Excellent service and delicious food. Cannot fault it!
Great date night with my husband after a long business trip. Shawn was superb. Will return.
With so many fantastic steak houses in Houston to compare to, restaurants have to be at the top of their game every night. Unfortunately, this was not one of those nights for The Capital Grille. My Filet Mignon was overcooked (not medium rare by a long stretch) and flavorless. I have had good meal here so I will be back, but I am hoping this is not a trend toward mediocrity.
Food is perfectly prepared every time. Off the menu blackened, super spicy grilled chicken breast is so yummy!
Food and service was excellent. The waiter Lance is top notch.
The food was excellent - when it finally came. Waited a loooong time for each course. We had such high expectations based on previous visits (especially my son’s 21st birthday celebrated in your Austin Capital Grille soon after his father died - so attentive, such a good memory). The salads/soups were wonderful and the steaks were mouth-watering as always. The complimentary birthday dessert was delicious. But we waited and waited and waited between times and for the check and 7pm on a Tuesday with empty tables just did not seem that busy. Was it (gulp) because I was a woman dining with 2 young adult children? I hope the days of women receiving less attention because the servers expect less tip are gone! I tipped $50 on a $206 check but my companions believed that was too much based on the service. Food=excellent; service=meh
We tried the tuna carpaccio, lamb and steak. All were delicious. You must try the cauliflower at gratin. So creamy and slightly curry spiced. Really excellent. My only negative was the ambience but that’s because we were seated in the private room which I always consider to be the overflow seating. You loose a lot of the atmosphere being seated off to one side. Saying that though the service was still excellent.
Over all poor experience service was poor and when ask management to help he seemed put out.

The service and waiters are absolutely amazing everyone enjoyed their food except me the sea bass I had I didn’t enjoy at all but I’m not a seafood lover. I just wanted to try something different. I will give them another try and skip seafood
No service in bar despite plenty of staff, so went to dining room where they made every attempt to make up for the bad experience we had in the bar

Wonderful atmosphere and attentive service. The food was excellent! We were so pleased with our experience!
We decided to dine here for HRW and the Generous Pour. I informed the hostess this when she called to confirm my reservation. When we arrived we told them what our plans were. Our waitress Klaudia C did a nice job. She poured our wines and when it came time to pour the Pinot Noir she informed us they were out of it. I asked her if they could substitute another Pinot and she informed me she would pour more of one of the others. This was not a good replacement since you can "Revisit" any one of the wines from the Generous Pour. I asked her to bring over the manager. He came over and said he didn't have anything similar to Maggy Hawk and he would pour more of the other. I asked why we were not informed of this when we were seated. I had to ask him to substitute a Pinot Noir of which he did but it was not good. He never came back to check on us and see if we liked it. Once we finished dinner, Klaudia was really not interested in serving us any longer. She gave us the bill, I paid and signed it, she came back and picked up the bill. Since I only gave her a 15% tip, it was obvious she was not happy. We had to ask another server to send her back so my son and daughter in-law could revisit a wine. I understand we were there on the last night of The Generous Pour, but if you don't want to serve us how it has been served from the beginning of August, let me know up front so I can choose another restaurant or go to the Capital Grille on Westheimer.
Houston Restaurant Week menu was outstanding.
It was just a bad experience...a $300 mistake. Poor service, steak over cooked, and whomever let our side of asparagus leave the kitchen needs a talking to. We didn't even complain while we were there because it felt like a lost cause. We left feeling downtrodden and ripped off. We've been here a few times and it was fine...not this time. Not going back.
John was an awesome server with extensive knowledge of the menu!

Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Loved the HRW menu. The drinks, food and ambiance perfect. We will definitely be back.
This place was absolutely amazing. We went during restaurant week & they had an excellent menu for that. We also did their Generous Pour event which was fabulous. I can’t wait to go back here to enjoy their food & wine again.
My daughters and I had the most amazing customer experience! Our server was knowledgeable and super efficient! Great ambiance. Can't wait to go back again!!
Service was less than satisfactory as sides were 10 minutes behind main entree and service was sliw - 3 hour meal in a Sunday night

We enjoyed our meal so much! Everything was delicious and the service was top notch too. We started with lobster bisque and clam chowder. We preferred the bisque. Our steaks were perfect - I had the filet and my husband had the NY strip. Both were cooked just as we ordered. We tried several desserts, all good, but the creme brulee was the best! We thought this meal was far better than our last experience at Pappas Steak House.
The service was terrible. There were 14 of us. We planned a nice dinner at Capital Grille w/ 4 families (w/ our adult children). The waitress was SO RUDE the entire evening from the moment we arrived she acted like we were inconveniencing her. It totally ruined the dinner. This was an annual tradition with our group to dine at Capital Grille during Houston Restaurant Weeks. We have been going for years w/ same group. We all decided we will not be going back. Who wants to spend over $100+ per person and have terrible service? Our group even group texted about it the following day, how bad it was. We have decided we will take our business somewhere else and start a new tradition. I never understand when someone chooses to have a job waiting tables and acts like they absolutely hate it. Find a new career!
Service was not up to par, however food was excellent.

Vibrant ambiance, excellent food, service was friendly and efficient.
Great food, a little noisy in the dining room but it was very busy. The service was slow but still enjoyable.

What a pleasant experience! It was our first time here and our server Dao did a great job at explaining the menu and wines. She was very attentive though it was quite busy for the Houston restaurant week. Food came out amazing! Would totally come back again in the near future.
Very disappointing experience overall! Been to many Capital Grille’s across the US and this location needs a visit from Corporate.
We recently tried Capital Grille during Houston Restaurant Weeks. The wedge salad was very good. The steaks were very flavorful and cooked perfectly, with the added bonus of having potatoes and green beans included for the table. The cheesecake and espresso chocolate cake were also both very good.
Service was excellent, as was the ambiance.
We took advantage of the Generous Pour promotion being offered this month, which includes unlimited wine from seven available choices. What a deal -- HRW and the Generous Pour together! We will be back.

We always come here for our special occasions and enjoy it very much. It was our anniversary and was spoiled by one of the managers. My steak was very rare and I told the waiter. Doug was a very good waiter. A manager named John came out and proceeded to lecture me on the cook of the steak and that it was properly cooked. My husband was half finished with his meal at this point. After I asked this manager if he was going to stand there and argue with me all night he took my meal and replaced it. Another manager who was very gracious brought it out and it was fine. I have never had a manager in any restaurant treat a customer like that. The upset of the incident ruined the point of the evening. I think maybe we need to start looking for another favorite restaurant. Extremely disappointing.
A little disappointed. Some in my party we’re unhappy with the food quality. It was very noisy. Hard to speak or hear. The waiter was aloof. Just an order taker. I feel bad about my review but that’s how I feel.
HRW menu was great! The salad was fresh with delicious tomatoes, which is a rarity anywhere these days. The Parmesan dressing was nice and subtle. My friend loved the clam chowder. We both had roasted chicken, which was very moist and lightly seasoned with lemon and spices. The mixture of roasted white and purple baby potatoes was a perfect side. The flourless dark chocolate cake was creamy and not too rich. My friend loved the creme brûlée.
