The Capital Grille - Tysons Corner Ratings and Reviews
Great steaks! Friendly staff. And the waiter (Carlos Leon) was superb--friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The only criticism I have was that the salad (field-greens, etc.) was only so so, mainly because the tomatoes didn't taste good.
Our server was extremely rude and unprofessional. The food was great; except i did not like the desert as much. When the server asked how is the desert, i told him it was just okay and clearly showed him I didn't like it however he said "It was just ok? I saw you attacking it!" I thought it was a joke but he said it so rudely and just left. Through out the dinner, i had to call other servers to help me. He was mostly rude and not paying attention to what we need. Even for refills I had to wait for other servers to notice or call them. Before leaving the restaurant i confronted our server about how poor his customer service had been the whole night and in response he told me in front of so many people that "i have been ignoring him the whole night". I mean what did he really mean? First of all, I did not ignore him I treated him just as anybody would treat a server i.e. with respect. Second, just for the sake of argument I did ignore him in any way a good customer service requires you to have just as good an attitude with an angry customer as you would have with a good customer. Third, I did not went to The Capitol Grille to make conversations with my server or to please him with my valueable time. I went there to have a beautiful date with my wife which he completely ruined. It was a surprise for my wife and now I regret I even took her there. The server humiliated me and my family in front of so many people. I was so disappointed that how such a nice place serving an outstanding food can ruin my date night just because the server failed to provide me what servers usually do i.e. a good experience and customer service.
The ambiance and service were excellent. The food not so much.
We enjoyed: Caesar Salad, Lobster Bisque, Parmesan Truffle Fries, Calamari, Cheesecake, Espresso Cake
We did not enjoy the steaks at all. We had the ribeye and filet, both medium rare. They were seared and burnt on the outside and had a bitter taste. They were also both lacking seasoning. Not sure if this is how TCG cooks their steaks but we won't be back. Definitely prefer Ruth's Chris.
Our party went for Restaurant Week. We all had a great time. The service was great and made us feel very welcomed. The food was terrific - a very good bone-in NY strip 14 oz steak with two sides, appetizer and dessert for $35. And it has a good, classy, steak house feel to the Restaurant - we all had a great time!
Angela was our server and she was a delight. The food was cooked PERFECTLY and the flavor was amazing. The dry age steak was juicy and the green beans were crisp and delicious. The mash potatoes were very creamy. The creme brûlée was light and yummy for a light finish. Will be back.
Capital Grill, was as usual, a great bargain for Restaurant Week menu items. The service was excellent. It's a definite go to place twice a year. The drinks and wine costs, however, make it more of a special occasion restaurant for us. They may lose money on some of the menu items but make up for it with the costs of beverages. Love that they take items from their regular menu for entree choices.
First came to this Capital Grille 5+ years ago and return for lunch or a special dinner on occasion. The location is good and valet parking makes getting in and out a breeze. Everyone there from the host/hostess to those clearing tables is a consummate professional. You are unlikely to find a superior staff elsewhere. Food is cooked and presented perfectly each time. Had the best steaks and the best burgers of my life at The Capital Grille. The first time I had a steak there, it was so tender I did not use the knife to cut it; just the fork. The garlic parmesan french fries are delicious and I highly recommend it. Even the Arnold Palmer is superior to other locations. If you want to impress a client or a date, this is the place. If you want to just enjoy a great meal with great service, this it the place. Cannot recommend it enough.
Our retired old men's group enjoyed a restaurant week lunch. Our server Marcello was perfect as a waiter in ever way. The inside of this restaurant is very classy lots of wood and comfortable chairs. There kitchen serves near perfect dishes. One of the few great restaurants in Northern Virginia Virginia
We went for Restaurant Week and had a fantastic time. I had the 18oz. Bone-In Strip with Shallot butter while my girlfriend had the 14 oz. Bone-In Strip. Both were cooked spot on and were delicious. Although the entrees were discounted for RW, the experience wasn't. We received outstanding service from Angela who was extremely professional. She was overly formal at the beginning of service while becoming more familiar as the experience went on. I find this the true hallmark of great service. Thanks for an outstanding evening Capital Grille, we will be back soon.
