We have been to this Capital Grille many times but recently the entire experience has been off. We like to sit in a booth at the bar (and made a reservation for such) but they were unable to accomodate our request even though it was a quiet Thursday night.
I ordered the special, which was a bone in filet and a lobster tail. Although I ordered it medium rare, the filet was dry and tasteless. I did not send it back because my lobster tail and wedge salad were both delicious and our waiter never came by to notice that I didn't eat any of my steak. However, I was shocked when the bill was presented and my ENTREE was $99. I did not ask the price when I ordered; I assumed it would be somewhere in the $50-$60 range. I think the waiter should have mentioned that the "special" was $100.
We did not complain; we just won't be back. Service was slow - we asked for a refill of our bread but our waiter forgot to bring it. My husband asked for a margarita made with just silver tequila, lime and triple sec but the bartender made with their stock simple syrup margarita mix.
There are many great steakhouses in Atlanta. Capital Grille is not one of them.
It difficult to be a successful chain restaurant. Capital Grille surprises you with good service and food. Not a trendy restaurant, but you can't fail here.
Disappointed in the signature drink. Stoli Doli was horrible. Food was excellent and service was not as great as it normally is. Dunwoody location. Food, drinks and service has always been excellent at West Paces Ferry location! Truly let down!
The Capital Grille- Dunwoody is generally my go to location when I’m in the mood for steak...before this past experience, I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad dinning experience until now. The food and service has always been great and consistent...that all changed on 10/15/2020. We arrived on time for the reservation, was sat outside as requested then waited and waited some more for at least 15 minutes before our server arrived to ask if we wanted water. Now interestingly, there was a manager standing at the table behind us chatting with the table, saw us get seated, saw us waiting and failed to say or do anything...next the food...so disappointing...I would rate it as an experience on par with Chili’s or Longhorn steakhouse ...my husband ordered the lobster Mac and Cheese and literally had 1 small piece of lobster in the dish...oh and the service never got better...it took forever to get the bread basket, drinks, food, extra bread, etc...I was so hurt by the entire experience...definitely will not return. I love Capital Grille and I’m willing to try another location, but I’m done with The Dunwoody location.
We were treated like royalty while celebrating our daughter's 10th birthday. Capital Grille remains our go to place for special occasions.
Awesome! One of our favorite restaurants! Lovely evening to sit outdoors as well.
It was our anniversary & it was great.
The outdoor patio was wonderful, especially during covid. However, all the empty tables were still dirty. The staff was cheery and did immediately offer to clear a table for us. But it appeared unkept and not properly picked up for the dinner hour. Our waiter was absolutely excellent. Cheerful, attentive and offered many suggestions. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. It was underwhelming to say the least. The corn salsa was old and dried out. That ruined the dish from the start. The crab cake was cold and the sauce was warm. Opposite of what should have been. Freshness is an absolute must with seafood, especially at this price range.
We then waited for one hour and ten minutes before our steak came out. The Porcini rubbed bone in filet was a good choice and very flavorful. And it was perfectly cooked. The sautéed spinach was overcooked and cold.
The most disappointing part of the whole experience was when the manager came by and asked about our evening and we told him the hour plus wait for our steak was extremely disappointing. We praised our waiter, because if it were not for him we would have walked out.
The managers reply as he walked away was he would send our praise to the chief!!! Unbelievable!!! To add insult to injury three staff members were all cleaning up the patio tables as we sat eating our steak after an hour plus wait. Nothing like being rushed after waiting that long for your meal. The staff cleaning and talking to one another as though we were not even there.
We have had previous great experiences at this restaurant but some time ago. This experience felt as though the quality has been diminished and they are just going through the motions. For the price point this experience was absolutely unacceptable.
Maybe it was because it was the 1st time I'd been there NOT using an expense account. It was just me and my date and we and we racked up a $300_+ check. Totally not above spending that much money but when i do i expect tremendous service and out standing food.
We sat at the bar because typically that's where we've found the best service. In this instance just not the case. Our drinks and water glasses were empty at least 3 times with us having to flag down the bartender. There were 3 maybe 4 couples at the bar with 2 bartenders, so not packed. We asked for bread with our dinner at least 3 times and NEVER go it. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.
Waitress was exceptional. Made us feel welcome and made our birthday celebration special.
They acknowledged my anniversary with table decor, a note and dessert. It was a very nice gesture
Evan provided impeccable, five star service and made it a memorable experience.
Everything was great!
Very good as always!
Very good food and service
Service is always impeccable and the food is very good! We were there with friends on a Sunday evening.
bad food. I had a clam chowder that tasted like what you get out of a can. Very bad. Not a good deal for the price.
Service and food were wonderful. They really did a great job making my husband feel special on his birthday
The lobster bisque was not mixed table side and the Caesar salad was measly. Steak was below average. I won’t return for lunch until Covid is over.
The entire experience was incredible! Evan was one of the best servers we have ever had. Food was delicious and worth every penny! Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and ribeye. Went for about anniversary and they had heart sequins on the table along with a card. Ya the end they gave us a keep sale photo and a dessert.
Food was delicious and we felt very safe at all times. Staff was conscientious about wearing masks and sanitizing.
This is the second time in the past few months that the steaks have been over cooked and had to be sent back. This is a bit frustrating Considering the rest of your party is eating and you’re waiting at 50+ dollars a steak.
I enjoyed the option of outside dining, the weather was perfect, the drinks were great, and the food was amazing. This was my first time here and I will definitely return alone and with friends!!!!!
Rude staff, rushed experience. The Buckhead location is my usual go to. This was my first time at this location and likely my last.
Wait staff was slow.
Blue cheese dressing was bottled not fresh made
Steak was no better than choice
Excellent experience, food, and service!
It’s a beautiful location. Calm & very mellow atmosphere and really relaxing. The Fried lobster tail was one of the dishes that were anticipated, most and it was very salty. We had to have it sent back. But everything else was good and the drinks were good too.
Excellent service. Excellent food. Great night out.
Asheena was awesome!!!!
The service and food is always top notch!! Just go and enjoy yourself.
Food was great. Service was even better
Capital Grille is consistently great. We dined indoors and I was very comfortable because all Covid precautionary measures were followed, there was plenty of room between guests and the service and food were amazing! You can’t beat the steaks and the mushrooms are fabulous! The wine list is extensive and has something for everyone. It felt like the good old pre-pandemic days! I needed that!
If you want incredible food, fabulous service in a lovely environment this is your place. Prices might be higher than some places but well worth it!
Our server this visit was Phillip. Attentive, friendly, professional. Went out of his way to make our dining experience perfect!
Great people! Great place!
Dre was an excellent, attentive server and the food was outstanding as usual.
Excellent as always!
The food and service was excellent k Mc
The Generous Pour wines were great and our server (Dre) took fantastic care of us all night. We had an outstanding meal and overall splendid dining experience.
I have done the generous pour a few times and wanted to share the experience with other wine loves. They enjoyed it as much as I did..
