The Capital Grille - Millenia, Orlando Ratings and Reviews
Service was very rushed and not at the level I have experienced in the past. The waiter was absolutely not invested creating an excellent dining experience. We ordered off the Magical Dining Month menu and It honestly felt like banquet service. The caesar salad looked like it came off a tray of a hundred pre prepared salads that had been sitting in the walk in for a while. The NY strip seemed to have no seasoning on it at all and was cooked unevenly. I know it was a reduced price menu but if you're not going to provide the same quality and service I have come to expect, I recommend that you do not take part in the program. I won't be back because of this. I am a local. Not a tourist.
OMGGGGG!!!! As a fan of Capital Grille since the 90's I have to say... IT ONLY GETS BETTER.
My last night in FL & celebrating a special bday so thought of going to the Capital Grille in the Millenia b/c I hadn't been to this location, wanted something different yet was in the mood for a filet mignon (CG is my favorite steakhouse). Our server Melissa was simply outstanding. First of all when we arrived our table was full of confetti w/a bday card. We ordered the oysters & the extra complimentary champagne (we were spoiled) was a great touch. Being Magical-Dining-Month we ordered from that menu the wedge salad, clam chowder, filet mignon which came with mash potatoes & veggies, plus dessert. It was fantastic, my tongue is dancing. And then at the end we received 2 roses (1 each). Baaam! 💥 THANK YOU SO MUCH, ALWAYS A PLEASURE.
I went with friends for Magical Dining. The appetizer (wedge salad) was delicious. My entrée (salmon) was fair. I have definitely had better seasoned/prepared salmon, even at home prepared by my husband. My dessert (flourless chocolate cake) was also delicious. I would only eat at this restaurant for magical dining, as the prices are expensive (wedge salad is $12 normally and salmon $36). Also our waiter was good but not beyond compare. However living in Orlando can create very high expectations because of so many dining options and the "Disney" effect of customer service expectations.
Me and my mentor got together to catch up. We were served by Angelique, who was AWESOME! She was polite, got our food out in a timely manner, made it a point to learn our names, and even brought us sample wine tasting. There was a small mishap with how our steak was prepared (well vs. med-well); and the good manager comped the meal w/o us asking. As good citizens, we ensured Angelique was taken care of. We will come back to this location and request for Angelique.
This was our visit visit and it was amazing!!! We celebrated our wedding anniversary and they made our visit special with heart confetti, a red rose, personally written card on our table, and happy anniversary written on our dessert plate. The service could not have been better. Our water glasses were never more than a quarter empty, our server checked on us often, and they offered us black napkins based on what we were wearing. We would absolutely visit again and recommend Capital Grille!!!!
This location of the Capital Grill continues to be consistently outstanding. We were there for the few days of The Generous Pour overlapping with Magical Dining making it an excellent value too. This time I had salmon and though I did find two small bones, the fish was a good sized piece and cooked perfectly. My husband had the bone in fillet; also done perfectly, and by the clean plate, apparently excellent as well.
So disappointing that an expensive restaurant does not know how to serve food hot. Our potatoes and beans were pretty cold and ruined the dinner. My salmon was also overcooked. Did enjoy the rolls and bread, and the clam chowder was wonderful. But won't go back!
First, I want to say that I frequent many of the upscale restaurants, so I speak from experience. It's not easy for me to give a "fair" rating to a restaurant of this caliber, I never have. I've been to The Capital Grille before, including this location. I ordered an 8oz filet mignon, medium rare with broiled shrimp. The filet was more medium than medium rare, the shrimp were overcooked. Visually, the filet appeared bland looking, as though it was broiled in a home oven, not in the proper oven that fine steakhouses have, and it lacked the taste that I normally experience, even without a sauce. The sides of mashed and green beans were good but not ample. I understand that this is Magical Dining Month, with 3-course prix fixe dinners from a special menu, but I would expect the food to be on par with their usual menu. An 8oz filet mignon is an 8oz filet mignon, whether it's a special dinner or not. It just wasn't there.
Always do the Magical Dining every year, usually make a reservation for every week that it is on at various restaurants. We have always picked Capital Grill as our first venue each year. This year I booked our table on open table in plenty of time so would have expected to be seated at one of the tables in the quieter restaurant area, however on our arrival we were about to be shown to a table in that section when the hostess said "oh no don't sit them there, we have mr and mrs ..... coming in" we were then promptly taken to a booth in the bar section as though we were second class. Although the meal was of your normal excellent standard, I felt the ambiance of being sat in the bar in front of four tv screens spoilt the occasion, it turned our fine dining experience into nothing more than a bar meal. A lesson to be learnt is to insist on sitting in a certain area.
Our server, Petra, was amazing. We went with two other couples to enjoy the Magical Dining Menu and Generous Pour combo. The other two couples had been there before, but it was our first time, and it really exceeded my expectations. From the moment we sat down and received our first pour and bread basket, I knew we would be in for a great meal. The steaks were perfect, the accompaniments very tasty, and the dessert solid. That wine, though.... Great time had by all 6 of us!
