The Capital Grille - Ft. Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
I expected The capital Grille in Fort Lauderdale to be the same caliber as the one in Miami. What a disappointment! To start with they seated us at the worst table in the house (right next to the kitchen) even though I had told him it was a special occasion. Our waiter was acceptable but not outstanding and the food was so-so. My husband’s steak was tasteless and leathery, the soup was not hot, and service was slow. The place had the ambience of a Long Horn Strakhouse, in a strip mall, not a high-priced elegant restaurant. For what we paid it is definitely not worth the value.
The Capital Grille was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner there. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch.
The service and ambiance were excellent. We went there while on vacation due to reviews and were not disappointed. The value for the experience is much better than what specialty steakhouses in upstate NY offer. The stake was awesome and the lobster tails were the best we ever had. (And we have dined in many high end restaurants.)
When I made the reservation I let them know it was our anniversary. When we arrived and where lead to or table the was a note of thanks from the manager thanking us for coming to Capital Grill to celebrate a special occasion. On the table there was red heart confetti. The night couldn’t have been better. The service - the food - and the appreciation for dining at there restaurant.
We arrived with a large party of 9 people. We were seated immediately and our waitstaff did an excellent job of managing all of our questions and orders. The Capital Grille is consistently good, no matter what state we dine in. Our Seafood tower was fresh and delicious. We ordered a whole array of dishes, all prepared beautifully. Our steaks were the exact temperatures that we ordered. Our waitstaff could not have been more attentive. I highly recommend the Capital Grille Ft. Lauderdale.
Where to begin, where to begin? Let me start by saying Capital Grille is our place to go. This was our first experience and our last for the Fort Lauderdale location. It took about 15 minutes for us to be greeted by our server. Upon our servers arrival we ordered our drinks, a Bohemian and Mojito, and our appetizer, the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella. Minutes went by as we started down our drink melting away at the service bar with our server no where in sight. We finally got our drink about another 10 minutes later just to get overly strong tasting drinks. Our appetizer arrived and it was so cold it tasted as if they completely forgot to cook it. We brought it to our servers attention and she immediately brought it back to the kitchen. 10 minutes later it came back to the table quite literally charcoal burnt! At this point we were completely over the idea of having our favorite appetizer. Our entree arrived and the presentation was decent food.... I can’t say the same. We both had the tenderloin medium rare with the poached lobster tail. I’m pretty sure my steak was still “moo-ing” on my plate. The steak was cold and purple on the inside as was my husbands. We showed the server and she agreed with our complaint. A manager came out and addressed our concerns and returned with our same steaks but this time our cooked and our lobsters rubbery. We were so hungry so sucked it up and ate it anyway. For a $145 meal we left hungry and disappointed. We frequent the Capital Grille in Jacksonville and never had an issue. I bring clients on a regular basis to Capital Grille for business meeting but after this experience I think I need to reconsider. With Ana stage of $600 - $1000 per month in their establishments I think that money should go somewhere better spent. Terrible, terrible location! Seasons 52 is next door... go there!!
We had delicious food and great service. The porchini mushroom soup was excellent. We always ask if they have pumpernickel bread (our favorite!) The salmon was cooked perfectly. Melissa our server was very attentive and kept all our drinks full. Worth a trip
Not our usual fabulous meal. We both ordered the NY strip (bone in) at lunch. Mine was tough from the start. My husband insisted we switch. His was not much better. The mashed potatoes and tuna tartare appetizer we great. We should have sent the steaks back but didn’t want to be difficult. In hind sight we should!
We were seated in what appeared to be a meeting room. About 7 tables in tight area. Noisy. Especially since nearest table had boy & girl about 5 & 7. Nicole was very nice, but seemed to be in a hurry. Manager came by to hang my table mates napkin on vacant chair without speaking or noticing 2 empty water glasses. My bone in ribeye ordered medium rare came out medium. Outside was charred. A little tough. Did not care for the uncharged rub & balsamic. Not a great steak. Fleming's was far superior. My friend had filet & lobster tail which was excellent.
Overall not one of Capital Grills best efforts.
Without a doubt, this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at aCapital Grille restaurant and I have dined at them all over the country.
We were seated immediately upon arriving at the restaurant, and that was the last positive thing we experienced. We waited for a server to approach the table, we waited for a cocktail and wine menu, we waited for drinks after we ordered them, waited longer to order food, and continued to wait for our server who disappeared for 20 minutes at a time. We arrived exactly at 8:00, and did not leave until after 11. 2 of our meals were fine, 2 were not. A filet was dry, and my bone in ribeye was just a disappointing piece of meat. The baked potato was hard. I finally received the glass of wine I had ordered as I was taking my last bite of steak.
Apologies were offered, but it was too late. Almost 400.00 for a terrible experience.
Never again to this establishment.
