The Capital Grille - NY – Chrysler Center Ratings and Reviews
Came to the city to celebrate Thanksgiving with my daughter. I had eaten at a Capital Grill in Naples. NYC’s 42 street did not disappoint. Everything was superb. Our waitress Diana was wonderful. The restaurant was elegantly decorated which made for a cozy relaxing meal.
The porcini rubbed ribeye was divine. Our sides dishes, creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes were very good but not outstanding. Our waiter Barry was absolutely wonderful. Pricing is a bit steep but we realized we were paying, in part, for the atmosphere. I would return for the ribeye alone.
First time at the NY Capital Grille. With so many great steakhouses in NYC, there's no chance I'd go back to this one. We had to return our dinners b/c they were not prepared correctly. The replacements were mediocre. Waiter was inattentive. The place is a mob scene with inadequate reception area. Take a pass!
It was my surly anniversary date & oh my god . It was the best place to celebrate an anniversary they went beyond what expected. The food was amazing Plus free champagne & desert. It was an amazing night. I’m definitely recommend it to anyone & I’m so going there again. LOVE IT
When I made the reservation, I noted my husband and I were celebrating our wedding Anniversary. We were treated to flutes of champagne, and a delicious dessert with an Anniversary message on the plate. Their attention to detail, combined with the indescribably delicious entrees, made for an amazing dinner!
First, the waiter was so welcoming, gracious and professional! Second the meal was excellent! I normally ordered the tuna with rice and 4 sauces but this time i dared to try the lobster salad which was superb! The dressing, the presentation and the lobster of course was delicious! I will order that again !
The occasion was my friend’s birthday - belated as she lives in Philippines. She was very happy With the little birthday dessert presentation! However it became very « little » as there were just 2 sweets whereas before there were 3! Also before you used to serve a s complimentary glass of champagne and took a photo of us! Anyway I just missed that like blast!
I will always go to Capital Grille especially for special occasions!🌺
Family was visiting from San Diego, Charlotte and San Antonio. My sister asked for a steak dinner so I know Capital Grille serves great steak with a comfortable ambiance and diverse menu selection vs. a steak house. We had a great dinner! The service was terrific and easy. We were left alone to catch up and enjoy our dinner but they were always present. We were one of the last tables but were never rushed or made to feel to leave. The wine selection is ample and we opted for a nice red from the Rioja in Spain (actually 2 bottles).
Capital Grille always delivers and is consistent. One of my favorite restaurants.
If you want life to be relaxed, elegant, delicious - and would like to enjoy authentic hospitality and really GOOD food, this is the restaurant for you. How about perfection without pretension? Genuine caring and professionalism from the kitchen to your table, from the Hostess to the Server. No nice 'note' is ever missed. Get over there and you'll understand what dining out should be about.
Service is great. Very attentive. Prompt. Not invasive. Food... well, steak was great and that counts! Sides were good too. Wedge Salad is a lucklaster! Even outback in middle of nowhere in Pensilvania makes it better. Good winelist.
Nothing special to be said about decor or ambiance. Place is fairly small. And kind of "chopped up" which gives you some sense of privacy which is great. I'd say it is a good place to be if you are looking for a quiet conversation or a business meeting.
Rather than that... even Capital Grill on 51st and 6th is Sooo much better!
