One word: Amazing
As a lover of Capital Grille restaurants in various locations, this one did not meet all their usual high standards. The Caesar salad was mediocre at best...definitely not Caesar dressing, more like oil and vinegar, and the white anchovies , which we usually love, tasted so fishy and were inedible. While two orders of NY strip steaks were tasty, they were definitely not the same size. They were the same price, but one was much larger and thicker than the other. We asked the waiter to see why, but we never got an answer. Otherwise, service was attentive. Also, be very careful of the wine list as it is extremely easy to think the price of wine on the ipad is for a bottle, when it is by the glass. We thought the bottle was $32 and were shocked when the bill came for $128. Waiters should definitely verify price with patron when ordering. There are many wonderful steak houses to choose from. Had this been our first time at Capital Grille, which is not an inexpensive restaurant, we probably would not return.
Analisa and Jose are excellent bartenders
A great member of the Capital Grille family, this Ft. Lauderdale location always satisfies. Seafood appetizers are excellent quality, the steaks are prime beef, sides are very tasty and the desserts are both delicious and bound to make you leave absolutely full. Our waiter on this visit, Ricardo, was very friendly and professional; whatever we wanted, he made it happen. Will return.
One if my favorite steak houses.
My husbands birthday. Never have I received such excellent service as we did yesterday.
One of the best date nights my wife and I have experienced. Our server, Nancy was attentive, informative, and probably the highlight of our evening. I probably overdid it with an appetizer of calamari, and finishing my wife's prosciutto mozzarella, but hey, we got to take our leftovers home, so no biggie. Best thing that came to my table was a Manhattan 46! Best cocktail I've had in a while. Can't wait till my next visit. Seat me in Nancy's section.
Excellent. Food and service can’t be beat.
As usual, the entire experience at the Ft Lauderdale Capital Grille was outstanding. Our server, Michael was amazing for our entire meal. This location is our “go-to” for special occasions or taking friends from out of town
I expected The capital Grille in Fort Lauderdale to be the same caliber as the one in Miami. What a disappointment! To start with they seated us at the worst table in the house (right next to the kitchen) even though I had told him it was a special occasion. Our waiter was acceptable but not outstanding and the food was so-so. My husband’s steak was tasteless and leathery, the soup was not hot, and service was slow. The place had the ambience of a Long Horn Strakhouse, in a strip mall, not a high-priced elegant restaurant. For what we paid it is definitely not worth the value.
Everything was great, only complaint is I had to send my steak back twice to get ordered temperature
Great steakhouse that respects
reservations, has great food and service and goes out of their way when they know it's your birthday.
Ordered extra rare ribeye with porcini rub and aged balsamic. The steak was served absolutely raw and cold inside. Not cool...cold. This could not have been a surprise in the kitchen, as it was sliced there and was quite obviously raw inside. Our server removed it for further cooking, and returned with what was clearly a different steak. Steak #2 was properly cooked and was also sliced in the kitchen. Of the 10 slices, 2 were marginally edible. The others contained of levels of fat and gristle that rendered this piece of meat absolutely unfit for consumption. Photo attached. At this point our server summoned a woman who appeared to be the floor manager, if that’s the correct terminology. In an unprofessional and dismissive manner she told me that ribeye steaks were fatty and insisted that I order another cut. I responded that I was quite familiar with ribeyes, and I showed her a photo on my phone (attached) that I took of a sliced ribeye I had the previous week at Louie Bossi in Boca. Extra rare, perfectly cooked, no excess fat. She then stated that Capital grill could cook a ribeye one of two ways: cold center or medium rare. Rather odd, as I’ve been eating extra rare ribeyes all over the US for many years without a single problem. Not wishing to argue further with her, I deferred to medium rare. Steak #3 arrived: A nice cut of beef, medium rare, normal fat level, but zero balsamic. Seasoned completely differently than the first two. No balsamic. Surface salt levels beyond belief, and I like a lot of salt. In order to consume this steak, as I had no desire to try yet another attempt at having the kitchen get the original order right, I had to scrape the top and bottom of each slice to remove the seasoning.
The floor manager, who could certainly benefit from a serious adjustment in attitude, needs professional re-training or needs to seek a new line of work. She was kind enough to comp our wine, however. In stark contrast, our server was fantastic.
Great food, great service, great time.
Normally celebrate special occasions here but they came up short this time. Although it was Valentine’s Day, my concern was my Anniversary. Made note when making the reservation but nothing. Normally on point, missed this time.
Excellent food in a classy decor, would repeat again
Of course it was not as quiet as I would like because it was Valentine's Day and packed. I think the food is just a little bit pricey.
Went for Valentines & they did not disappoint us- great experience!
Both of us had filets & they were 👌🏻 perfect.
Side order if green beans with tomatoes left a little to be desired, but they immediately replaced them.
Excellent service, great food! Will be back!
The Capital Grille was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner there. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch.
The service and ambiance were excellent. We went there while on vacation due to reviews and were not disappointed. The value for the experience is much better than what specialty steakhouses in upstate NY offer. The stake was awesome and the lobster tails were the best we ever had. (And we have dined in many high end restaurants.)
Repeatedly, a wonderful experience. Excellent food, service, and setting. Will be returning.
Excellent all the way around , never disappoints .
It was as usual very nice
When I made the reservation I let them know it was our anniversary. When we arrived and where lead to or table the was a note of thanks from the manager thanking us for coming to Capital Grill to celebrate a special occasion. On the table there was red heart confetti. The night couldn’t have been better. The service - the food - and the appreciation for dining at there restaurant.
Our server Chris is always great! Very attentive and pays attention to the details.
We arrived with a large party of 9 people. We were seated immediately and our waitstaff did an excellent job of managing all of our questions and orders. The Capital Grille is consistently good, no matter what state we dine in. Our Seafood tower was fresh and delicious. We ordered a whole array of dishes, all prepared beautifully. Our steaks were the exact temperatures that we ordered. Our waitstaff could not have been more attentive. I highly recommend the Capital Grille Ft. Lauderdale.
Our waiter Robert Grimes was very attentive to taking our order, refilling our beverages and special orders.
The food at Capital Grill is always delicious. This time we had salmon and crab meat salad.
We will return soon.
Excellent service and very good food. Beautiful decor. Requested a quiet table and was seated in a room with only three tables. Beautiful evening.
Best lamb chops ever!!!!
We were seated promptly. The service was excellent and prompt. The food was delicious from soup, entree, and dessert. My only criticism was that drinks and entrees seemed over priced. All and all, the experience was enjoyable.
