The Capital Grille - Naples Ratings and Reviews
We have been celebrating our wedding anniversaries at the Capital Grille for years. The food is consistently good. Unfortunately, our waiter wasn’t very attentive. We had to rally another waiter to get our wine that hadn’t arrived until mid-meal! Our waiter did not offer fresh grated pepper, which we love, and was not very available. Fortunately, this will not discourage us from returning.
We dine at this Capital Grille several times a month and it is always an excellent dining experience..the food and ambiance are terrific....We have gotten to know many of the staff there and they are all warm and friendly....they make our evenings very comfortable and enjoyable ..
We use the Capital Grille for special occasions, in this case New Year's Eve. We were in a side room which reduced the noise factor and made it a bit more personal. Both my wife and I had the "surf and turf" with South African lobster. While expensive, it was very good. I rated it a 4 but it's actually an easy 4.5. We also had the lobster bisque soup which is some of the best I've had. Our waitress Liz was outstanding as every waiter we've ever had at Capital Grille has been. As busy as it was, our service was impeccable!
You need to be aware that it's quite an expensive restaurant but if you want to treat that special someone to fine wining and dining, don't hesitate to make your reservations. Incidentally, we were seated upon arrival at the reserved time.
Outstanding attention to detail! We celebrated my husband's birthday - first time to this location Capital Grille. We had a booth and on the table were an envelope,"happy birthday" and tiny, glitter-type items, such as a cake and presents and the words "happy Birthday."
Free dessert was actually two small items - a cheesecake and a chocolate mousse. Delicious food and attentive service. Expensive, yes, but it was a special occasion.
Weiter so!
Worse table in the house that seemed like a nursery. Very cramped surroundings and constantly being bumped into. Servers backside on top of you as they were attending to the next table. Filet on rare side not medium. They call when confirming reservation if seemed like we were getting a booth as requested. Not so.
While the wine list is shockingly overpriced (The Far Niente Chardonnay has gone from $110 two years ago to $138 per bottle as of 12/28/17) the steaks are cut in-house and feature veal tomahawk cuts as well as bone-on 14 ounce filet mignon but the eternal star remains the 22-ounce rib-eye. Better steaks than Fleming's, Andrew's, Peter Lugers and Smith & Wolensky as well as Sparks. Also try the lobster Mac & cheese as well as the roasted beet and goat cheese salad. The only spot for a birthday celebration but prepare for sticker shock on the wine list!
My family always loves the Capital Grille, and I appreciate the fact that it has some vegetarian options, or at east seafood. We always choose it for special occasions. This year, I made a reservation for the Christmas holidays over a month in advance. I suppose I should have asked for a quiet table (it was on Open Table), but I did not think of it. Consequently, we were seated right by the kitchen (in spite of the reservation being made well in advance) and it was virtually impossible to hear. Of course, they could not move us. In future, I will ask for a quiet venue because this totally spoiled the evening for any kind of conversation except yelling.
