The Capital Grille - Indianapolis Ratings and Reviews
Our Food an Service were excellent. Bone in Ribeye and Bone-In Fillet Mignon were both great and drew praise from multiple people in our party of 14. Great choice of premium Bourbons and Scotchs. However, cocktails were standard at best. Tap Tonic on top of premium Gin and Vodka equals a mediocre drink and the price is not mediocre.
Fine for a chain....but one of our guests out of 11 didn't get her order when the others did and when she did, it was very rare when she ordered medium. At this price point, that should not happen. Steak was warm but not hot.... not a bad place but I would prefer others over this....
Once again, Capital Grille does not disappoint. I personally prefer filets (slightly) at Ruth's Chris but have found they don't do any other type of steak particularly well (at least to justify the price). Capital Grille, however, does an outstanding job on everything... RibEye, NYStrip, etc...and their sides are on a par with Ruth's Chris.
Service was once again spectacular and the only reason I don't go to Capital Grille more often instead of RC is that where I typically go to in Indianapolis only has RC.
Value at 3 stars is only because nothing is really 'worth' the prices at any of these places, but certainly my favorites, if I'm splurging, are Capital Grille, RC and Flemings.
We have come here every Christmas Eve for a few years, and always enjoy ourselves! Our wait person this year, Andrea little, was nice, didn't rush us, and made sure everything was perfect! Parts of the restaurant were loud, but we always request a quieter area and have been happy with our seating area. We will be here next next year!
We were at our table for 10 minutes before a server appeared. The restaurant looks nice, but the noise around the bar drifted into our room. Servers were pleasant. French onion soup was overly large which filled us too much before the main course. Menu selection was decent and food was pretty good. Sides were overly large for two people. There are other similar restaurants in Indianapolis that are better.
Excellent service, and generally good food, albeit at high premium prices (especially for Indy).
Warning: Chefs at CG Indy use an East-coast temperature scale (similar to NYC). My son’s filet was beat red in the middle, which I’d ordinarily equate to a rare or medium rare requested temperature—he’d ordered medium.
We sent it back for more cooking, and no credit or accommodation was offered.
Took my wife to celebrate her birthday. OMG. This place was amazing...food was exceptional and the service and warmth of the serving staff was even better! Pierre and his team truly made it an evening to remember. Thanks so much for making my better half's night so special.
Everything from a handwritten card from the staff, to a bonus birthday treat with letters etched on the plate in chocolate. Every detail was amazing!
As usual, the food was excellent in every regard.
We were seated in what I refer to as the main hall, a few tables down from the bar and reception area. We have been seated in this area on our last three visits. It is very noisy and there is continuously foot traffic through the area, by severs and guests. The restaurant was packed, so I didn’t asked to be moved. It is a bad location for older customers with hearing aids.
Next time that I book, I will request a table in one of the rooms. If I cannot be accommodated, I will book elsewhere.
We went to Capital Grille for my daughter's 15th birthday and she was treated like a queen. Not only was the food amazing and well prepared, it was as if the entire staff made a big fuss over her. The table was decorated with fun confetti and they even provided her with a lovely desert plate with a mini cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake with raspberries free of charge. The service was thoughtful and personalized. Wonderful.
Go to place whenever I’m on the road and entertaining clients. Reasonable pricing for a high end steak place. Wait staff always friendly and knowledgeable. Ok One issue- I was with clients in Indianapolis and we arrived just after 10. The manager could really not have been less hospitable. Basic attitude was it’s late so order fast. From then on out felt like we were playing beat the clock. Waitress was awesome, manager was leering at us!
