The Capital Grille - Washington DC Ratings and Reviews
We went here for Thsnksgiving dinner while out of town for work . The service was attentive but not intrusive with absolutely impeccable and gracious attention to detail ( our waiter was Noe R. ) ; the atmosphere elegant but nevertheless comfortable and cozy . The steak was perfectly cooked to order and delicious and the rest of the meal from , wine selections, and side dishes to dessert utterly perfect. We wholeheartedly recommend for a great meal and gracious atmosphere.
Capital Grille never fails to impress. Couldn’t be with family for Thanksgiving, but found comfort in a delicious feast at noon. Service is impeccable, food out of this world, desserts...well sublime might come close to describing them. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Excellent food and service. The filet mignons were perfections, and the lobster bisque was delicious. Service was attentive, pleasant and extremely accommodating to severe food allergies. Would highly recommend, but it will lighten your pocketbook!
We had a wonderful meal enhanced by the friendly and efficient service of Akim, who truly went out of his way to make us feel welcome guests, rather than patrons. We were celebrating the visit of my 90 years old mother in law and he was particularly nice with her. Great experience!
Great experience, if only my steak hadn't been slightly overcooked. For $52, it should have been perfect. They do have a kids' menu. Attire is business casual. I'd have felt fine in jeans and a polo shirt; I would have felt overdressed with a jacket and tie.
There were 2 things i was dissappointed in. First, was the size of the porter house steak. And secondly my steak was over cooked i asked for medium rare and it came out med to medium well. Our waitress pam was amazing, the appetizers and deserts were great too. Overall very pleased with the whole experience.
The location of The Capital Grill makes it perfect after visiting the National Gallery for the fabulous Vermeer Exhibit. The service, food and ambiance were outstanding. We appreciate being allowed to split a wedge salad and the halibut was perfection. They have key lime pie if you ask.
Dinner was great, as always. I come here at least once each month with guests and the experience is never disappointing. Steaks, salads and side dishes are superb. I always ask for the same waiter, and his memory of what I want is outstanding. A bottle of my favorite cabernet is always on the table when we arrive. I have never heard a negative word from anyone I have ever brought to The Capital Grille.
Very cool restaurant in downtown DC area. Would recommend business attire. Very friendly staff although our waiter seem to cater to the well-known customers who appeared to be on a business meeting across from us way more than us. I would have rated it perfect fives if my steak wasn’t over cooked to a Med well versus Med rare but they did fix that promptly and it was delicious. The waiter also seem to always be in a hurry initially when he came to our table. Quite expensive overall but worth the experience for a special occasion!
The Capital Grille always has the best steaks in DC. This visit to the steakhouse was no less spectacular than our previous trips. But, by far the best part about our frequent meals at Capital Grille is Our server, Noe. The price of the meal is expected for the quality of food, but Noe truly makes the event worth while
This place is amazing. The host seated us very quickly and there was a wonderful card for us at the table congratulating us on our anniversary. The waiter Pam was wonderful, we received complimentary Champagne to start off our meal and she even offered to take our picture. The wait time on food was perfectly timed and we did not wait long for water or drinks. The wine menu and drink menu is on an Ipad and easy to navigate. We had a wonderful experience.
Made my reservation via open table. Got to the restaurant the host were on point. My guest & I were blown away. The server came over just on time to start the evening. His name was Tony very memorable experience. I’ll definitely be getting back to The Capital Grille DC soon. OUTSTANDING SERVICE. O did i mention the stoli doly drinks are amazing. Thanks for the hospitality Capital Grille DC. Way2go👌🏾❤️
For two of the three of us, the food was quite good. My wife's steak, however, was a bit tough. My knock on the restaurant is the price. There were few entrees less than $50, and like most steakhouses, everything is a la carte. Nothing accompanies the entrees (which were too large for anyone but the 20-something who accompanied us). So in addition to soup or salad, there is an extra charge for any side dish. Add a cocktail, a bottle of wine (at the lower end of the list), a salad, a couple of shared sides and the tip, and the total tab exceeds $400. Other steakhouses provide a comparable experience at a lower price.
We were in a party of four and each of us thought our meals were outstanding. The NY strip steaks, in particular, were flavorful and cooked to perfection. Truly one of the top steaks that I have had in a restaurant. The service was excellent as well-attentive and well informed. A great evening!
