We went during a very busy time but there was still never a time where our glasses went empty.
Excellent steak, they do rare like rare was meant to be done :)
The filet mignon is melt-in-your-mouth great!
My first booking for restaurant week & everything started out great. Service was off to a great start & then it went south pretty quickly. As I watched other tables never having to wait & one waiter I watched in awe as he catered to his table. Meanwhile, our waiter was nowhere in sight as we waited for our food, waited even longer for bread. Then even more of a delay between entree & dessert. I haven’t been more disappointed!
Jackson was a very good server and took care of all of our needs despite the lunch rush. The food is so good. The calamari was just great and not the oily, tough calamari you get in so many places. The dessert here is to die for. Rich chocolate... no gluten!
My husband went here to celebrate KC Restaurant week and also to celebrate his birthday. The service and the food were exceptional. Our table was decked out with birthday confettis. He receives a lot of happy birthday wishes from all the staffs. We had a great time.
Wonderful Restaurant Week meal.
We went for our 5 year anniversary and it was great!
Delicious, as always. Paul crushed it!
Despite being a national chain, Capital Grill remains the best place in Kansas City to get a fine steak. The service is excellent and the food never disappoints.
I eat at Cap Grille approximately 8 - 12 times a year and have always had delicious food and great service. I think due to restaurant week, our restaurant on the Plaza in Kansas City made some huge mistakes. One was booking. Our reservations were for 6:30pm on Tuesday. I had made them quite a while ago. and we had invited 2 other couples. We were not seated until 7:10. That is unacceptable. Why accept reservations if your wait time is 40 minutes? It was awkward and unprofessional. Secondly, they put us at a table that was packed in so tightly, we were not able to sit down and fit around the table. There was no room between our seats and the wall. We had to rearrange our seat locations literally so that we sat pushed together on the outside area (it was a round table pushed up against a corner) so we could fit. Of course I will go back because I think it is a great restaurant, but I sure am disappointed and was embarrassed at our experience this week. I would imagine the whole concept of Restaurant week is to make a good impression on new diners, so that perhaps they could become regulars. It would have been better to turn away more people without reservations and/or accept fewer reservations than to pack people in an get so far behind in your seating times that you make a bad impression.
