Absolutely fantastic - professional friendly staff & amazing food. Thank you 🙏
Excellent steak...cooked to perfection
The soup, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were at room temperature but we didn't say anything. Everything else was wonderful!
Absolutely good place to dinner.
I went there at restaurant week. and It was fantastic experience.
Pretty solid steakhouse. I would return and plan to. First experience was during restaurant week. I would like to try some other side dishes and entrees. Also, maybe visit for a happy hour at some point.
Food was really good but the time in between courses was really long. It took over an hour and a half for lunch.
Tony was great!
Lovely staff. Great service. One of my favorites in DC
Just trying to use up gift cards. It would have been nice to have some craft beer on tap.
Everything was great! We arrived early on a Sunday and sat at the bar. The martini's were cold and the food was perfect. I highly recommend Capital Grille.
Awesome spot. Great service and amazing food.
We have been coming here for many years and everything is always amazing. The food and the service are spectacular. This time, we brought our infant daughter for the first time and they were very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend The Capital Grille to anyone I meet!
Snuck in for lunch on a chilly afternoon with my daughter. We were seated promptly at a really nice table. Francisco took great care of us. The French onion soup was spot on and the Signature Cheeseburger was to die for. PS: order extra bacon! 😜
The Capital Grille is consistently excellent city to city. Best chain steak house in my view. Not inexpensive, but you can count on excellent quality. Also, although the wine list is extensive, and expensive, there are some quality wines available that won’t break the bank. A go to restaurant when traveling and steak is your choice for dinner.
Fantastic service, excellent tasting food! Have been looking forward to this evening dinner for a while during my out of town trip with a friend. Would highly recommend this for a very nice dinner location.
Akim was amazing and delightful! I cannot wait to go back!
Great restaurant prices seemed unreasonable before tasting the food, but once you start eating everything make sense... unfortunately there was a table full of drunk guys shouting and laughing very loud. But I totally recommend this place
Delicious dinner. Server was great with our children and the overall experience was wonderful.
Gave us a private room for 8 adults and 4 children and spectacular service!
Geweldige avond gehad met mijn jongste zoon. Voor het eerst samen in Washington.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The food is exceptionally prepared.
Love this place. It's where we have our Christmas Eve dinner every year and it never disappoints. Staff, service and food are always perfect.
Wonderful dinner and Adam our waiter was fantastic!
It was jam packed in Christmas Eve. The kitchen seemed to be trying to crank out too many steaks at once. My medium filet came out charred. Had to send it back. Manager took it off bill. I wish they would just limit the amount of reservations they take on holidays to ensure their quality standards are maintained. Waiter was wonderful though!!
Everyone told us we had to visit the Capital Grill for our vacation rather than Ruths Chris. What a disappointment. The food was okay and the service was okay. nothing to brag about. We will not go back
Everything tasted as good as it looked.
Very nice lunch with a colleague for her birthday. Service was great and the food was delicious!
The food was incredible and the wait staff was outstanding.
I visited this restaurant because it was famous. I made a reservation at first and waited because there was no table space. The dry aging steak at this restaurant was amazing. I was satisfied with the wine too.
Food was wonderful. Matt was an excellent waiter. We both enjoyed it and will return.
Manuel is the best. The restaurant itself always delivers and is worth every penny.
Visited the DC location with two coworker/friends at lunch. The main server was just perfect in engaging, timing, and serving. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Sauteed brussels sprouts would be enjoyed by even those who do not really like brussels sprouts. Each of us was more than happy with our entrees including Lobster Mac & Cheese, Lobster Crab Burger, and Hamburger with truffle fries. Everyone was more than happy with their food. The restaurant was busy but not loud. As I have visited the same location before, I requested a booth or peripheral table and I was more than happy with the accommodation. Excellent location for intimate celebrations.
Our server tonight made us feel as if we were unwanted. Right from the beginning he had a very negative stature. We only one appetizer, the tuna tartare, it was wonderful. When we order the rest of the meal I could tel right away that he didn’t like how much we were spending. We tried to keep things a little cheaper and share two of the bigger steak and a bunch of sides for 5 people, but when you start to let that affect how you approach a table it completely ridiculous. I serve at a very high end steakhouse in the area, and I would never let the amount of money that someone is going to spend, you always give the best service. When he served the main course he just tossed the sides we order on the table, the porter house that we ordered was rare, but we felt very uncomfortable about saying anything because we could already tell he wasn’t happy with our party. Other than that we had a wonderful time and had very great food. I just don’t think we will return to the dc location.
Christmas Dinner with friends
The Capital Grille, Washington, DC remains one of the top restaurants in DC....The management has done the impossible...That is, year after year the service, food, etc is just outstanding. Tough to duplicate what this restaurant has achieved for last 10+ years.
Super overcooked steak (asked for medium rare but it was easily cooked to 150), the cut was grainy as well. Cognac sauce, which I was excited to try because I have a family recipe, was not creamy and pretty bland. We expected better especially for a price that rivals French restaurants who actually deliver on the steak and sauce.
Ambience wise we were in a private room but there was a cold draft that consistently interrupted the flow of the night.
About the only thing that was good was the wine, and that's just sad. This place is clearly past its prime and not worth the trip if you haven't been before.
Delicious steaks, good service.
Hands down, our absolutely favorite place to eat in DC. We travel to the city each year for a long weekend to celebrate the holidays and our Saturday night go-to restaurant is always The Capital Grille. Aside from the phenomenal food (filet and lobster tail... sigh...), we love the bar, the vibe of the place, the service, and most of all, our favorite requested server Bill Cubbins. We've had the fortune of being seated in Bill's section the first two years we dined there and have requested him since then. We enjoy his personality and excellent service and it's a pleasure to see him - it might only be once a year, but he remembers my husband and I and offers us a fun evening.
We both chose the filet and lobster tail and shared a side of their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. We finished our fabulous meal sharing a piece of key lime cheesecake. And between my husband's Manhattans and my Blackberry bourbon splash, we thoroughly enjoyed the bar's offerings as well. Now if we only didn't have to wait until next year's Christmas season.....
Great steak and great service.
A top notch dining experience! Adam and Adam took great care of us and provided the most attentive service. Very personable, knowledgeable and professional. We will be back!
