have been ti in DC!! Treated like riyalty from the moment we walked in the door. Fiid is fabulous and I can't say enough about our waiter Eric Hovey. Can't wait to go back.
My last experience was great, as always. But I will never again order the rack of lamb. Impossible to eat, and the stuff on the top added nothing. Far inferior to the lamb chops which used to be my all-time favorite. Ditch the rack and give me my chops!
86 birthday for mother
Went here for a 30th. Wait staff was attentive, food was delicious, wine list was extensive
Service: Very attentive but not overbearing. Went above and beyond to celebrate my wife and I’s anniversary with a delicious dessert.
Food: Ribeye was tender and full of flavour. Scallop main was delicious and generous in portion size.
Ambience & decor: Beautifully decorated with wine cellars and rich colors; complimented by the buzz of people that add to the atmosphere.
We had a group of 6 and we all had steaks and everyone last one of them were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing!! The family sides were plentiful and really good!! This place is pricey (50.00+/person, but worth every penny!! Must try while in DC. Thanks Capital Grille, for a great 18th birthday dinner for our daughter!!
Clubby feel, great location & service - but felt over-priced and steaks were over cooked which was disappointing,
Good food, nice location, and good service. Rich food.
The ambiance, service, and food are always top notch! Don't drink but understand there's an expansive wine list to please everyone.
The staff, food and ambience are always top-notch. It is always consistently good
the service and food are consistently wonderful - I would recommend the Cap Grille in DC to anyone!
Very special two year anniversary
Great food as always. Service good. Wine expensive but good selection.
Old school Washington at its best. Good food and good service. Exactly what you should expect at this fine dining establishment.
The prosciutto wrapped mozzarella was amazing. Our dinner was very pricey (with my budget maybe not for someone elses, but the food was amazing.
Always great. The best Capital Grille restaurant we've found. Jared took terrific care of us. Enjoyed the evening very much and well worth the 4 hour drive from southwest corner of our state.
Great restaurant week dinner and wine pairing.
My husband and I had a delicious meal at the Capital Grille! We planned on having a nice dinner before a show and when we showed up were pleasantly surprised to see that they were participating in restaurant week. I had a filet and my husband had a roast chicken...both cooked wonderfully. The sides of green beans and mashed potatoes were delicious and the flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake were both decadent and a perfect end to a fantastic meal. We will definitely be coming back.
Very elegant experience with this establishment! The steak was outstanding, cooked to a perfect medium, And charred with a Hawaii coffee been on the edges topped with a butter sauce. Best steak I've had thus far! Lobster tail was absolutely amazing and broiled to bring out that natural sweet flavor. I had a seasonal wind that was $20 a glass but well worth it! Taste was impeccable, I should've brought the bottle. I'll be returning to explore the full menu next.
Restaurant Week Review
Mother-daughter dinner. The restaurant week menu is one of the best in DC. We both ordered the clam chowder and bone-in NY strip (well-done and medium). We shared the two options for family-style sides, string beans and mashed potatoes. We had the flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake. Everything was amazing and the service was excellent!
We had such a great time at Capital Grille. Came in early for dinner on Friday and had LC as a server. She was knowledgeable about the food choice and wine pairing. We highly recommend the "Generous Pour" option for wine pairing with food. So glad to have experienced restaurant week here. Will be returning soon!
The fact is this location is one of the top dinner experiences on Capitol Hill. This is a go to place for lobbyists to see and be seen. The food is always on point and you won’t find a better staff in DC!
Eric Hovey was amazing as always. Provided exception service.
