Great job by Amber and her crew in suggesting food and drink and attending to our needs.
All 5 dinners were excellent. The Stolli drink was terrific (thanks to Amber for recommending). Plus, and most important, we celebrated 2 birthdays - my wife and my youngest son - and both were made to feel special. Terrific job all around. Thanks Amber and crew!
Excellent food, and experience. I’ve gotten the Filet - Oscar three times now, and it’s still my favorite dish of all time.
Great food, excellent wine list and great service. Always can count on the CG!
Birthday -great time. Food was very good
Totally AWESOME everything was superb. I'll be back for sure.
Our server Ryan was outstanding and attentive, the busser Q was incredibly friendly and engaging. Everything was A++ except we were seated by the door and it was cold from the constant draft and the cast iron shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. Wine excellent my family and I had a wonderful time.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and the made everything special. The food was fabulous
If I'm paying $50 for a steak the least they can do is keep the ladies room stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. Both were out while I was there. I alerted the staff, and 15 minutes later the bathroom still had not been serviced
Fantastic dinner for a small family celebration. CG was very kind to recognize our special evening. Bruce, our server, was very conscientious and professional. We don’t get into town often but will return again on our next visit.
the capital grill is our family's choice for dining and especially for special events. the hosts are wonderful and enthusiastic. mr. hickton and others always make it a point to check with us and to be sure our meal is ok. we have been waited on the past several visits by "Jade" and she is wonderful
Amazing service. Our waiter gave us free calamari because we traveled so far from NJ to see the penguins. Burata salad was amazing and the lobster Mac and cheese is a must. We will be back next year for dinner and a game
Best steak in Pittsburgh. We’ve been to them all....Mortons, Ruth Cris, Eddie Merlot, etc. Capital Grille is a cut above.
Our waiter Bruce was awesome and Cassidy was a delight. It was my birthday and I got an amazing gift and desert!!
We always enjoy our dinner and most of all the service (Horacio).
Sat next to the cooking station, very noisy and not very conducive to great conversation. Took away from the evening.
Food was fabulous and the service provided by Koi was even better. John Cornwall, a manager, stopped by our table and provided some insight into the wine. It was a great experience.
Bad service. Okay food.
The food is great, even though it seems that prices have gone up recently and portion sizes have decreased. All in all it is a great place if you want a quality meal with a great ambiance.
Service, food, atmosphere cannot be beat! Our first time there and will return. Valet parking certainly is an asset. Not a place for children...had none with us...just saying!!
My husband and I had a date night out and chose capital grille because I had never been there and wanted to try the food. We both got a filet and mine was good but my husband asked for his between medium rare and medium and I don’t know that our server understood what my husband requested and his filet came out medium rare and had to be cooked longer. The problem with doing that, is the filet never is as good once it’s put back on the grill. He got the bone in filet Oscar style and for $72 it just wasn’t worth the price. Also, we spilt a side of sams mashed potatoes and they were so lumpy and pretty tasteless. The wedge salad we each got to start with was fantastic though. We ended up spending over $300 between wine and food and it was just not that great. We will definitely not go back, i feel like we paid for the atmosphere not the quality of food.
We so enjoyed our dining experience at the Capital Grille. The atmosphere was cozy (we sat in the bar area)and the music set a nice atmosphere. The food was excellent! We had the chance to try several dishes and each one was better than the last. I have to say our server, Jade, was excellent! She was personable and attentive. She was well informed and willing to share her knowledge of the food and wines on the menu - very professional. I have already recommended the Capital Grille to several of my friends and family and recommend that they request a table in Jade's section.
Our steaks were charred black. I’m not sure if this is the usual, but they were not at my expectation. I would not return.
Two co-workers and I met a former colleague to catch up over lunch. I had the cobb salad with steak. The food was fantastic, but slow even though it was not very busy that day. The waitress was kind & apologetic about the delay. I'm sure I'll go back anyway because the food is great.
Wonderful as always!!!!
