amazing food and service!
Fabulous experience, as always. The food, service and entire experience were all phenomenal.
We usually love Capital Grille and choose to go for special occasions. We went to celebrate my daughter's birthday on Saturday night and although the server was lovely and the food (for the most part) was delicious, my daughter's meal was not up to usual standards. She ordered bone in filet, medium rare. It was delivered and it was grey and overdone. The server was very apologetic and took it back to get her a new one. That filet arrived and it was rare and barely cooked so we had to send it back again. When you choose to go to a restaurant that specializes in steaks, etc. it was a very disappointing experience and affected all of us as we waited to eat so she wasn't eating alone and of course, our food got cold as a consequence.
We had to wait over an hour even with a reservation that was a little annoying as we were celebrating my sisters birthday.
This was a great disappointment. Having dined there before, and having been somewhat disappointed we decided to give the place one more try. It was not impressive .
We had a reservation, but we were told that they were "overbooked", and our table was not ready. We were fortunate; we only had to wait twenty five minutes for our table. Other patrons with reservations told us they had waited thirty to forty five minutes for their tables. Not a good way to procure return business.
I loved everything but I do feel you are quite high priced for me to be a regular attendee. Thus, I can only come on special occasions. And I will do that.
We are frequent diners here. This visit was not a good one. The food was mediocre this night and we were sat in a back room that lacked any semblance of charm. The overall experience was not what we expect of the Capital Grille and we were very disappointed. It was my wife’s birthday and I had called ahead to ensure it was known by the staff. They usually set the table with a note and some glitter etc. they did not do that time but rather came to the table after we were already sitting and sprinkled some glitter in the table. It was awkward and clumsy. Overall it was a very poor experience this time around.
As with every visit to the Capital, it was phenomenal. My guests and I enjoyed our meals as well as our drinks and desserts. Ken Johnson continues to be a great host and is a measuring stick on how an out to eat dining experience should be.
poor service overall, missing food items ordered, over and undercooked food. Price does not reflect service
We had a gift card to use and hadn’t been in a long time. Food was “okay” but is honestly grossly overpriced and we’ve had better meals for half the cost elsewhere. Brussel sprouts have too much candied sauce/salt and were nearly inedible. Lobster Mac and cheese charge should be a crime- paid $18 for macaroni and cheese with one little piece of lobster. Sea bass was fairly good but $48 is crazy. A $100 GC doesn’t get you very far but that’s why Capital Grille attracts certain clientele. The food should be outstanding for the prices. Service was excellent.
Great service! Great food!
Wonderful steak. Noisy environment. Would have chosen a different place for the price.
Always a wonderful experience at the Capital Grille in Providence! The service is exceptional! My husband and I arrived a bit early for our reservation but the hostess was happy to check on our table, and we were able to get a drink in the lounge while waiting and were promptly seated at our table on time. Our server Nicole was so nice and explained the new additions to the menu to us. The tuna tartar tower was wonderful and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Always a wonderful time! We'll be back soon!
This place never disappoints. Outstanding restaurant experience from start to finish.
We had our family in town to celebrate my daughter’s senior night JWU Volleyball Tournament. We came from all over...Columbus OH, Dallas, San Diego, and Portland OR.
We had great service, great wine, and great food. Thank you for making a special night even better!
We had a 6:45 reservation and didn’t get seated until 7:35. And that’s ok, except it was never acknowledged that we waited almost an hour and the staff seemed to not remember us when we approached three separate times.
The Capital Grille in Providence always has a magical feel, you can sit back and relax and be confident that the staff will do whatever they can to provide you with an excellent dining experience. We had Mark and his suggestions led us to try a few new(to us) items that were as enjoyable as our regular order. The hands on approach by the management (Bobby Silva) reaffirms that this is a team effort and that all of the efforts are working in one constant and seamless motion. We had a great night, thank you to the Providence team.
My wife’s birthday. The dining room was very cold and we had to ask to have the heat turned up so my wife could take her coat off. Food taste was excellent, however side items temperature was luke warm. Overall it was a great night excellent service from Maura and a birthday treat plate. We will definitely return.
Steak was over cooked
Birthday... everything was outstanding ! Excited to go again.
Location to convention center & hotels is great. Everything was top notch. Very enjoyable meal.
Waiter was extremely professional... table was set with rose petals for birthday celebration. Food was just fine.
The service was awesome, and the food was really great!
Our server Juliana was fabulous.
Other than having to wait for table 20 minutes everything was great.
Our steak which was ordered medium (warm pink center) was medium well.
Hand crafted Manhattan cocktail great way to start off the evening. Beet salad nicely split for us to share. Evening's special entree of bone-in filet cooked to medium-rare perfection. Ten-ounce filet mignon also cooked as ordered (medium), but too large to finish in one sitting. Cauliflower au gratin very decadent but delicious as was the sauteed spinach (added left-over to doggie bag!). Did save some room for yummy warm chocolate cake served with cherries. Nice end to a Friday night date!
Birthday dinner and she enjoyed it very much.
Great service great food. Staff was very attentive and welcoming to my two young children as well. Celebrating 11 year wedding anniversary. Ken was the best waiter ever.
Amazing food and amazing hospitality. Will definitely return!
Parking attendants, Hostess, Bartender especially our Waiter was Perfection!
The food was outstanding. A very special restaurant for special occasions. Thank you!
I could live without the animal heads, just saying....
It was my daughter’s 8th birthday and she was thrilled with the table and the special note!
Food was average - steak was not cooked accurately
The chain can be inconsistent from location to location but for the reputation and price this was not an experience that I wouldnt want to repeat
Excellent as usual the Providence never fails to be a outstanding dinning experience great wait staff and cooking staff
Dan our waiter couldn’t have been better!
Service and food was wonderful! This was a special occasion one in which a reservation was made several weeks in advance. There were many activities going ion the area and we could not get to the valet to park the car. It would have been made the night less stressful and have been an outstanding evening to have known in advance we would need extra time and the address of where they moved the valet service to.
Capital Grille never disappoints, and Maura is an outstanding server with a great personality. Whether your occasion be special or everyday dining, the combination of Maura and CG is nothing short of perfection!!
Great night, our server Jessie was the best.
Great service, never disappoints
