Bob P. Was fantastic...courteous, knowledgeable and simply a pleasure.
We were celebrating my sister and brother-in-laws 40th wedding anniversary and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The ambiance is wonderful. The food and service were top notch!
To begin the table was set with rose petals and tiny red hearts along with a postcard from the manager, to extend well wishes! Such special touches, which was the start to a great evening/dinner.
We ordered oysters, shrimp cocktail and calamari for appetizers; all were so fresh and delicious!
Three of us ordered the tenderloin and lobster tails and the other ordered a bone-in crusted dry aged NY strip; all of us raved about our meals! (We did have to send one of the meats back as it was over-done, but, they were only happy to make an exchange to ensure it was cooked to perfection )We ordered sides of wild mushrooms, potatoes and spinach.
All of our dinners were delicious!
A slice of cake with chocolate lettering was presented to the anniversary couple! In addition, we ordered the apple crostata and coconut cream pie, everyone enjoyed their desserts!
Katie was our server and was truly the “icing on the cake”!
She was so personable and made good recommendations, to help make our meal decisions! She never rushed us and provided superb service! :)
Valet was not available because it was a waterfire night but exceptions were clearly made for some....
Service /waiter was friendly but he was not attentive.
Food ( filets) were overcooked and should never be at those prices. We did not send back because we knew waiting for new ones would be a long wait and didnt want guests to stop eating.
Dinner was for my wife’s Birthday. I used Open Table to make the reservation and added a note for your staff to wish my wife a happy birthday. When we arrived, your hostess staff greeted us with the birthday wish! Our table had a hand written birthday wish along with a smattering b-day glitter. Eric was our server. He was friendly, professional and super knowledgeable offering several suggestions to enhance our experience. At the end of the meal, Eric brought a lovely (and delicious) dessert with “ Happy Birthday” written in chocolate! My wife was thrilled. I scored major points!! Thanks for the great experience.
We were celebrating our 31st Anniversary. Our experience was wonderful; exceptional service, delicious food and wine. The atmosphere was quite nice. I would highly recommend for a special occasion.
Tiana was great!
Wonderful facility. It was busy so the service was a bit off. Not the usual exemplary attention. Will still be a frequent flyer!
Arrived early to have a cocktail in the bar prior to dinner
However there were so many patrons having dinner in the bar it was more of a dining room.
The food was great and the waiter magnificent.
Like all waiters though they are to free to pour the wine and wish they asked first.
Considering most of us were driving and the host was asked about getting additional bottles but how could he say no we were a small group he was hosting.
This is a classic steak house and a Providence classic.
The Capital Grille continues to provide a fine dining experience as expected.
We were there for my birthday & my son’s birthday. The food was excellent. Our waiter, Joe Macleod, was awesome. He made our experience fun & delicious. Totally enjoyed his personality. We will highly recommend Capital Grill & Joe to all our friends.
Visiting family, we went here for first time. Impeccable everything! This restaurant has exceeded my expectations for fine dining! It has a relaxed atmosphere, outstanding menu, service and amazing food. I can’t wait for the next special occasion to eat at my local Capital Grille!
Great food as usual... also created a couple of vegan meals for us which were fantastic and appreciated.
While I normally have a great time at Capital, this past experience was sub par. The line cooks and staff were cursing and rowdy, which I also experienced in a previous visit. My waiter Dan was excellent, and my dinner was very good. However, I took a coconut cream pie desert home, with the intention of having it the previous afternoon. Unfortunately for me, as I was eating it, I discovered a clear plastic sheet (presumably from a piping bag, or something of the like) in the dessert. While I will continue to visit, I guess I just have to lower my expectations as it seems some of the standards have been lowered.
We had an excellent experience, our waiter Mark Deland certainly added to this as he was simply stellar. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. It was my Mother-in-Laws first visit and she can't stop talking about it!! Thank you
The occasion was the last family dinner out before the teens left for college. We had a last minute change in # guests yet the host was very accommodating and sat us at a lovely quiet location with a beautiful view. We had another guest come by after dinner and the staff was very accommodating to promptly bring an extra setting. Top notch service all around. Timing on dishes, selection/quality of food, and atmosphere was excellent.
John Burke was our waiter and he was fabulous!! Food was delicious, service was excellent, awesome dining experience.
Very nice. Reservation was ready on time. Great service. Great food.