Great food. Hard to get beverage refills
One of the best meals we have had! Great service, too.
This was my third time at the Capital Grille and it remains a fine restaurant. The service is impeccable and our wait staff headed by Margie was excellent. There were 4 of us total in the party, each enjoying a different meal. However, I will only comment on my meal since I have some complaints.
First, there is a nice selection on the menu but everything is ala carte. Appetizers are mainly seafood, something that does not appeal to me personally but others find great. There is a nice selection of soup and salad. The French Onion soup is very good, with a nice covering of cheese (bowl version) and a nice large slice of bread. Tasty with sufficient saltiness and not an overwhelming amount of onion. Some restaurants overdo the onion thinking that has to be the center of the soup.
Several steaks highlight the menu. I had the filet with steak butter. I opted to not take a rub and that was likely a mistake. I ordered the filet medium but it was a bit more medium well. The char on the outside was good though a corner of the steak was overly charred. Steak butter did nothing to add to the flavor and when I return (and I will) I plan on adding one of the rubs.
My companions had filet with a special rub, NY Strip and Salmon and all seemed to enjoy. We added sides of asparagus, mashed potatoes and potatoes au gratin to share. Sides are not sufficient for 4 people but 3 seemed right for sharing. The only side I tried was the au gratin and it was fine if not a bit too milky. Not sure what the flavor was there but it masked the potato flavoring. The other 3 enjoyed their sides.
We opted to not have desert but instead went across the street to the Milkshake Factory (excellent). All in all, a good experience with the service overcoming the shortcomings I found in my food (my companions enjoyed theirs immensely). I will return.
Every time we devote an evening to the Capital Grille it is memorable. We start in the bar with their very professional and friendly bartenders. Great wines and my martini is always well made. For dinner our steaks were unsurpassed. I chose the Kobe bone in Strip rare. Perfectly cooked of course and wonderfully flavorful. Kelley, our server, was friendly, attentive and helpful. Could not have been a better night unless it had been free!
Excellent anniversary dinner. Extremely friendly staff and were on top of accommodating gluten-free needs.
Ncaa day. Good ending.
Still the creme de la creme of fine dining experiences.
When you deserve a great night out with that someone special this is the right place!
We had a reservation at 7:30 and were not seated until 8:15. This definitely put a damper on the whole evening.
Tuna tartare was too salty and didn’t have enough mango sauce. calamari was deep fried with breadcrumbs as plating when menu said it was pan fried. Manager changed to Stir fried with jalapeños. Was ok but could taste the calamari wasn’t fresh. Also asked for oil and balsamic as dressing for our salad. Waiter gave us balsamic instead of aged balsamic which I would expect from an establishment such as capital grille. Waiter didn’t apologize. Just brought us aged balsamic as we asked. Our food took an hour after we ordered to arrive. My salmon was overcooked. Told the waiter and all he said was he’ll let the manager know. Manager didn’t apologize and just said he’ll take off my salmon and calamari from our bill. I appreciated that but I rather have a good quality chargeable meal than a free poor quality meal. Gesture by the manager is very much appreciated. Just wished we didn’t have to wait for an hour to complain about our food.
My son had the tenderloin and lobster tail. He was happy with his meal.
Management and service were great. The kitchen over cooked 3/4 meals. Two of us sent it back-it was really not edible, and the steaks that came later were delicious. Overall, I really enjoy the ambiance, and the service and management are always fantastic. Our server Koy was really good!
I found the food to be just okay. I expected more of a taste experience for the prices.
The staff was nothing but polite, kind and professional! Service was fabulous, food was perfection and the hospitality made us feel right at home! It was a memorable 2nd anniversary dinner!
The noise level from two nearby tables was extremely loud, and made conversation very difficult. Prices of all items were very high....too high for even a business dinner. Wine list was very good, but not well priced.
Our service was amazing but the food wasn’t as good as in past visits.
Ambiance and food and drink- can't get better than this place! The cheescake is to die for, save a little room!!
