Food was tasty during the visit, however felt very sick through the night then stomach issues continued into the morning. It is overpriced as well for what you get. Similar steakhouses are more reasonable and equal quality.
The food was very good, service was nice good lunch date
Had to wait 45 minutes for our reserved table and then we were seated in a small room right next to the servers table. We were all pretty disappointed but the service was outstanding especially our waitress. Jen was great.
Food was incredible everything was perfect!
Beautiful anniversary dinner
Everyone was very pleasant. My steak was a little overcooked, and the waiter kept insisting one of my guests get something he didn’t want.
Always a great meal, Matt was great! Steaks are awesome!
Ira at the bar is the best.
Food always consistent.
Server was outstanding . Right balance of customer service without being obnoxious.
Food was excellent
Service was poor..,waitress was no where to be found. Water glasses did not get filled, crumbs everywhere and couldn’t even order dessert. Bad experience
Consistently great food and bar.
Our waitress Katrina was excellent. Knowledgeable about wines and menu. Very personable and attentive. Food was wonderful and the birthday touches were just the right amount of celebration. Could not have asked for more.
Waiter Caesar did a fine job.
I expect perfection at The Capital Grille. Unfortunately, my steak was way over cooked and my waiter notice right away, so I did not have to say much to get a steak cooked the way I wanted. The table next to mine had the same problem.
Our usual server was working as a manager so the service was not outstanding but the food is always delicious. This continues to be our favorite restaurant.
No one in my dysfunctional family wanted to cook for thanksgiving so we've decided to go out. The place was crowded when we got there. Guess there are plenty of dysfunctional families. :-) We waited about 10 minutes and got seated. My parents are in their 80s and their bad hearing often creates a challenging situation for the wait staff. For example, the question "can I get you anything to drink?", my dad sometimes replies "Mashed Potatoes". I was a waiter for a few years when I was in college. When you are busy, this kind of things is not fun. Though my kids think it's hysterical. Our waitress Katrina handled our tables with confidence and even a bit of humor. The drinks , appetizer and meals came out well timed. The meal was good as expected.
For at least two hours, we were a three generations of happy family.
We have booked Capital Grill for many holiday dinners and have seen a steady decrease in the readiness of this restaurant.
The hostess group is young and oblivious to being able to seat customers on time. We were seated in the bar area and it was chaotic to say the least. Wait staff remained patient and pleasant. The kitchen did the best it could: food was just warm but tasty.
The ‘manager’ stopped to ask how we were enjoying our meal but didn’t acknowledge our displeasure.
We will not be back nor would we recommend Capital Grille for any holiday outing.
Shame on this group for its lack concern for customer satisfaction. A rip.
Excellent Thanksgiving dinner excellent service
Great service. The food was excellent. It is somewhat overpriced but the service and food quality were great. They would have gotten a 5* if my soup was not luke warm when I got it. Besides that it was an excellent experience.
Service and cuisine was excellent on Thanksgiving as it should be. Seating could have been better, but the extra attentive service made a good save. Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed themselves with the friendly staff and great food. Definitely will be back for more.
Definitely run very well and the food was excellent. We were never left waiting or wanting for anything.
The food was good as expected from Capital Grille however, certain key things from a service perspective was missing. They never cleaned the crumbs off of the table nor gave us wet towels to clean our hands. Perhaps they forgot our table while they remembered others. This is the first time in over ten years this has happened to me at Capital Grille. I hope management reads my review and they try to be more consistent with their patrons.
Always very good and very consistent.
Absolutely amazing! We’re frequent patrons of The Capital Grille KOP and we tried something different...the Japanese Wagyu Steak and it was PHENOMENAL!!! It’s the only steak I want from here on out! We also had the crab and lobster cakes (amazing) and the cast iron shrimp (also very good). Cesar our server was amazing. When we come back to KOP next year....I will definitely request the Japanese Wagyu Steak before our arrival (I AM A FAN)!
It was just ok.
Wonderful food and service!
Thank U Capital Grille for making our wedding anniversary a very special evening. The service and food was so amazing. Special kudos to our waiter and his crew staff, Cesar Garcia in treating us like royalty.
Chris Ammann runs a tight ship and always takes good care of us.
Never before had a bad experience.. Love this place, but something was off. Had to ask for more Caesar dressing, couldn't tell if they had any on it. au gratin potatoes were tasteless (usually exceptional) and my wife's filet was dried out completely and burnt on outside. - will still be back, usually you can't go wrong
The food was delicious and the service great. A nice way to spend a birthday!
Love it here!!!
Excellent food, wine and service as always!
Both sides (au gratin & string beans) had to be sent back due to being raw and cold. They were both inedible. My NY Strip steak had a long line if gristle through the middle that had to be cut around. I would not go back. Unacceptable.
Excellent service, fabulous place to celebrate your special event, we celebrated our wedding anniversary
Had a birthday dinner at Capital Grille for my mother. Our waitress was attentive when she was there, but service was slow. I didn’t order another glass of wine because I was concerned I’d get it after my meal was delivered, and we decided not to order dessert or coffee because it took so long for them to get back to us after we finished our meal. The food was good, but not outstanding. For the price, I expect outstanding.
For the prices at CG, you’d expect a sublime meal and experience. First off, the cocktail and wine prices are stupid. My ‘in fashion’ old fashioned was fine, if a short pour for $16. I’d say all drinks are $5-10 overpriced compared to other high end restaurants. Also took ~15 min for drinks to arrive, and it wasn’t crazy busy at the time. Bar was slow again on a glass of wine, so got it well after the main course was served
We ordered both the beef and tuna tartare to start. The beef tartare was the better of the 2. Tuna was fresh but rather bland (tt at Sovana still is the best) and dollops of sriracha is not a good pairing.
Shared the beef tenderloin and poached lobster tails for the main course ($57). One of the tenderloin pieces turned out to be black and blue and not medium rare. The lobster tails were good, but rather lukewarm suggesting that the timing of prep was off.
Server was very cordial and professional, so that was nice. Overall a good meal, but not worth the cost. Laughed at the at the families there with small children..
Wonderful experience for food and service; great for our business meeting!
Fabulous meal, unparalleled service, great wine. So lucky we have this gem in the suburbs. Thanks Caesar for helping to make our night fantastic.
Our dinner was amazing.. from the moment we sat down, our waiter Eric took care of our every need.. it was our anniversary and they went above and beyond to make our dinner a memorable one, topped off with a photo at the end.. food was excellent, drinks were great, will definitely be back shortly
