The Capital Grille - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time going to this establishment. I had a gift card. I had heard so much about this place. We were totally disappointed with the food and service. The food was not good at all. The service/waiter was not that attentive at all. The cocktail was the best part of the meal. I will not be going back there no recommending it to anyone.
I had dinner at capitol grill last evening. I ordered on of the specials "sea bass in some mushroom sauce". When I cut into the fish I saw that it was raw. I told the server to send it back. I waited and the manager came out and apologized. He asked if I wanted something while I wait. I agreed on a Caesar salad. When they brought my cooked sea bass out, it was the same piece over cooked in the same sauce the undercooked sat in. I could not eat it. They took it off the bill. Is that usual and customary for fine restaurants?
Our server, Robert Ballard, was excellent as always. The entire dining experience was very good, with one exception.
I ordered my 10oz filet well done and it arrived medium rare. Because I like to change preparations on occasion I did not send it back, however, I was slightly disappointed because I preferred well done. Overall, excellent as always experience and well worth the value.
The food was outstanding. Great wine choices. The only thing that was an issue was the service it was not what we normally had. We waited for 10 or 15 minutes for drinks and to order appetizers and not all the appetizers came out together. We had to wait for the hot apps but the cold apps were served
How enjoyable and delicious to dine at the excellent Capital Grille Restaurant in Philadelphia. We selected the pre-theatre dinner and had ample portions of outstanding cuisine. Our dinner included large tasty salads, well-prepared salmon and superb steak, shared sides of green beans and mashed potatoes, and scrumptious desserts of creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake.
The restaurant is decorated in a lovely traditional style with dark woods and attractive paintings. Tables are comfortable and private. The service is also exceptional--our friendly waiter Bobbie efficiently addressed our every need and the congenial manager David Lash makes sure to stop and chat with diners. This restaurant is a wonderful and popular choice for any occasion. Highly Recommended!!
Lobster tails were not cooked thoroughly, sides were served cool, not even warm. The steak dinners were excellent but even after reheating the lobster tails only one dinner was served warm and cooked. Been to the Capital Grille many times, always a great experience- not this time.
Our waiter, Eric did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and special. His attention to our needs was spot on and the interaction was warm and inviting. Knowing we had tickets to a show after our meal, he was most attentive to ensuring we made the show without feeling rushed. The porterhouse steak was fabulous and cooked to perfection.
A great standard when you want to be assured all in your party will have a great meal and leave with a smile. Now if you want to have a phenomenal experience ask for Mary, she was our server and we loved her, professional, but personal, warm and charming too!!
Excellent! We ordered off their Theater Menu and everything was great! Portions were generous and everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was personable and helpful in telling us where the theater was. I hadn't been to the Capital Grille in a very long time and it was just as great as I remembered. We'll definitely be back....but won't wait so long until our next visit!
The restaurant was absolutely perfect. Presentation the food, the perfect place to sit. But what makes it something we both will remember is the time that our waitress took to talk to my wife, I believe her name was Tamara and she was wonderful extremely friendly a genuine super nice person. Gave us some pointers on places to visit while we were in town. Had perfect selections from the drinks to the appetizers to the main course. The Capital Grille is know for the food yes it was perfect! But the time she took to actually connect with us makes it extremely special. You don't find people like that in this day and age. When we travel back we will make sure we stop and have dinner there especially requesting her. A real gem that makes the restaurant shine!
