Service was excellent, food done to our liking and seating was just as we requested for our meeting. We will certainly be back.
Great food! Akim was a delight and made the meal extremely enjoyable.
The dinner was excellent. Great atmosphere and vibe
Quality service tops off an excellent dining experience.
While I will say the flavor of the food was excellent and my steak was cooked perfectly, the temperature of the food left a lot to be desired. Everything was luke warm, specifically the clam chowder. But the service was deplorable Tony Parvin seemed to be having a very bad day. He was rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Seemed bothered that we were there. We won’t go back, for the money we paid we expected a much higher quality of food and service. The hostess at the front was wonderful and our initial greeting and speed of seating was an excellent start. Unfortunately the rest was quite disappointing.
Rays the Steaks is a much better alternative.
I’m always happy with Cap Grille. This time, they went out of their way to accommodate our newborn baby. Class act!
Kale salad and sea bass was delicious. I would highly recommend the restaurant for a wonderful, intimate business lunch.
Everything was amazing as usual! Definitely a DC favorite. Our server Manuel was the absolute best—ask for him!
Excellent server & service
I was concerned they might be snobby, and would not be very interested in serving a family with kids, but they greeted us right away. All the staff was nice and friendly and helpful. Food was great. Sure it was expensive, but you get what you pay for. I had the chicken sandwich and it was overflowing the buns it was such a generous helping. Very tasty and crisp. The home made potato chips were not evenly done was about my only complaint. And it was small. Overall very nice experience for our first trip to DC.
But only if you don't have kids and have the $$.
Delicious bread and seafood. Oysters were amazing
Capital grille came highly recommended and it didn’t not fail!
This particular location is my favorite. I’ve been coming for the last 15 - 20 years. I’ve never had a bad experience. Many of the staff have worked here for a long time so it feels comfortable each time we dine here.
The service and ambiance were fabulous. My husband and I both ordered the Filet Mignon and Lobster Tails. We ordered medium well and both of us received extra rare. That aside we enjoy the evening very much
Great food, service and ambiance. Hard to beat the steaks!
Fabulous upscale dining experience!!!
Outstanding meal and Tom Stevens is the best waiter in Washington, DC
The food was okay but the greeting staff at the front desk were disorganized and kept us waiting 15 mins. past our appointment time. The tables are too close and the noise level is high. Not nearly as nice or as well run as The Capital Grill in Cincinnati.
Amazing food and service. Best in DC.
From the Hostess to the wait staff...brilliant dinner. Thank you for a dining experience that I won't soon forget. Walter (I believe) was our waiter made the night fun.
Excellent service and ambiance. Personally I would enjoy a vegetarian entree option as the sides can be fattening although delicious. We had a lovely evening!
Great early birthday dinner!
We brought good friends for the husband’s 40th Birthday, and the team working that night really rolled out the red carpet. We had the best time. Service was excellent. Food was fresh and delicious. Managing Partner Adam stopped by to check on us - even though the restaurant was packed. Server Tiffany did a fantastic job with pacing our meal. She showed good instincts about when to stop by to check on it we wanted to order our next course, or if we needed a next round of beverages. It was a real treat. We had a blast! Thank you all.
Amazing food with exceptional service. Will definitely have to go back there again.
The Capital Grille in Washington DC is my favorite restaurant in all the world. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and we always see someone we recognize (this year it was Senator Ted Cruz and former Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss). If I have a complaint at all, it is that the noise level is extremely high for a high end restaurant.
Our waiter Noe Rodriguez was awesome. Attentive, helpful and personable.
Visited here whilst on vacation in dc. Fabulous waiting staff. Food amazing and they made our overall experience wonderful. Would highly recommend
Our 10 years together was great. Lovely people and great celebration special just for us.
Fabulous- wonderful- delicious!
From the moments we got there everybody was very friendly and nice (hostess to waiters)The waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable. We had very nice time and I can’t wait to go back again.
Waiter was nice, however service was slow taking orders, clearing table. Lamb and lobster Mac n cheese were excellent. Chicken was good but not worth the cost.
My wife and I celebrated our Valentine’s Day here! It’s a perfect place for a romantic dinner, especially since we sat in the far back of the restaurant where it’s more intimate. The food is obviously served to perfection. I have never been disappointed.
Awesome and attentive service is what you come to expect...
Food was good, server was very attentive and all staff were friendly and helpful.
One would think that a place like The Capital Grille would be able to handle a simple party of 5 on a Saturday evening, but that was not the case... the valet parkers were waiting inside and we had to go inside to find them, then we were seated and waited for about 5 minutes for someone to greet us and another 5+ minutes for our water and about another 3 minutes beyond that for our sparkling water... as for the food, it was only average. The bone-in filet and the regular filet were great, though temperature seemed not to be the chef's forte on Saturday night. The ribeye was too overcooked. Certainly encourage staying away from the cooked fish - the crabcakes were not that good and the tuna was average. If you go, I suggest you stick with the basics - fired calamari, raw turf and filet mignon! I suggest other nearby steakhouses where the noise level is lower and there is more room between tables.
Both of us enjoyed our appetizers and entrees, however, as time progressed noise level exponentially increased...yuck! Our server advised us that the wine room or a booth (insulation) would be more comfortable. My next reservation via Open Table includes his advice. Hopefully, it'll be better:)
It was absolutely amazing!!!! We will be coming every year for Valentine's day. The staff, the food, the management, the restaurant was all top notch. Nothing could have been done to improve the experience.
Just beware: I asked for a glass of red zinfandel by the glass - took the waiters recommendation and it cost $26.00. I was quite shocked. Secondly, the table was wedged in the middle of many smaller tables in too-close proximity to each other - in the middle of the room and the dining room has too many tables to accommodate a comfortable experience - that has changed since the last time I was there and it felt trapped and just a bit tawdry compared with earlier experiences. The steak was about 25% more expensive than it was worth in terms of quality.
