The Capital Grille - Fort Worth Ratings and Reviews
Capital Grille has become our number one place for special occasions. The ambiance is dim lighting with rich, deep wood paneled rooms and classy, softly lit portraits and art. For special occasions, your table is personalized with a birthday or anniversary card, a rose, table decorations, etc. to create a sense of the occasion you're celebrating. The service is unsurpassed. From the moment you arrive for a special occasion, everyone from the hostess podium to the full service staff knows it's your "big day" and greets you (often by name). The food service staff are experts and take dining to the level of a science. Our service person was Justine who not only recommends wines and food combinations (off menu) to satisfy your every wish, but adds to the fun of the occasion with her personality. The food is incredible. In years of dining here, we're never had a meal that even remotely approached "average". Menu selections lean towards meats and seafood with a chicken selection. To me, Capital Grille is the place for steak (and I added a lobster tail because I love lobster done right). Plan to spend a little, though. Done right, we usually spend about $200+ not including the tip (and please...tip well - these professionals deserve it!).
Everything was fantastic. I had made a reservation via Opentable, and we were seated quickly after they had cleared everything away. The staff were energetic and welcoming, and truly made the evening a special occasion. October was our server, and provided an informative/detailed list of items for my date and I to choose from. She was extremely attentive and pleasant to interact with, and made very professional attempts to upsell. The ambiance was upscale and pleasant, and the food was simply amazing; everything from presentation to taste was fantastic. I have worked in the food industry for many years, acting as a server, bartender, and even a manager, and I have to say that was incredibly impressed and pleased with my visit to this establishment. Please send my kind regards and compliments to the staff, as everyone from the hostess, to our sever October, and even the manager, were very welcoming.
Bar service was exceptional. From there it went downhill. Though tuna was of good quality, it was more blanched than seared and presentation was sad. We changed tables due to cold air blowing on our table from window and ceiling vent. Then we were forgotten and ignored until we had to ask for manager. It wasn’t even that busy due to frigid temps on NYE.
Wife’s steak too rare. Sent back and was returned. Probably should have sent back again because it was now tough. However, rest of table was not eating and waiting. Decided to eat. Waitress was good but infrequent. We have eaten at CG several times in past and has always been great. Hoping this time was an exception.
We eat here several times a year and typically enjoy ourselves. The service is usually top-notch. Not this time. We were seated in a small back room, it was loud and not very intimate, we had long waits for wine/beverage refills and food, one order was wrong. It just wasn’t great. We’re certainly not royalty but when you’re spending $400-$600 on a meal you expect better quality and a higher level of service. And, like I said, it’s usually great. We’ll probably continue to eat here on occasion but a repeat of this kind of experience will push us to explore other options.
As usual the food and the service was outstanding! October served us and she was wonderful! The bone-in filets were cooked perfectly. Their crab cakes are some of the best I’ve had - and I’ve spent a lot of time in south Louisiana. The lump crab meat appetizer is my favorite. It’s always very fresh.
This is always our go to
place for a special dinner. This time was my birthday and as always was superb! Greeted with Happy Birthday card & confetti. Had to die for apps.. calamari with peppers & crispy prosciutto wrapped mozzarella with balsamic and heirloom tomatoes. Our table had Lobster bisque, French onion, wedge salad. I had tenderloin with poached lobster. Just exquisite and perfectly cooked. Others had different steal options and were all pleased. At end had happy birthday (done in chocolate on plate) with mini dark chocolate mouse cake and berry covered cheesecake. Server was very attentive and manager always comes by to check in you. Just LOVE this place❤️❤️
Certainly not the stellar service we usually receive! There seemed to be a lack of communication between us and our waiter. My husband ordered off of the gluten free menu and had to return items three times because they came out with bread products. Also ordered Tito’s on the rocks with a lemon and a lime and on all three occasions drink came out not dressed correctly. We always dine at the capital grille- so this was a major disappointment!
We had a party of 15 for our leadership Christmas party. None of us had ever been before and we wanted a very nice restaurant. We were not disappointed. Everyone had a good time. The only thing we would change was our seating. The table was so long we couldn't all visit.
I’ve been to capital grille many times. We were entertaining out of town guest last night. We waited so long I finally had to go complain. They never asked us if we wanted appetizers... and told us the special before they took our drink order. Glasses were always empty and the waiter was not attentive at all. It was embarrassing that I bragged so much about this restaurant to our guest and it was SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Steak was great but some of the sides were cold. I can’t believe such service from one of my favorite restaurants. 💔
