The Capital Grille - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
I loved dry aged sirloin steak and bread the most.
I work in Philadelphia for many years but this is the first time I dined in the capital grille, came in at restaurant week and lunch time. Overall, I gave good recommendations for this restaurant.
My sister family in Boston and another sister in California will visit this restaurant.
Waiter Bob is very professional and pleasant.
I will come back.
Hi, our server was professional but not very personable.
We ordered the lobster bisque; it was tepid at best which made it less enjoyable & my salmon was over cooked. I’d stopped going to CG because they weren’t meeting my expectations and this visit proves why.
We had a reservation, arrived before our reservation time to check in, and yet still had to wait 40 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Being pregnant, and not even being seated until 40 minutes after our reservation time was extremely frustrating. The food was delicious, I would recommend so long as you are not in a rush or pregnant and starving.
Pretty great food, went there for restaurant week. The waiter seemed really standoffish to us, and a little rude.. He put all the effort into the older, seemingly wealthier couple at the table next to us. He would try to make them conversations and be very warm, but with us he seemed to care less and all the charm was gone. My boyfriend and I are very polite people, it was just fustrating to see that kind of contrast a table over... I guess he wanted a better tip from them. The food was great though! Best mashed potatoes you'll ever have.
Disclaimer - It is restaurant week so I hope this is the excuse for the burnt food & long wait times.
This was my worst Capital Grill experience ever. I usually go to Capital Grill Cherry Hill, but decided to make reservations for 10 at the Philly location. Server was awesome but food wasn’t. It took about 25 minutes before we were served our first course (salads & some appetizers). After our salads, another 30 minutes before our entrees came. We get our entrees and our salmon (3 guest) are over grilled and flacky. We order our side dishes and the lobster Mac & cheese is burnt. At first bite, I thought it was me until someone else said the said thing. I get this dish all the time, however, this time all the cheese was burnt... it was not cheesy and anyone who has had this dish knows what I mean. We didn’t complain because it was so packed and we knew it would be another 1/2 hr before we got another meal. The restaurant week menu only has 4 options and we all ordered from that menu... placed our orders quickly. All in all, the wait times between the courses were annoying. We were seated at 7pm and left at around 10:40pm.
Forgot to add that the restaurant was accommodating when our entire party didn’t arrive on time. Table was held for 1/2 hr until entire party arrived. Also, they decorated the table beautifully with a hand written card in the center of table for celebrant.
My sister and I had a great dinning experience at Captial Grille. Out waiter, Mario, was amazing. He asked if we were on a time crunch and took the chief so that we could be out at a specific time. We did go during restaurant week and ordered from the menu for that week for lunch and I really enjoyed the food. The only real fault with the Capital Grille beside location and finding parking would be the price of the food. If I did not do restaurant week I do believe I would not have paid the original prices for the food, but I am also a college student so I do fancier dinning when I can. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, with delicious dessert and food.
The hosts were very accomadating to the change in party size. The waiter Rob provoded exceptional servocd the entire night. Even for a guest who was arriving after close, he made sure she got in. He and the rest of the servers were very friendly. It made my birthday extra special!!!
I love the Capital Grille. It truly is one of my favorite dining locations. Again, a wonderful experience...but no toilet paper or paper towels in the bathroom. For a restaurant this exclusive, this should never happen. It was a bit of a turn off. Otherwise, stellar.
Awesome birthday dinner at Capital Grille-Philadelphia. Rob was an amazing server. His attention to detail was impeccable, and gave some of the best service I’ve had in any establishment. Steaks were cooked perfectly and sides were awesome. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
Love this place. I was craving a knock-your-socks-off level of steak supremacy and Capital Grille always, always delivers! Get the steak au poivre with Courvoisier cream, and the brussel sprouts and bacon on the side - it will not disappoint! The parmesan truffle fries were pretty top notch, too. All in all, it was a really lovely dinner.
Great location. First time I went the food was not so good but dessert was great. I went back for NYE and Food tasted great! However, my husband and I asked for a medium well steak and it was more like a medium rear. Instead of pink in the middle it was still a lot of blood on the steak. I showed the waiter and he immediately took it back since I had explained to him exactly how I wanted before I even order. When he can back with the food my steak was completely burned. Unfortunately, I think I'm done going to this place.
