We met friends for lunch. The lobster and crab burger was great and the truffle fries the perfect side to compliment the burger

The Capital Grille remains a special place for lunch or dinner -- and the best steaks -- in Washington. The food and service are always outstanding. I have eaten there 20 times over the years, and I have never been disappointed. The problem today is the noise level -- which is beyond energetic. It is impossible to talk to a person who is not sitting next to you; across the table is impossible. The reason is that the Grille is always packed, and because some talk loudly, everyone is obliged to. I will definitely be back -- but, not for a business lunch or dinner, when clear communication and understanding are important, or again with a foreign ambassador when multiple languages are being spoken.

I felt the waiter rushed us: rushed us to order apps and dinner - which I detest in a fine restaurant. I mentioned it at one point so that he would slow down but found him to be a bit snarky. When I attempted to ask a question about the menu he replied "I'm married!" which was a bit humiliating given that I was the only single person at the table, as well as socially inappropriate.
I expect a high end restaurant like this to have impeccable service. The table was also tucked back in a dark corner and my out of town guests felt like they could not see or be seen. Overall, for the cost it was not worth it. You need to coach your waiters.
Nice venue for husband and wife night out. Great server and atmosphere. Reservations highly suggested.
Great Rib Eye and desserts!
I made reservations and arrived early and my table was ready. I took my wife here for her birthday/Valentine’s Day and we absolutely loved it. We are foodies and we love going to what we would call a nice expensive dinner every once in a while! The servers are great, the drinks are made to perfection, the menu is delicious! Just overall a big five stars!

It's a very conservative clientele, which may make some people very uncomfortable. Also, there were no/very few women in the restaurant outside of the waitstaff. Food was good, but I wouldn't go back or recommend.

Had such great night. our server Manuel did an exceptional job when it came down to describing the menu, the wine list and had the answers to any questions that we had. He made our dinner experience wonderful and enjoyable. We will for sure return and we will ask for him.
The restaurant was running at least 45 minutes late in seating guests -- the restaurant was packed. Normally thoroughly enjoy my dining experience, but less so this time.
We had another delicious meal at the Capital Grille. Unfortunately our favorite server was not there the night we went, and our other favorite was assigned elsewhere for some reason. This did inhibit the experience, as the gentleman we had was just OK. We enjoy the interaction and attentive service of Manny and LC, and that does truly add to the experience. We were seated shortly after our reservation time, which was perfectly fine, as it was rather busy, a weekend, and restaurant week as well. it gave us time to enjoy a cocktail at the bar with two of the best bartenders in town!
The food, as usual, was delicious and prepared as ordered. Service was fine, but the room was a bit noisy and a table close to us did not understand that there is certain language that doesn't belong ion a public forum. That is in no way a reflection of the Capital Grille, but just a comment on society as a whole.
All in all, the Capital Grille continues to be at the top of my list in DC and I will continue my loyalty here, and in other cities I visit.
The ambience was awesome but the food was just ok. This is our first time there because we usually go to Ruth Chris. It was restaurant week so we decided to try it, however, we will stick with Ruth Chris. Our steak were burnt and not well seasoned. Overall the drinks were good but that about it
We had a fantastic meal and service was top notch.
We have been here several times, on different occasions. This time it happened to be during DC restaurant week. The Capital Grille offers an amazing lunch menu and we thought to take advantage. Unfortunately our waiter (Lee) ruined the experience because he literally treated us like “second class” after he found out we were there for restaurant week. It was clear he was after a big tip, which is understandable, because unlike the table next to us who ordered plenty of food and alcohol, he never engaged with us and let us wait 30 minutes for our main course. As I said, we have been there other times - both on restaurant week and for special occasions - and we always had been treated in the same way. This time wasn’T the case. The food was still excellent like always.

The steak I ordered was a nice cut. It was not flavorful though; had to add salt, which I rarely do with my food.
Service was excellent, really first class! Food was good as well but not spectacular. I would definitely go again outside of restaurant week, and for dinner instead of lunch.
