The Capital Grille - Plano Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed in the quality of the steaks vs cost.it was Sunday night at 7:15 and not very busy. Sides were ample and good. Deserts were good. Cocktails were ok. Wine list was good, although a bit pricey. Been for New Years the last 2 years and this visit was a few notches down from past visits.
We will most likely not go back.
The Capital Grille - Plano is one of my favorite places to go for a nice dinner with my husband or friends. It is quite a drive for us (the Dallas location is actually closer) but we don't mind making the drive when we know we are in for a delicious meal paired with great service. They always go above to make sure we have a great experience. There is a particular item that is no longer on the menu, but as long as I call in advance to make sure they have the ingredients they will make it for me. How wonderful is that? I have never had a meal I have not been impressed with and the service is top notch, even within it's own brand. This is my FAVORITE location nationally. Love this place! Keep up the great work.
By the time we finished our meal/wine, we were the only ones in the restaurant but the Capital Grille team were so nice and accommodating (as always)! We enjoyed a fantastic meal and service by Brandon! Also had a great art lesson about the wonderful pieces they have hanging on the walls. Capital Grille is a fantastic restaurant and always so reliable!!!
Awesome date night place. We both had the filet and lobster tail...delicious, our steaks were cooked to perfection. My husband had the clam chowder and loved it! I started with the wedge salad, it was good, although the bacon they use is not my favorite. I prefer thin crispy bacon and this was very thick bacon. I still managed to eat it all tho. We also shared the brussel sprouts which were awesome! One of my favorite places to eat with my favorite person, my husband!
The service was spectacular drinks were good. However, I ordered one of the steaks from the chefs specialtys which was the one covered in Gorgonzola cheese. It was cooked the way I ordered it but the meat had so much gristle and was very chewy I could not eat it.
Best restaurant in town. My Kona steak was wonderful, as always. My husband tried the special of the day (Scallops and Risotto) and said it was the best he'd had. (and he's very picky about his scallops) I like the wine list because the prices go from reasonable to outrageous. We go for the reasonable. They never try to 'upsale' me. Just one more reason to return. There's so many reasons!
Outstanding experience overall. Food was perfect in every way. Service was excellent, with good recommendations for both food and wine by the glass. Did not care much for the flourless chocolate cake (too dense, like fudge) but everything else was fantastic.
I consider this to be a high end restaurant and as such I have high expectations. The filet was fantastic but luke warm, green beans were cold. I had a glass of wine to start the meal, service was slow and I was not able to get a second glass of wine until I was almost done with my meal. I sat eating my lunch with my wine glass empty for most of the lunch with no one ever coming by to check on us. In the end taking a colleague for a retirement lunch, 3 people, was $250 and poor service.......disappointing service but the food quality was good. All in all I would not recommend, there are restaurants with similar food quality and much better service. If you want good service for a much lower price go to Houston's on Beltline, in terms of service and food quality they set the bar.
It was a great choice for post-Christmas dining. The service was beyond excellent... thanks Christopher for being extremely attentive and accommodating. We truly enjoyed the New York strip, Porterhouse and brussel sprouts. Wonderful preparation of the brussel sprouts.
When the bread and the service is the best part of the meal, you know you may not be in the best place for dinner. The bread was great!
Meat was not seasoned. Pretty bland. Just a hunk of meat. Not special. Where was the butter for the lobster? Brussels sprouts seemed like a good idea, but too sweet and not the best. I make a similar recipe. I would be glad to share...
Parmesan fries were lukewarm and not great. Just a cold French fry really.
Lump crab just ok. Nothing to write home about.
Cheesecake brought home was delicious.
Our server was excellent!
We are glad we tried this restaurant, but we have no need to go back.
I would recommend that you no longer serve the bone-in filet. I ordered mine medium rare and it was raw although the bone was well done. The meat didn't resemble a filet in any way. Fortunately the waiter was able to remove the cost from my bill.
We had two waiters during our visit and they didn't communicate our order even though they had a computer read-out of what we had ordered. Eventually we got things worked out but the dining experience was not up to your normal standards and clearly not up to our expectations.
