Unfriendly greeter upon arrival started the evening off pretty poorly. Remainder of service and food was very average.
Always good food and the best service here.
Great service by Derek. My generous poor glass was never empty. New MP Adam made us feel welcome and important. The summer restaurant week menu is a great bargain.
Our server Sara Germain was attentive and professional.
Went with friends for the Generous Pour.
Will definitely be back next year for this yearly event. Waitress was awesome.
Can’t miss on the food. Overall a real fun & enjoyable evening!
Great service and ambiance. Everyone was nice and accommodating.
Restaurant week - service was a little slow but food was great as always.
If you go, ask for Donovan he is the best server and will provide you with an experience!
The Capital Grill rarely disappoints. I had the salmon with polenta and sweet corn. It was cooked perfectly!
Service is always attentive.
The restaurant week prie fixed menu was disappointing. Unlike in the past, the desert was dropped. What was even more disappointing was the minuscule piece of filet mignon served with the salad. You really are paying for salad. One can understand if the desert was dropped to manage cost but cutting down on the steak piece too - very disappointing.
I have been to many Capital Grills which normally is pretty consistent with good service and food. The service and overall experience I had in the Wall Street location was horrible. Staff was incompetent, unattentive and slow. I was with a party that have never been to capital grill and waiter never bothered to explain the menu style, options (like restaurant week menu availability) and the generous pour; I had to request the restaurant week menu and explain all the options to the table. Staff was not attentive at all and the food to forever even though the restaurant was not even busy. We were with a child who was starving and her food came after all of our. The generous pour experience was awful, defiantly not a pairing as I had it in other capital grills, and we were never asked our thoughts on the wine either. On top of it all, this restaurant is a B rating which we noticed after dinner l, which totally makes sense, if they staff is that bad on the floor, I can only imagine what they do on the kitchen.
Overall very poor experience. My recommendation is that if you want to go to a Capital grill, go uptown or any other location other than this Wall Street one.
Great food and service. Totally professional operation.
On the spur of the moment, I decided to drop in after work and take advantage of the Restaurant Week special menu. Given the situation - a single diner taking advantage of a special deal on a hopping, Friday night - I have expected to be invisible and ignored. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Instead, my server Marlena and her colleagues treated me like royalty. I received exceptional, attentive, and warm service from the moment that I walked through the door until I left. That treatment plus the delicious food and sensational live jazz music made for an exceptional experience. I’ll be back - with friends.
Absolutely delightful restaurant week experience. Generous portion and amazing flavors. Excellent service.
Great service. Amazing food. Wonderful live music. Bone-in was incredible! Sides also delicious. A+ all around.
Back for another bday lunch for my clients, and it's restaurant week too! So good good at value. Thanks to my waiter Derik for making it extra special for my clients!
Cory our waiter was excellent. We will definitely be back
Went here for dinner during Restaurant Week to celebrate my birthday. Nice old style steak house in lower Manhattan with lots of dark wood paneling, 2 floors, some cozy booths on the second floor, and great Tiffany style chandeliers. The limited $42/person fixed price dinner menu was excellent - had lettuce wedge salad and NE clam chowder appetizers, followed by filet mignon entrees with green bean sides, and flourless chocolate espresso cakes for dessert - all were exceptional. They were offering something called The Generous Pour, a selection of 3 white and 4 red wines, which was unlimited number of glasses and could be mixed and matched as desired, at $28/person. Wonderful way to experience a variety of great wines at an exceptional price. Our server Sam was extremely helpful, pleasant, professional, and very knowledgeable re: the wines. Restaurant Week choices can be iffy, but this ended up being an exceptional experience. Would return for regular prices.
the occasion was a birthday and the welcoming statements were so surprising and provided a very touchy tone. TIMOTHY Chuck was the most attentive, knowledgeable and a very appreciated "aim to make the celebration special" attitude. The food and wine, options and accompanying explanations were top notch It was our first time, but definitely we will be back.
Best tuna I ever had. Service was fantastic. Decor was lovely as well.
The food was fabulous, enjoyed the generous pour, wait staff was excellent, always available when needed. The atmosphere was energetic but quiet. Definitely dining at Capital Grille again.
Always pleasant to have dinner at the Capital Grille at wall st!
We went for lunch celebrating a colleague’s birthday. When we were seated and told the captain about the birthday, he came over with decorations for the table, a card for the birthday celebrant, and at the end of the meal they served a beautiful dessert with candles and then didn’t charge for it. They could not have been nicer or more welcoming. The service was excellent, the food and wine delicious and the whole experience was so lovely.
A go-to-spot to meet for a business lunch or dinner or just to meet up with friends. Service and food are always on the mark.
Generous pour was amazing. Would definitely do it again. Sara was great and will be coming back just to get her as our server.
The restaurant week special didn't provide you with many options and didn't include dessert! I feel that one would normally pay $29 or less for the options provided. Sadly, restaurant week doesn't seem like much of a deal anymore.
The food and restaurant were good however. The service was outstanding.
Amazing ! The lobster tail, steak, mashed potatoes, and desert was delicious !
Great as ever. Thanks .
I didn't expect the bday decor on table, that was really thoughtful! I prefer taking my clients at late lunch because the place is not noisy, convenient because my office is in the bldg.
Giving my overall experience at the Capital Grille 3 stars because apparently when I booked dinner for two, I did it through the restaurant week link on the NYC website. Capital Grille in a tactless manner puts everyone who does this in their downstairs space. The space is somewhat elegant but has an out of sight basement feel. After dinner, my friend and I rose up the stairs to a hip Friday night vibe type of environment on the main floor. Seemed to me such a different experience to have been stuck in the basement on a Friday night when the main floor was jazzed up with lively music and a great crowd.
Had an incredible meal here. Everything we ate was so excellent. But best of all was our waiter Jason, he really took everything to the next level and made the night a blast. Great night out here.
Our server was great. She was polite, efficient and engaging. Kudos to her and the Capital Grille.
Great food, excellent service, extremely friendly staff, very comfortable atmosphere
Once again, steak was perfectly grilled and Molly our waitress was an absolutely delightful.
Nice dining experience. The steak was a little burnt but the presentation overall cover it. Love the cream brulee.
Our favorite place for special occasions (ok... and a frequent splurge). The chef, Eric, has always made us feel like we are the most special guests. From a tactical perspective: best vodka martinis (blue cheese olives), best bone in rib eye, and best coconut cream pie. Hands down.
Salmon was 1st served well done & then sent back. 2nd one was served rare. I was treating my friend to a milestone bday dinner & she could not eat her salmon. They did send her home with extra mashed potatoes.
With quality dining events like the generous pour, and restaurant week menus, the TCG continues to lure me back when I always promise myself to explore different restaurants. Maybe next time.
Lunch was excellent. Very nice server. I highly recommend the lamb chops.
Really enjoyed the time here. Great steaks and wine.
