The Capital Grille - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
Service was spectacular. The waiters were there to address every need , courteous and friendly. The atmosphere was very soothing and quiet for a nice relaxing date with my wife. The food was delicious and follow that with a special birthday surprise for my wife after our meal. Capital Grille made my wife's birthday very special.
I was disappointed with my meal, the other people in the party enjoyed their meal. So for me it wasn't good, I was totally disappointed and won't return. This was the first time at Capital Grille for me, and heard so many great thing about the food very disappointed, too bad!
Our most recent visit, Nov. 2017, was a rare hiccup for a normally stellar restaurant. We have eaten at Capital Grille in Philadelphia many times, and have brought guests. But this time, we were disappointed in the entrees. I always order steak, but this time I ordered salmon, and it came to the table raw inside. I sent it back, and it came back to the table burnt. To be fair, the server offered to replace the entrée, but I refused. My husband ordered the filet mignon medium well, and what he got was a well done steak with inedible burnt edges.
The appetizers were good. Service and ambience were superb. Entrees this time, not so much.
This was my first time going to this establishment. I had a gift card. I had heard so much about this place. We were totally disappointed with the food and service. The food was not good at all. The service/waiter was not that attentive at all. The cocktail was the best part of the meal. I will not be going back there no recommending it to anyone.
I had dinner at capitol grill last evening. I ordered on of the specials "sea bass in some mushroom sauce". When I cut into the fish I saw that it was raw. I told the server to send it back. I waited and the manager came out and apologized. He asked if I wanted something while I wait. I agreed on a Caesar salad. When they brought my cooked sea bass out, it was the same piece over cooked in the same sauce the undercooked sat in. I could not eat it. They took it off the bill. Is that usual and customary for fine restaurants?
Our server, Robert Ballard, was excellent as always. The entire dining experience was very good, with one exception.
I ordered my 10oz filet well done and it arrived medium rare. Because I like to change preparations on occasion I did not send it back, however, I was slightly disappointed because I preferred well done. Overall, excellent as always experience and well worth the value.
The food was outstanding. Great wine choices. The only thing that was an issue was the service it was not what we normally had. We waited for 10 or 15 minutes for drinks and to order appetizers and not all the appetizers came out together. We had to wait for the hot apps but the cold apps were served
