The Capital Grille - NY- Wall Street Ratings and Reviews
It was ok not too bad the waiter was nice but he didn't come around much to ask if there's anything else that we wanted or thought of getting. The steaks that were ordered medium rare and well done were opposite of what was requested. We didn't want to be of trouble so we kept it will cook it over at home. The mojito is extra "leafy" and the limes are mediocre it tasted like a mojito from BenihanaS. Other than that we were not rushed we felt comfortable & loved the ambiance. The prices are great
In my experience, Capital Grille is always hit or miss. This was my first time at this particular location. Unfortunately it was a miss this time around. My steak was overly cooked other than in the center, and the creamed spinach was luke warm. The clam chowder also had more potatoes than I would care for. I always want to live Capital Grille because when it is good, it is good. This time did not do it for me.
The setting was ok in the heart of wall street. I dined on New Year’s Eve and perhaps due to increased work at the night , our food came almost cold. I have a higher expectation from such an establishment. I have dined in cg in Washington DC and the experience was amazing.
This is the second year we have spent NYE dinner at this location. It was just as great the second time around. For the most part there was plenty of space between diners so it wasn’t too loud or too cramped. The food was delicious. It’s always hard because there are too many things on the menu we want to try.
I had eaten at this location on a previous trip to NYC. Our meal at that visit was wonderful. This visit was a huge disappointment. There were 5 of us and we each ordered the $50 filet. The steaks were so dry. Looking at the steaks, you would think they were cooked correctly - did not look over cooked, but the looks were deceiving. All 5 steaks were the same. I was so disappointed especially since I recommended we eat there. However, the sides were very good as well as our server. We should have told our server and sent them back. I wish that we had.
We ordered some soups (french onion, New England clam chowder) and they were small (cup size instead of bowl for over $11) and extremely salty. Likewise the crab and lobste cake was over cooked and also salty.
Steaks were good but the side we got - caramelized brussel sprouts were extremely salty and also sugary- not good at all.
Service was very good though - friendly and attentive
I'm a frequent diner at The Capital Grille restaurants. Took a client to the Wall Street location for a holiday dinner celebration. We were a party of 7. This is a beautiful venue. As always the food was delicious. The service was surprisingly not up to expectations. Steaks were set in front of the wrong diners. The order for one of the steaks was not put in correctly and it took about 10 minutes for that person's steak to come out (while everyone else was eating somewhat uncomfortably). We were given free deserts and port wine for this mistake. Nice gesture, but I'd prefer to have received the high level of service I've come to expect from TCG.
Our server, Eddie, was wonderful! He was very patient with our group of 6. The mushroom bisque and swordfish entree were delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection. Others in the party had the lobster bisque, wedge salad (huge portion!) and salmon. No complaints.
Will definitely come back when I'm in the area.
I went there for my birthday on 12/5 and it was fabulous. I had the shellfish platter for a appetizer and the lamp chips with mac and cheese for dinner. The food was amazing. It was crowded so it did take a while to find my waitress. Also, I felt as if I was too close to the front door as people who just came in would stand near my table and some would stare directly at me. Besides this issue, the atmosphere was cozy and perfect for this type of season☺️☺️☺️
I booked this reservation for my parents to celebrate both of their birthdays and they went above and beyond to make sure they felt celebrated, confetti on the table, drinks, cake, a card... My parents were so thrilled and had such a lovely night. Thank you for making them feel so special!
Went here for Parent's 50th Anniversary. Booked on OpenTable noting the event. The restaurant went above and beyond with a quiet corner table, with festive heart decorations scattered on the table. Keepsake menus noting their 50th Anniversary were sitting on the tables, as well. The food, the waiter and the ambiance were all fantastic, and helped make the evening even more special. All in all, everyone had a fantastic celebratory dinner. Would recommend the Capital Grille to anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion.
Restaurant was great. The one bad thing is we had a reservation, but had to wait an hour for our table. They did make up for it by giving us complimentary appetizers for 12 people. Turkey dinner was a lil dry, but everything else was great! Would recommend for friends. Also the kids love the valet doors downstairs. They thought that was cool. It’s ok for kids but more of a adult atmosphere.
The food was very expensive and was not very good quality. It was warmed over. Service was not very good as our waiter disappeared for about 15 minutes. We had to ask another waiter if we could get something to drink and some silverware. When you spend several hundred dollars on a Meal for a family of 5 you would expect good food and service.
