The Capital Grille - Denver Ratings and Reviews
Have been to Capital Grille numerous times and this place is always spot on with their food and service! They are more consistent than many of the other big steak houses around town.
Friends and family always love the ambiance and location on Larimer Street. They will always be one of our go to restaurants for special occasions.
We haven’t eaten here in a while (since the executive chef Larry left) and we were just a bit disappointed. I have to say the service was great! Charles was our waiter & he was wonderful. But salads were ok. We Had a warm shrimp app that was very good. Steaks were just ok. Bone in ribeye didn’t have a lot of flavor nor did the other steak. The burger was good. Grouper fish special was good but not wonderful. Desserts were ok. Berries & cream yummy as always but the coconut cream pie was soooo disappointing as it was whip cream on crust. Nothing like it used to be. 4 of us had a bill of over $400 with no liquor because our wine was coming from our friends wine locker.?!?? Crazy expensive for 4 salads, 1 app, 4 entrees & 2 bottled of pelligrino. With all the new restaurants in Denver I wouldn’t come back. STK had much better food.
I decided to go here for my birthday and it was the best birthday experience I have ever had and a restaurant. They had birthday decorations and a card on the table before we got there, and the people are what made my night so great. Everyone was very good at what they do. I was impressed by this place, and will be back again soon.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner while celebrating her birthday. The restaurant staff was very attentive and the overall service was very good. The "birthday" table setting, personal card, and special dessert added to the occasion. We were seated in a room that offered a little more intimate setting for our meal. We certainly recommend the Capital Grille for dining.
Wonderful ambiance, but the food wasn't what we expected. Two of the diners ordered filet medallions and lobster - the medallions were nothing like filet and the lobster was over cooked. The 3rd diner ordered a bone in filet, medium well and the steak arrive rare-medium rare. No where close to the temperature that was ordered. Service was excellent. For the price, I doubt I will return.
My porterhouse steak was not quite done medium. It was a very thick cut of steak and still rare on the inner portion. My girlfriend had the scallops and they were very delicious. Overall still one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The coconut cream pie was one of the best desserts I have ever had, and I highly recommend it.
Absolutely outstanding lamb chops!
Superb aged New York Strip served with peppercorns.
My wife and I could not have asked for a nicer dinner after an afternoon at the theater.
And they may serve the best Old Fashion in Denver.
Really extensive menu with lots of choices between meat and seafood.
Lovely birthday dinner in Denver while on vacation. We got last minute reservations during our one night stay in Denver after a week in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was very nice- we were seated in the private room and they make it special for your birthday. Seafood apps (WA state oysters) were amazing and steaks were cooked perfectly. Service was great.
A perfect setting for a business lunch where you actually need to be able to talk to someone undisturbed. The service was perfect and unobtrusive. I had the mini tenderloin sandwiches. So yummy! It was like having a wonderful baby steak on a bun. Usually, I just go here for dinner before the theater, but I will definitely be back for important business lunches, too.
