Look. The Capital Grille is the best restaurant chain in the country. Nothing else comes close. The combination of food and service is unbeatable!
Great all around as usual. The place to go for special friends
Great food, waiter should inform guests that water costs: four bottles of Water that no one drunk.
Went out for a nice birthday dinner..wasn’t greeted at the door properly they didn’t check me in for my open table points and the service was terrible food was decent..but again the service was disrespectfully bad!
Great place! Will definitely be back! Great staff and great service!
The waitress, Julia, was great
Great service, food and atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating. A lil loud but there were several Birthday celebrations going on, great choice. Brûlée styled cheesecake, new favorite
The food was delicious. I had the sea bass and my husband the surf and turf. We paired it with the lobster Mac n cheese and Brussels sprouts. Delicious!
Our server Joey made our night. He was phenomenal. So personable. Will go back when Joey is working!
Awesome service and excellent food as usual! We had server named Tony and he took great care of us.
The steaks were flavorful and delicious. While our strip steak might have been a smidge over cooked, it was still terrific. Service was lovely.
As always an outstanding meal at the Penn Ave Capital Grille. Many thanks to the management and team. Special thank you to Manuel Portocarrero for his first rate service, engaging journey through the menu and deep knowledge of the food and wine. We look forward to our next dinner with you.
Capitol Grille is now and has been my favorite DC restaurant. Every time I go there it is an experience. Adam was our main server and he made the evening wonderful. My steak was perfect. It wasn’t good. It wasn’t great. It was perfect!
We had an outstanding experience, not only was the food excellent as always but our server was helpful and knowledgeable on a wide range of topics.
Food and service was fantastic, especially the twin lobster tails, they were very large and the price was very reasonable (though they could have been cooked another 30 seconds or so).
Came for my husband’s birthday. The staff was amazingly friendly and set us up in a private booth with birthday decorations and dessert. The waiter was great, but the staff was the best part of the night. If I’m going to spend $250 on a dinner for two, I expect the food to be top notch and it just wasn’t. The steaks were good but not the best I’d had and the sides were pretty flavorless. We were bummed!
Enjoyed a nice evening with my son-in-law. Cliff was an amazing waiter and made some excellent recommendations. Rib eye was perfectly cooked. Thanks for a wonderful evening and experience.
Akim is THE BEST!
Superlative service - attention to detail, and always an amazing dining experience- Bravo!
Going away celebrate
Superb service and food!
I love eating at Capital Grille. Always reliably outstanding food and service. My tuna was awesome!!’
The Cap Grille is always a treat. Even as many times as I have been it is great.
Everything was perfect as we were celebrating dual birthdays from the interaction with the hostesses, to the waitress and finally the meal which was something to die for. Will REPEAT!!
Amazing food as always, had a friend, business associate I from Denmark. He’s was very impressed with the entire meal. Thanks for an excellent dining experience.
LC the server was outstanding. Food was good. Good size for lunch.
I celebrated my 28th Birthday it was lovely!!
Excellent restaurant with exceptional cleanliness, attentive service, and quality cuisine.
Our co-worker chose the Capital Grille for her farewell luncheon. The service exceeded everyone's expectations. Daniel was pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu options, and made the event an OUTSTANDING experience. The lemonade and lobster bisque were delicious, and everyone enjoyed their food choices.
We had a wonderful meal and even more wonderful waitress. Highly recommend for special occasion or simple date night!
Our first visit to The Capital Grille was a winner. The Stoli Doli signature martini infused with pineapple was a big hit. The mouth watering filet mignon elicited oohs and ahhs, and the NY strip with a special spice rub will lure one of our friends back. Friendly, knowledgeable, efficient service topped off a great dining experience. We'll return!
Had a Birthday Dinner. Diner went fine.
My husband and I have been to Capital Grill many times and are always satisfied. Unfortunately, tonight missed the mark for the first time. I’m not sure if it was because it was the last day of restaurant week, which as a former food service professional I can understand is often frustrating and exhausting, but the service was sub par and both our stakes were over cooked. Neither of our meals were inedible, and I HATE sending back food especially, expensive food, unless I really just can’t eat it. Mostly because I understand the food cost implications in the industry.
That being said I did inform our server that both our stakes were way over cooked, but I didn’t want to trouble him or the kitchen for a new one and he shrugged said, “ok” and walked away. Like I said I didn’t want or expect a new meal but at least an “I’m sorry” and the offer to get something else would have been appreciated. It genuinely didn’t seem like he cared. Which was disappointing and uncharacteristic of the service I am used to at the Capital Grill.
We love restaurant week and we love the generous pour.
The Generous Pour combined with Restaurant Week is a deal that can't be beat!
Our waiter Robert made our night, he was a great server and the food was delicious.
Excellent service from the Maitre D who seated us a few minutes early to our attentive and helpful waiter. Drinks, steaks and desserts were superb.
We ate here relatively early because of a later tour. Our 3:00 o’clock dinner meal was acceptable but underwhelming. Fortunately they were offering a $35.00 “ restaurant week” meal which helped soften our mediocre experience. We were seated promptly by a gracious hostess but our waiter was rather matter of fact but I could also overlook that. We both chose a wedge salad w blue cheese which was delicious. My wife ordered the salmon and I ordered the Kona bone in strip medium rare. Our disappointment started with the 30 min gap between the salad and the entree. Unacceptable as they really weren’t busy. When the food did arrive my steak was closer to medium than it should have been but was tasty. My wife’s salmon was pretty bland . The cheesecake dessert was good but the flourless chocolate cake was just ok. Ordered off the menu this meal would have been over $200 but the special menu cut that in half. Even w this I prob would choose a different restaurant next time.. 3.5/5 at best.. I hope you have a better experience..
I loved the Veal Tomahawk 😍
Mash potatoes were great.
Dessert (cheesecake) was on a smaller side for the price.
Steak (medium well) was a little too charred, couldn’t even eat the whole thing. I’ve heard great things about this place, so naturally, I expected a better quality in grilled steak.
It was warm in the dining room
