This was a poor experience all around.
Service and food were top-notch. We both ordered filets, and they were perfectly prepared. Sides were delish and right-sized for sharing. The foccacia here is the best in town! So many fine wines, it was hard to decide, but their presentation leaves nothing to chance... great tasting notes.
The food is always wonderful, the service was good but a bit slow. However, the tables were so close together we could hear every conversation going on around us, the ambiance felt more like a diner than fine dining. For the prices charges, the restaurant can give up a few tables to allow guests to enjoy quiet conversation and a special evening out.
I took my wife here for Valentine’s Day. This was our first visit but won’t be our last. Our waiter Adam was amazing all the way through. (Outstanding Service) and our food was perfectly cooked!(The Wagyu steak/lobster was amazing)! Great experience overall! I would recommend anytime !
Incredible food and incredible service. Great for special occasions.
Outstanding as usual!
Valentine’s Day, everything was running well even with the large crowds, and Kori was amazing as always. Perfectly cooked filets and we could not have been more pleased!! Thank you. You never disappoint.
Have been to the Capital Grille before and as always enjoyed the experience, food was very well prepared and extremely tasty, service was great and bill was fair value for our food. Would go again
The absolute WORST dining experience we have ever had. The management really fell short of making our evening right after countless mistakes by the staff.
Outstanding meal, outstanding service! As usual.
We went for our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and so was the waitresses
Once again an amazing meal. Jennifer made every part a pleasure. Thank you again and we will see you again soon.
Insanely crowded- which for Valentine’s week is expected... BUT, our table was small and crowded and service was very unpersonalized. We waited in a crazy crowded bar to get a drink while we waited for our reserved time, and finally got a drink after 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the host gets champagne for the other family waiting on their reservations as well. Our favorite restaurant is Matthews in San Marco - the severs treat us like royalty even though we are not huge high dollar regulars. I felt like a little fish in a big pond and I honestly have never felt that way at any “fine dining” establishment ...especially in Jacksonville Florida.
Steak was exceptional. I was previously not a fan of TCG, but the last three visits have turned me. The food was great, our server Adam was out of this world. Amazing flavor. Lobster tails from S. Africa were enjoyed by some in our party who said they were also exceptional. TCG is doing things right here in Jacksonville.
Our server Cheryl was delightful, knowledgeable and perfectly attentive. She’s been at Capital Grille ten years!
We ordered the filet with the porcini crusted finish which is on the menu for the ribeye but they were happy to accommodate our request. The Brussels sprouts are simply amazing. The pear salad is perfect to share as a starter.
We went for our Valentine's Day dinner and everything was amazing!
This is the place where we go when we want to have the best steak, cooked perfectly. We love our meat Pittsburgh style (medium rare inside but charred outside) and they do it perfectly. Our waitress, Sheryl, was excellent. I ordered a Negroni and they did not prepare it to my liking, she went back to the bar and brought me a perfect one. Just an overall wonderful meal. Lots of young people, so a couple of guys eating with their baseball hats on, but what can you do?
This was my first time at Capital Grille and our waiter, Bill Doyle was the best to help us out with the great selection. I would highly encourage everyone to ask for Bill as your waiter, he will.not disappoint you.
5 stars all around service was the best Bill was a great waiter
Although the food and service are great, it is ridiculously expensive! We each had a salad, a meat entrée, split a mac and cheese, and shared one gin and tonic. The bill was $169!!! With a 20% tip, it came to $200. We had a $150 gift certificate from our son, so that eased the pain somewhat. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I assume people go there because it makes them feel wealthy.
It is among my favorite places for dinner. Every visit reveals something different in the experience or confirms what we are already comfortable with. The Capital Grille resonates with a venerable comfort I have become accustomed to that performs well.
I have to say that our requested and constant server, Bill Doyle, is a magician in many ways as he makes things happen for us in the audience. He knows the Chef has a special way of doing things or what the scallops were like last night. Always a gentleman, he thinks for us in many ways to make the moment perfect.
Who would think to pour a sparkling Sprite in to a Champagne glass for a child at our table who couldn't have Champagne with her parents for her mother's birthday? That was brilliant!
We also had the pleasure of meeting Victor, as my wife is originally from Morelia, MX and speaks fluent Spanish while wishing more of my family did too.
Did I mention the food was outstanding? The shrimp cocktail was fresh and crisp, but it was the Caesar's salad with the large chards of cheese that stole the thunder until the NY strip steak showed them all up. My toast to the Chefs who put it together.
I am looking forward to my next visit to the Capital Grille.
Excellent food and service. A great venue to entertain business clients.
We both had the best steaks we have ever had. Great tasting. Bill Doyle our waiter is always Outstanding! We always ask for him now. Capital Grille always makes us feel special when we eat there. It is well worth the money paid for the experience.
Our experience was truly outstanding. Everything was first class - food, service, setting. We had steaks, veal chop and swordfish and all were delicious. The lobster mac & cheese was best ever category. Lastly our server, Alex Davalos, was the best - efficient, helpful and very personable. Highly recommended to all, but recognize you pay for what you get.
Music was a little louder than normal during lunch.
Had a great time. Food was good, but a little pricey for what it was. All in all we enjoyed ourselves.
Always consistent with good food and good service.
Unfortunately the food here is extremely salty. That makes it taste good for a lot of people but it causes problems for others. We gave this location the third try, after a bad first and good second, and this was more like the first time. The Orlando Millenia location is still the best, probably due to great management. We rarely see a manager on the floor in Jacksonville.
We were there celebrating my daughter’s 19th birthday. Our server bill was excellent. The food was terrific as usual.
As always an amazing lunch and outstanding service!
You have to try the Brussel sprouts
Excellent food and service!
Excellent food with very attentive and friendly staff.
Capital Grille rarely, if ever, disappoints. The service is impeccable. They make you feel special. The food is delicious and consistent. We were there celebrating our anniversary and it couldn't have been a nicer evening.
Great service and great food. Jennifer is awesome. We celebrated a 65th wedding anniversary. The team made it special.
Capital Grille is everything you would expect it to be - delicious food, great service and a nice atmosphere. It is expensive so it's not an every day type of meal, but it's perfect for celebrations, date nights or if you're craving a fantastic meal. Everything was cooked so perfectly and we all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes.
Exceptional wine list, high end/high class restaurant, ideal for special occasions or business meetings. Great ambience in the lounge and bar area. Excellently prepared appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts. Notable for their filet mignon, one of the best in town. Incredible selection of house made breads accompany each meal, including raisin pumpernickle, onion bread, and more. Desserts include my favorite, the flourless chocolate espresso torte with fresh raspberries and house made heavy whipped cream.
