2 birthdays and one anniversary
Filet was not to par as we have been to restaurant many times. We still had a wonderful evening with our children!
What a great location in the heart of Providence.
Great food , awesome atmosphere and the service was impeccable
The attentiveness of the staff, ambience, and food quality were excellent. Wonderful service. Made our special occasion very enjoyable and memorable.
Once again, our waiter was rushed and did not listen well.
The restaurant was half empty so no excuse.
Food was good, not outstanding
Won’t be back to the Providence location again.
Captal Grille is always s fabulous experience from the perfection of the food to the outstanding service provided. My only disappointment is that the lighting is too dark for me.
Such a great place for a special occasion. They even surprised us with desserts for our birthday celebration.
Hosted our company holiday party here- they can manage a crowd- we had 22-ordered off the menu and zero hiccups- the seafood tower is special ! great cocktails/ knowledgeable about their wine-list too- ask for Joe one of the best waiters in RI-
We were disappointed with our server. Rushed, didn’t listen.
We as a few allergies and he didn’t’t ask before he brought the ‘amuse bouch’
Our meal was good. The room we were in was drafty with a tv screen with a fireplace show. Tacky!
The food and service is always impeccable .
Who would have thought, on Thanksgiving Saturday,we would be the only lunch party!
Trrrible parking conditions for lunch. No valet parking. I will not return.
We waited half an hour although we had a reservation. Nobody checked on us an d there was no place to sit. Then they put us in a back room that felt like we were jailed. No apologies or a check by the manager. I really think if you charge the prices that you do everything needs to be first rate and it was far far from that. We didn’t go to Chili’s.
Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary which happened to be another busy Saturday night for the restaurant. Table nicely decorated with rose petals and offered a celebratory toast of Preseco to go with the chef's appetizer...hadn't even finished that before our shrimp cocktail arrived and our appetizer plates were whisked away with a bite remaining...talk about prompt service! Five large shrimps perfect for sharing, followed by hot towels to cleanse our hands. Filet mignon cooked to perfection as was the sirloin. Very glad to learn of the half-portion sides available so chose sauteed spinach and a half-order of the mushrooms as well...no leftovers of the sides, but 10 oz filet did come home for another lunch. Nice note from the chef in the doggie bag with thanks for liking our meal enough to take the rest home...cute touch. Presented a Happy Anniversary dark chocolate cake plate to go with our decaf cappuccinos.
Food and service excellent
I had a wonderful time especially with the waiter Dan Beam
YOU GUYS ALWAYS HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK, WE HAD QUESTS FROM SOUTH KOREA AND THEY LOVED IT.
We had another amazing experience. Our server, Dan B was over the top making us feel special as we celebrated my daughters birthday. It was a wonderful experience.
amazing food and service!
Fabulous experience, as always. The food, service and entire experience were all phenomenal.
We usually love Capital Grille and choose to go for special occasions. We went to celebrate my daughter's birthday on Saturday night and although the server was lovely and the food (for the most part) was delicious, my daughter's meal was not up to usual standards. She ordered bone in filet, medium rare. It was delivered and it was grey and overdone. The server was very apologetic and took it back to get her a new one. That filet arrived and it was rare and barely cooked so we had to send it back again. When you choose to go to a restaurant that specializes in steaks, etc. it was a very disappointing experience and affected all of us as we waited to eat so she wasn't eating alone and of course, our food got cold as a consequence.
Great as always.
We had to wait over an hour even with a reservation that was a little annoying as we were celebrating my sisters birthday.
This was a great disappointment. Having dined there before, and having been somewhat disappointed we decided to give the place one more try. It was not impressive .
We had a reservation, but we were told that they were "overbooked", and our table was not ready. We were fortunate; we only had to wait twenty five minutes for our table. Other patrons with reservations told us they had waited thirty to forty five minutes for their tables. Not a good way to procure return business.
I loved everything but I do feel you are quite high priced for me to be a regular attendee. Thus, I can only come on special occasions. And I will do that.
We are frequent diners here. This visit was not a good one. The food was mediocre this night and we were sat in a back room that lacked any semblance of charm. The overall experience was not what we expect of the Capital Grille and we were very disappointed. It was my wife’s birthday and I had called ahead to ensure it was known by the staff. They usually set the table with a note and some glitter etc. they did not do that time but rather came to the table after we were already sitting and sprinkled some glitter in the table. It was awkward and clumsy. Overall it was a very poor experience this time around.
As with every visit to the Capital, it was phenomenal. My guests and I enjoyed our meals as well as our drinks and desserts. Ken Johnson continues to be a great host and is a measuring stick on how an out to eat dining experience should be.
poor service overall, missing food items ordered, over and undercooked food. Price does not reflect service
We had a gift card to use and hadn’t been in a long time. Food was “okay” but is honestly grossly overpriced and we’ve had better meals for half the cost elsewhere. Brussel sprouts have too much candied sauce/salt and were nearly inedible. Lobster Mac and cheese charge should be a crime- paid $18 for macaroni and cheese with one little piece of lobster. Sea bass was fairly good but $48 is crazy. A $100 GC doesn’t get you very far but that’s why Capital Grille attracts certain clientele. The food should be outstanding for the prices. Service was excellent.
Great service! Great food!
Wonderful steak. Noisy environment. Would have chosen a different place for the price.
Always a wonderful experience at the Capital Grille in Providence! The service is exceptional! My husband and I arrived a bit early for our reservation but the hostess was happy to check on our table, and we were able to get a drink in the lounge while waiting and were promptly seated at our table on time. Our server Nicole was so nice and explained the new additions to the menu to us. The tuna tartar tower was wonderful and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Always a wonderful time! We'll be back soon!
This place never disappoints. Outstanding restaurant experience from start to finish.
We had our family in town to celebrate my daughter’s senior night JWU Volleyball Tournament. We came from all over...Columbus OH, Dallas, San Diego, and Portland OR.
We had great service, great wine, and great food. Thank you for making a special night even better!
We had a 6:45 reservation and didn’t get seated until 7:35. And that’s ok, except it was never acknowledged that we waited almost an hour and the staff seemed to not remember us when we approached three separate times.
The Capital Grille in Providence always has a magical feel, you can sit back and relax and be confident that the staff will do whatever they can to provide you with an excellent dining experience. We had Mark and his suggestions led us to try a few new(to us) items that were as enjoyable as our regular order. The hands on approach by the management (Bobby Silva) reaffirms that this is a team effort and that all of the efforts are working in one constant and seamless motion. We had a great night, thank you to the Providence team.
My wife’s birthday. The dining room was very cold and we had to ask to have the heat turned up so my wife could take her coat off. Food taste was excellent, however side items temperature was luke warm. Overall it was a great night excellent service from Maura and a birthday treat plate. We will definitely return.
Steak was over cooked
Birthday... everything was outstanding ! Excited to go again.
Location to convention center & hotels is great. Everything was top notch. Very enjoyable meal.
Waiter was extremely professional... table was set with rose petals for birthday celebration. Food was just fine.
The service was awesome, and the food was really great!
