The Capital Grille - King of Prussia Ratings and Reviews
We were just a little disappointed with the waiting time. Our reservation was for 8:45 but we didn’t get seated until 9:30...But Tavil (i think that’s his name) our server was great. He made our wait worthwhile. He has GREAT People skills, he made us feel like we knew each other & his food and wine recommendations were a Plus.
From start to finish, Capital Grille was top notch. Every person that walked by our table greeted us, or gave a smile, and our server was above and beyond professional and excellent at his job. I hope to come back real soon. This was mine and my husbands second year wedding anniversary and we were touched by the thoughtful anniversary dessert and champagne. We will certainly be back!
First of all, I have to say I have celebrated many occasions, as well as attended business dinners, and simple dinners with no occasion at Capital Grille. The King of Prussia Capital Grille is one of my favorite locations because the staff is very attentive and accommodating. For the food, it is hard to go wrong with any choice, but I often opt for seafood (especially the chilled grand plateau) mainly because truly good fresh seafood is harder to find than a good steak. One night in particular, our party made a special request of one of the managers, Christopher Amman, regarding an ability to sample in tiny amounts, a few of the dessert ports. Not only did he do so happily as opposed to treating it like a task, but with great proficiency he explained each of them as we sampled...resulting in each of us choosing a favorite and ordering it. The extra time he took to do so was greatly appreciated, and now each time we return, we end the night with a desert port. Our waitress, Sina Arbelo, was also very accommodating to our group concerning our wine selection and her outwardly friendly attitude toward my (well-behaved) 6 year old was refreshing because I often find wait staff at other restaurants automatically seem to judge a little and anticipate an inconvenience upon seeing a group with a child, before having any time to evaluate said child's temperment. In addition, there are honestly other staff members there who deserve praise as well, but since last night stood out, I finally decided to write a review and include the people who were there and made our experience exceptional.
I only have one small suggestion...regarding Chardonnay, Mer Soleil Silver (unoaked) is on the list, but the regular Mer Soliel would be an amazing addition. I have found it's flavor, for its price point...to be unmatched by anything I've had, to date.
The steaks were all cooked perfectly. The attention to detail was excellent and our waiter, Burt, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I noted it was a birthday on my Open Table reservation and the staff had the table prepared in recognition and a special dessert arrived with complements. Just awesome in every way.
If you like your steaks to be perfect, the Capital Grille is where you want to dine. The ambiance is only exceeded by the amazing food. The chef went out of his way to make some delicious remoulade sauce at our request. Dining at its finest without breaking your wallet.
Excellent restaurant. Excellent drink menu with an extensive wine list. I had a 90 rated Cabernet Sauvignon and a 90 rated Scotch Glenmorganie 18yr, with an excellent bullet rye manhattan. I also had the tuna tartar which was succulent. I had the 10 ounce filet mignon cooked medium and to perfection. It melted in your mouth. I had the chocolate rasberry cake dessert.
Awesome memorable evening. A great fine dining exepreience. Will definitely return.
We had dinner with a group of friends on Friday November 3rd and it was EXCELLENT! Our Waiter was George and he was attentive, helpful, fun and made for a great experience! We had such a great time that I changed our reservations for 9 from another local restaurant for my mom's 80th Birthday dinner on Sunday the 5th! I requested George be our waiter and he remembered me, what I drank 2 days earlier (DELICIOUS Margarita) and also how I ordered my steak! They even decorated our table for my mom's Birthday! I would HIGHLY recommend them! 2 Awesome Nights!!!
The Crown Jewel of Capital Grille
We have been "regulars" at Capital Grille KoP for about three years, while sampling other CGs near and far.
Capital Grille KoP has found the perfect recipe -- and consistently followed -- for personable, attentive, unhurried (but timely) service, food done to perfection, flexibility with respect to special requests and dining ambiance in a very comfortably sized space.
Not to knock other CGs (the food is very good across the locations), but CG KoP is a cut above in service. Managers like JP, Executive Chefs like Harvey and servers like Sinna, George and Kimberly are the strengths of this model restaurant.
We didn't feel "...wined, dined and dazzled" in their "...sophisticated dining room".
7:30pm dinner for a special occasion.
Service was excellent.
Food was very good.
They have no dress code and seated someone dressed in gym shorts and a hoodie. When we questioned the dress code, they said they didn't have one and would even go so far as to seat someone in their pajamas. Is requiring pants and a shirt with a collar asking too much at a restaurant that considers themselves a fine dining restaurant? I'm not looking to sit near or see someone in gym clothes or pajamas when I'm at a nice restaurant. With no dress code, Capital Grill should be considered 'casual dining'.
Food overpriced for a restaurant that is 'casual'.
Bottom line - You can get great steaks for less at other places where there is a dress code. For fine dining, I expect pants and a collared shirt. Business casual would be even better.
Probably won't go back.
Always a pleasure to dine out at the Capital Grille. The food is consistently excellent and always prepared to perfection. Service is excellent, many different personalities between servers and we've never had a bad experience.. We've been coming here for years now and enjoying perfectly prepared steaks and enjoying some great wines with our expectations for excellence always fulfilled. My only small gripe is with the Ipad that serves as a drink/wine list which initially was kind of a cool novelty but my last few visits it has lost its appeal.. It's kind of cumbersome and the number of physical devices is limited and you don't always get to review it when you want to and passing it around the table after food has arrived can be a little cumbersome in my opinion. A small gripe but I'm a traditionalist, just give me the paper version.. Looks forward to coming back... bring your appetite :)
I enjoyed the appetizers were great! Bread basket is delicious....just be careful not to fill up on the bread. (leave room for the meal) Loved the french onion and butternut squash soup was fantastic! I loved the side dishes... mushrooms, mash potatoes and 5 stars to the mac and cheese! The filet was ok... still tasty but a little chewy. Food aside, the service was impeccable! They decorated the table for my dad's birthday and wrote a personalized birthday note!
Went for a birthday celebration. Always treated like a star by the staff and waitress was very attentive . The tomato and mozzarella salad is a great starter along with the wedge salad.
Filet was cooked perfect but thought halibut was a bit overdone. Sides are always good and filling
As always, KOP Capitol Grille is our "go to" place for a 5-star dinner. And as always, Jen and Ira are the consummate "top shelf" bartenders. Almost without fail, we'll skip our dining room reservations and have dinner at the bar because we get THE BEST in fine dining service, ambiance and good conversation.
We have many business dinners at Capital grille. At least 10 per year. Never any issues. This evening was a large disappointment. Waiter spilled wine on table as he was pouring the glass. This is ok as mistakes happen. But it took 35-40 minutes to be served our entree. With our CEO in from Europe service was disappointing, but more importantly, by time meal was served my guests were jet lagged and did not enjoy the experience. Thank you, Robert Shumoski
My husband and I enjoyed wonderful anniversary dinner at The Capital Grille and had indicated the reason for our meal when we made the reservation. The entire staff made it a wonderful and memorable experience. I would certainly recommend The Capital Grille for future celebrations.
