The Capital Grille - Dallas - Uptown Ratings and Reviews
I must start off by saying that the service was excellent! I was just disappointed in the food. Started with the wedge salad which uses good bacon, but I was not crazy about the blue cheese dressing. Had the porcini rubbed Bone in ribeye with aged balsamic. I thought it was too sweet, probably would have been happier if I went with the regular bone in ribeye. Had the lobster mac and cheese and potatoes au gratin. Mac and cheese was good, but I thought the potatoes could have been cooked a little longer to make them a little more crunchy. I had a great bottle of Honig Cabernet which I thought it was a great value at $63. I will go again, but I will definitely go with a more traditional steak.
From the valet to our waiter, the staff treated us like royalty! The food was awesome as always. We were celebrating Valentine’s Day, so the restaurant decorated the table with red hearts and a single long stemmed rose...super special. At the end of our meal they brought us chocolate dipped strawberries - perfect! These are the reasons this is my favorite restaurant!!!
We were celebrating Valentine's Day, and we went with the waiter's recommendation to try the Porcini Rub but on the bone-in filet instead of the rib eye. It was amazing and perfectly paired with the Au Gratin Potatoes. If you go, you MUST try the Coconut Creme Pie. It's one of the best desserts that I've ever had.
The food and service were great at Capital Grille in Dallas (near downtown).
The food was hot, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The waiter was great. The staff is very professional, friendly and polite.
We were in town for a basketball game, and made a dinner reservation. We got to the restaurant about 30 minutes early. The hostess was able to seat us early.
Great atmosphere and experience. I plan to eat again at this restaurant when I am in Dallas.
A special event and the staff went out of their way to make it a great evening for our family. Steaks were exceptional as always, pooched lobster tails served with the filet were a little disappointing, too much fluid and the texture of the lobster was lost in the cooking process. Had several sides, the Lobster Mac and Cheese was more cheese than lobster.
Very crowded. Although chilly outside, noone takes your coat - so you have to cramp them on the seat with you. Not very stylish.
Waiter was knowledgeable, but somehow not very sincere.
Food was nice - but could be improved. (Why do I rub a steak to drown it in sauce afterwards?).
Waiter did start clearing the table while one peron (of four) was still eating.
All in all just an "ok" experience.
This is my favorite Capital Grill - better than Houston (which is great), New York, Chicago and Vegas. Service is always outstanding as is the food. Simply a great high dollar restaurant. Worth the money. The bone in filet and swordfish are simply the best. A fine evening of culinary dining!!
The food, service, and atmosphere were all very good, though the asparagus tips were burnt which was disappointing, and the mashed potatoes seemed very thin. My steak was cooked perfectly, MR, and was delish, as was my wife’s swordfish.
This was New Year’s Eve. Everything was very good, but not ‘wow’ and on NYE, at a restaurant like the Capital Grill, you really hope to be wowed.