Excellent cuts of steaks and service was great
We celebrated our 45th Anniversary at Capital Grille Providence. Our celebration could not have been better. Our table was decorated with rose petals and heart shaped confetti. An Anniversary message was also on the table. The food was amazing. The staff was incredible. Highly recommend for special occasions!
Fantastic as always ! Great wine selection
Always a great experience. The food is always great and so is the service. The location is perfect, especially when there are water fires!
Went to Capital Grille in Providence for dinner during a business trip. Valet parking available.
Reservation made through Open Table for 9:30PM, but I arrived an hour earlier than my reservation. I was seated in less than 15 minutes, however, the only available table was near the entrance. If you are working, reading, are dining with others, or are just non-distractible, this is the table for you, if not forgo.
Manny, my server, was excellent and Andrew managed my table adeptly. Everyone was attentive, friendly and professional. Although I dined alone, I was never felt overlooked for bigger parties, which has happened in the past in other establishments.
I dined on Seared Citrus Glazed Salmon With Marcona Almonds and Brown Butter, with sides of Sam's Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. I opted for the smaller side portions. Rated the meal four stars.
I wanted to love the Coconut Cream Pie With House Made Caramel Sauce, but sadly it fell short for me as far as taste. I was shocked about that particularly from the number of rave reviews I saw online and that this was their signature dessert. I must say that it’s presentation was awe inspiring and would have satisfied four diners easily.
The hostess asked how it was going as well as Mark, the manager(?). At this point I shared my displeasure with the dessert. He offered another, which I declined and he had it removed from my bill.
Mark, Manny and Andrew were genuinely dedicated in their customers having a wonderful gastronomic experience. My sincerest appreciation and thanks to you all!
I rate the service five stars, food was four and overall a four and a half stars.
The waiter was excellent went above and beyond but the food was average at best and the money payed was much above average. The preparation on my steak tasted odd it was a balsamic reduction but it tasted harsh. If I go back I will order something with a basic prep. Dinner for 3 was over $300.
Great place to meet old friend and talk without being rushed.
A great place for steak. A little pricey for sides and wine, but steaks are similarly priced to most steak houses. Dinner for 2 with a moderate bottle of wine was $230.
excellent service; Our waiter, Ken was fantastic. Food was great!
It was absolutely amazing to celebrate the two special birthdays at Capital Grille! Yearly tradition from now I hope!
Excellent service. The filet was done perfectly... melts in your mouth.
The Rain threw off the Chef's Course.
The Filet on the Bone was a good cut but over cooked.
Food and service were very good - likely never a “value” but that isn’t why we come to the Cap - we come personally because it has been a family tradition for 20 years. . . And professionally because it is usually pampered perfection.
Other wait staff A+
Had to continuously ask for drinks and refills - no big deal, but when you drop $700, you shouldn’t have to - still tipped 20%
Clearly I’ll still be coming 6-8/year
Love the Cap!
An iconic restaurant in Providence with a nice location overlooking the restaurant. We are vegetarians but although this is a steakhouse decided to give it a try. The tuna was fresh and well prepared with some fine, if unexciting, sauces on the side. Choosing a wine from a tablet was a little annoying, and the service was a bit inattentive (and when they did come, a little intrusive). It was bustling but not full on a Thursday evening. When told in advance that it was a special event, they did a nice job with preparations.
Delicious as usual. Never disappointing. Delicious desserts.
A group next to us was extremely loud making it hard to carry on a conversation.
I had the bone in Filet Mignon which was ordered medium rare but arrived closer to medium.
My wife had scallops which were dry and overdone.
The service was extremely spotty and slow.
Our waiter said he had another group that was taking up his time.
Very disappointing experience.
One of my favorite places for dinner.Service and food is always more than outstanding !! Always my first choice for special occasions.
My friend from Florida was visiting. She was heading home on her birthday so we decided to have lunch at the Capital Grille before her flight. It was a beautiful day so we decided to eat outdoors. The service by Kyle was excellent. The food never disappoints. Highly recommend for any Special Occasion or just to dine at a fabulous place!
Beautiful facility. Great food. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Thanks for making my nephew's 21st birthday a memorable occasion!
Food was excellent, and beautiful setting.
Waiter was very pleasant and helpful.
Service was a little slow and when we returned home we found that my husband's remaining fillet was missing.
Great food and service. It started with the valet parking to being seated in a private booth. Next our waiter Toby greet us with a glass of champagne. The appetizers of shrimp and oysters were outstanding. The main course of filet and the sea bass were perfectly served. A great dining experience.
Amazing food and service!! Nothing compares to the Grille!
