The Capital Grille - Providence Ratings and Reviews
Capital Grille remains my favorite multi-location steak house. Food is consistently high quality and service impeccable. And as a woman whose dining party often is a group of women, I appreciate receiving impeccable service rather than the inattentive servers I too often encounter at other establishments. Our waiter this visit was spot on. One of my party requested a substitution to a lunch combo and was readily accommodated. And the mini tenderloin sandwiches were especially yummy. The molten chocolate cake with Port-infused cherries was a decadent end to a fine luncheon.
We ate an early dinner at 5:00 pm on a Sunday after attending a matinee at the theatre. We had a great table by the window. Food was excellent per usual, and the service was first class. The Capital Grille is best enjoyed during off-peak times - the place is quieter and the service staff is not so rushed. We love it for late lunch/early dinner. Our server was Don, and he was outstanding!
We had an amazing evening! Started off with the crab and lobster cakes, which were obviously as good as they sound. I ordered the 22 oz rib eye with a lobster tail and it was out of this World. My girlfriend ordered the special bone-in filet, which you don’t see at many places. She said it was terrific. Our server Ken was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and had an awesome recommendation. Wish I could give it 6 stars.. Thanks for an incredible night Ken!
We had a delightful meal here with another couple. Appetizers were delicious, steaks were cooked to order, and the service was excellent. John is a professional server and was very attentive, making sure the dinner was paced well and we did not miss the 7:30 tickets to our show. Great time!
We had dinner there before a performance at PPAC. It was my husband's birthday. They sprinkled our table with stars, left us a hand written note and delivered an incredible birthday dessert. Even the manager stopped by to say Happy Birthday.
Quite a place. It is now our "Favorite Restaurant"
The taste of the food was terrific and the atmosphere inside was great. I was a little disappointed that our table was not ready when we arrived (on time) for our reservation. When we were seated, we were placed right next to a server water and silverware station and had to endure the constant commotion of waitstaff filling pitchers and fetching flatware.
Our server did not offer coffee with desert and finally brought it after we finished our cake. As for desert, we were not given any options, just provided with a happy birthday platter.
For the money, I'd go elsewhere next time.
