Our waitress wasn't overly cordial or friendly. We had a 2 year old with us but she behaved rather incredible. Not sure if that was what caused her to keep an arms length. There were a lot of Cleveland Cavaliers there so maybe our table wasn't so grand. Having said that our food was really good and I would go back.
Over all very good. We have been here many times. Unfortunately my wife’s steak which was ordered medium well came out medium rare. Also, service was 4 out of 5 as she had a large party room that took much of her attention during the evening.
Once again The Capital Grille did not disappoint! Fabulous food and service! Juan, our server, gave wonderful cocktail and meal suggestions. We will for sure ask for him the next time we visit.
Excellent service! The food was great and the experience was memorable. We will definitely be back.
Pricy - but good --- actually excellent I mentioned an allergy and no less than 3 people asked me if I needed anything special --- I was impressed.
Great food, great service, great ambiance and noisy--but not TOO noisy. What more could anyone ask of a restaurant for a business lunch when a convention is in town?
Great place!!
Service and food were very good as always. The noise level was very high probably due to the very large crowd in town for a 4 day convention. The blackened Brussel Sprouts were delicious as well as the coconut cream pie and intensely flavorful duo of sorbets. Yes the steaks were all delicious.
Anniversary
Great food ... great wine ... sommelier was excellent ... can’t wIt to return
Excellent!
We heard great thing about the food, and atmosphere we wanted to try it. The dining experience exceeded our dining expectation. We will be back!!
Everything was perfect. Lovely experience.
I was in a festive mood for Easter brunch and decided on a whim to take my family to Capitol Grill. The menu sounded amazing, but as my husband said ... I think our pallets are used to more these days. Indianapolis has so many amazing restaurants now that this meal kind of fell flat ... and it was expensive.
We have no problem paying for an experience/good food, but we were really let down by the meal. I had the potato leek soup, salmon with a crab salad and citrus sauce and finished with the flourless cake. The hubs had the green salad with a parmesan vinegarette, steak and eggs and berries w/ sweet cream sauce.
The menu SOUNDED amazing. My soup, his salad and the dinner bread were the winners. My salmon was cooked very well with a nice crisp, but the flavors were incredibly bland - that goes for the crab salad (the crab was pretty good tho). Steak and eggs? Just average.
Basically, when you're paying $200 for a meal (we each had a glass of wine and our son had a $15 kids meal) ... you want it to be exceptional.
The atmosphere was great though! It was festive and all of the staff were as sweet and professional as can be. We've eaten here several times, but this was the first time we really felt let down.
We had our family Easter brunch at Capitol Grille this year taking advantage of their creative Fixed Price menu. Everyone in our group was extremely impressed with the quality of the food and the professional and attentive service we had. Even though the restaurant was "packed" we never had to wait or wonder when our server would stop by if we needed him. Jose and the Capital Grille chef definitely made our experience special.
It was a mediocre experience. We made a reservation for 9:45 am because that was the only time they listed availability for our party of 7. Apparently at 10:00 they were switching from the regular breakfast menu to a $59 per person menu. This wasn't on the site or mentioned during the confirmation call we got. The waitress hurried us to choose food because "the kitchen is getting ready to throw everything out since we're switching to $59 menu". It didn't feel great having to hurry up so we could get whatever wasn't getting thrown in the garbage.
We've had Easter Brunch at Capital Grille 4 of the last 8 years so I was very surprised at the disappointment.
Poor service. Our server would vacate his section for long periods of time. He had only two tables. One was a 10 top, but most of their stay they didn't order anything. Then there was the two of us. Very long time getting cocktails.
All three of us ordered Cobb Salads with sliced tenderloin. Each of us requested slight changes and each salad was perfect. Bread and flatbread basket was refilled and beverages were kept topped off. All around excellent lunch and we'll be back!
one disappointed this time. Go there often appetizer was horrible and no offer to fix or give new ins
we were there for my wife's birthday but the noise levels were so bad we couldn't talk to one another. we could barely understand our waitress. the food and wait staff were great but with the noise level we might reconsider going again.
Table service was slow. Water was empty most of the dinner. All the wood surfaces were caked in dust. The Cesar salad was pretty mediocre. Everything else was delicious. They take really good care of you if you are celebrating an anniversary.
Very good restaurant! Perfect to celebrate your anniversary! The best!
We had an awesome experience last Saturday evening. The maitre d' was inviting, the service was great, the waitress well versed in the menu options and our food was prepared as ordered. The bar staff was friendly as we waited for a few minutes for our table, and there was easy valet parking.
Took my daughter there to celebrate her birthday. The food was delicious. The dessert, yum! They went out of there way to make her feel special on her day. Would HIGHLY suggest Capital Grill, especially for a special event. Thanks for taking such good care of us!
Great service and food. Great bartenders also. dfdfdfdfdfdfdfd
We had a wonderful time. I was there with my college roommate from many years ago and his family. It was a real treat to have an elegant dining experience during our rare opportunity to spend time together.
Enjoyed the seared tuna with ginger rice. Ordered the Brussels sprouts and they were yummy.
I have been to the Capital Grill several times while visiting Indianapolis. The Lobster Mac & Cheese is to die for and I have never been disappointed in my entree.
My friend and I enjoyed another delicious pre-theater meal at Capital Grille. We were served promptly and efficiently by our friendly server, who made sure we made it on time. We appreciate the delicious appetizers which are just right for our small appetites. The yummy crab and lobster cakes plus truffle fries were an excellent start to the evening. The Capital Grille never disappoints!
Went for Twin birthday. Everything was good but the fries. Find a different recipe
Everything from our initial greeting to our exit was wonderful. We arrived to be greeted by a smiling face and our service was remarkable during our entire experience. Kerri and Rachel made us feel welcome and pampered. This was a good start to our celebration, as tonight was the first of two evenings of celebrating our engagement. We will be back soon
Michael our waiter was phenomenal. He made great recommendations for dinner and dessert that we loved. He was on top of the wine and drinks all evening.
We arrived 20 min early and they were able to seat us right away
We had 4 steaks some salads the lobster tail Mac and cheese potatoes and Brussels sprouts and each item was better then the next. The glazed Brussels sprouts with bacon were so delicious, as was the lobster Mac and cheese. Very creamy and I am not a Big Mac and cheese fan at all but I would definitely order it the next we go
Our steaks were tender and seared perfectly
Our only complaint would be $14 for valet parking when our car sat right in front of the restaurant the entire time. Otherwise Definitely recommend
Awesome Valentines dinner. Monti was great and had all the right level of service. Thanks again
This was an unforgettable evening. Not only was the staff attentive, friendly and accommodating but they also shared in the excitement of my surprise engagement. The food was impeccable, manager was attentive and professional, and the ambience of the restaurant was perfect. Thank you for helping make our special night even more special.
Can't say enough about Capital Grille. Our favorite place for a nice dinner. Chris Porter is the best!
Was great for dinner on Valentines Day before a night at a concert. The ambiance is especially good for a special occasion such as anniversary, birthday or any other special day in the life of a couple of newly weds. The staff was very efficient and accommodating to those who were dining.
First time , very impressed with the service and dining experience.
No disappointments in any area .
Superb steak house. Great Wine list. Exceptional staff. Lots of space and quiet enough to actually have a pleasant conversation.
Great meal before the ISO concert.
Our server Bill was great but overwhelmed. He had too many tables. Took us forever to get boxes, our check and drink refills.
For Valentine’s Day they sat us by a TV with cords and the room was too hot due to the hotel next door sharing. Lights were too bright and they could not move us.
