The Capital Grille - Millenia, Orlando Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary along with our son and new daughter-in-law, who were celebrating their honeymoon. Thank you for making our lunch a memorable and special experience. Our server, Arnauld was most attentive and among the friendliest professionals I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant setting. Our regular Capital Grille is in Sarasota and we drove to Orlando to meet our kids for lunch and you all made our day.
We have dined at the Capital Grill in the Poine several times but this was the first at the Millenia Mall. Service was good. First course of calamari with peppers was disappointing. Squid was over cooked, batter too dark, and too many peppers swamped the dish and took the crispness away . just heaped on the dish. Steaks were excellent and welll cooked, as were the truffle fries. Spinach with garlic was hugely salty. We were offered two complimentary desserts which was very nice of them. For the price they need to up their game. Good steak is not hard to come by.
We frequent this location often. We usually have an awesome experience. This time was alittle different. Service was amazing as usual as well as the food. The only thing out of the norm was the blatant rudeness of the hostess (I believe her name was Amanda). It was as if we were bothering her by asking for the Wagyu and wine menu...we LOVE this time of year because of that promotion. Being wine connoisseurs and recognizing a great deal on a burger and glass of wine when we see one..she made us feel like we weren’t important because she thought we weren’t going to spend money..which is never true. Both my GF and I are former servers at high end Darden restaurants and ALWAYS tip well. So after two martinis, dinner and dessert we left happy and full. Hopefully “Amanda” works on her people skills and learns not to judge people wearing shorts to a restaurant in Florida.
Ordered the filet medium well plus because I was sharing it with my toddler. Filet came medium rare. I don’t like sending food back because I didn’t want to delay my husband eating. I cut around the raw part and wasted the rest. Restaurant was too expensive for simple mistakes like this.
Unfortunately the food runner set the hot iron skillet of lobster Mac, directly in front of our 3 year old, who went to smell it and significantly burnt her chin. Ruined an otherwise great occasion for her. She's still showing and feeling the effects days later. :(
My shrimp add-on (with filet mignon) was very over-cooked and cold. My friend's clam chowder was cold. My filet mignon originally came in 2 thumb bit pieces - not what I'd expect from a restaurant with the reputation of The Capital Grille.
We were celebrating our recent engagement with dear friends. What a disappointment! :(
We very much enjoyed our Magical dining experience. Stan was a fabulous waiter. Let’s start with the bread. It was delicious. You had a choice of Naan bread, onion bread, pumpernickel and ciabatta rolls. They were really tasty and warm. My husband enjoyed his Ceasar salad. I had onion soup with an upcharge. I did not enjoy it. When I told Stan, he made it right. My husband ordered the salmon. He said it was good. I got the filet minion. It was excellent. My husband tasted it and he wished that he had ordered it. Best filet that I have ever had. The beans were crispy, just the way we like them and the mashed potatoes were good. My husband got the cheesecake with berries and I got the flourless chocolate cake. The cheesecake had a crunchy topping like Creme brûlée. They were both good. We would love to come back next year. It was well worth the $35.00. You can’t go wrong.
Capital Grill is one of my favorite Orlando restaurants. The food was perfect. Everyone's steak was the perfect temperature. The service was very off. Water was a commodity we had to ask for multiple times. It was my son's birthday and the table looked beautiful.
We noticed that the table next to ours was also celebrating a birthday. When their desert came, there was a candle. Nothing for my son.
Overall a somewhat disappointing Capital Grill experience.
I was disappointed with the thickness of my bone in Ribeye. Grocery store steaks are better quality. I have been to other Capital Grilles and this is the first time I have been disappointed with the food. The lobster tail crab stuffing was incredibly salty. Lobster bisque was good, and the sides were acceptable.
The food was excellent. Even for th the price I was very satisfied with my meal. However the service was not good very slow. We had a party of 13 and the server didn't even take our drink orders at the same. Side dishes are a LA care and I was halfway done with my meal before my Brussel Sprouts arrived. Very very slow not good service but the food was excellent and appreciated the birthday decorations on the table also.
This was my third visit to the Millenia location and it improved each time. The staff was excellent, attentive and anxious to satisfy their guests. We celebrated a birthday and the guest of honor felt special. Thank you for a wonderful experience for all. Sandra
Great Service- server was VERY professional, courteous and alert to needs without asking- (water, bread, proper silverware etc). Great suggestions n a fantastic steak cooked perfect! Brandon, i believe was server. Excellent speak easy environment. Ist visit but not my last😊
My wife and I had their Magical Dining menu and it was amazing! (Lobster Bisque, filet, and dessert). I was well worth the money. The service was outstanding and it was the best of the five restaurants we went to during the Magical Dining month (2017). We will go back again and again.
My friends and I have eaten their twice during the Orlando Magical Dining and both times it has been wonderful. A special kudos to our waitress Maria, who I requested for our second visit. she is exceptional. We will be going back to eat from the regular dining menu soon.
