The Capital Grille - Miami Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant has beautiful decor; old worldly wood and early 20th Century portraits. The steaks were very good as they should be for the price. The burger was average tasting at best. The truffle fries that accompanied it had more flavor. Lobster Mac and cheese did have a good amount of lobster but overall the flavor of the Mac and cheese was lacking. If you’ve never been and have about $80/person to spend to say you’ve been to Capital Grille go for it. Now that I can say I’ve been, I don’t feel there was anything worth returning for. Service was great by the way. So my review is solely based on the food; I imagined the flavors would match the price point and for me, it fell short.
There was only one problem; I asked the waiter for a single glass from 2 different bottles of wine. This is using the system where you obtain the amount of wine by doing a syringe extraction. I had the impression that this could be done and JUST pay for the wine that was taken out from the bottle only NOT the whole bottle...I ended up paying and taking home the 2 bottles of wine from where the wine was taken from. The waiter promised us a complimentary bottle to be sent to our home due to the misunderstanding that occurred.
Other than that, it was a great dinner and wonderful time.
The food and service were incredible. Jose was so professional, knowledgeable and polite. We really appreciated his hard work. The food was incredible, filet mignon, lobster, spinach, and prosciutto wrapped mozz. The wine was delish! Can’t wait to go back and duplicate that meal!
This was not my first time at this Capital Grille.
The waiter did not have support from his assistants that kept the water glass full. When the kitchen brought out the food, the baked potato had no toppings. We finally had to almost beg for attention to bring the toppings.
We ordered the special tomahawk ribeye for sharing. It was placed on the table with no assistance to cut into two portions.
The waiter apologized for the lack of service and comped a dessert
There are too many restaurants in Miami to go to.
It is a toss up if I would recommend this Capital Grille.
A first for me outside of my local C/G in Long Island, NY. The restaurant is identical in every respect except one. The waiter in Miami was exemplary. Actually, a perfect waiter. Explained the various cuts of beef almost as a surgeon. Didn’t hover but seemed to appear when needed. I could go on.... The food was exceptional as I expected. Steak houses don’ t get better than this.
Everything about our dinner was fabulous! They have the hostess with the mostess! She sat us right away and gave us the perfect booth for our needs. Dane was excellent and catered to all of our needs. Can not rave enough about or experience! Everything from the Birthday card to the stickers for our daughter! Five Stars!
Was n town 4a wedding, so while relaxn with sm friend's @Prime Cgr we got hungry, & wanted a steak. No place else 2go BUT the Grille. 2Bone n Filet's, & my Chef's Ribeye & everything that came with it was wndrfl. But most of all, the srvd was exceptional!! Sarah was the absolute BEST!! Beautiful, engaging, friendly, went abv & beyond. Even wit srvng the bar, she ddn't let us dwn. Dfntly cmng back soon because she made it worthwhile!!
We went for Thanksgiving Dinner. I do wish that if a fine restaurant chooses to do a holiday menu they would put their heart into it. The menu was not available on line until right before, we made the reservation well in advance. While the dinner was good, it was hardly spectacular. The chef was cooking only turkey breasts, and dark meat was cut off the bones of reheated legs. The latter was not appetizing, and the specialness of the whole bird was lost. We were seated in what is usually a private dining room, so our room had only six tables. It was lovely, elegant and relatively quiet which was much appreciated. Avi gave us excellent service, and of course we will return - but perhaps not for Thanksgiving.
Disappointing for Capital Grille. Our salad was warm, the side order of brussel sprouts were cold as were the mushrooms. Rarely have we been disappointed with Capital Grille maybe it was because it was Thanksgiving. My steak was not hot and was tough. My wife's lobster was excellent. The coconut cream pie was good, but short on whipped cream. Our waiter was busy and sometimes difficult to find. A rare underwhelming meal. I expect better from Capital Grille.
We will try again.
I have been there many times. This was horrible. The Wine I ordered out of right temperature ( I ordered 1/2 bottle of Brunello) and meat was not so soft like the other times. I always order filet mignon medium cooked and it was not good and a little cold. To be honest I am very frustrated , spent money with high expectations to have a good wine and meat and did not happen.
The previous time we had eaten at this particular Capital Grille we had a wonderful meal. This time the service was just as good, but the food was a disappointment across the board. From salads with warm and droopy greens to aged steaks with very little flavor. The worse, however, was an side order of mushrooms that was so salty that neither of us could swallow even one bite. I sent that back only to get another very salty (but not quite as bad) version.Must have been a bad night for the kitchen, but at these prices the food should be very good. I won't be going back any time soon.
We were seated in a pretty cold area and asked to be moved and we were moved immediately! Our server was a beautiful young lady with an amazing personality!! She took care of us beautifully! We come to Miami for business 3 times a year and we always eat here. We would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Without a doubt Capital Grille is my favorite restaurant for lamb chops. No one does it better.!!! They are juicy and succulent. We had the creamed spinach and asparagus as sides. They were cooked perfectly. We have a special booth we always sit in and I don't even have to request it!! We love the attention to detail.
