Very nice evening. Great service all around. Food was very good. Didn’t love the creamed corn, but beet/goat cheese salad was so good. Small steak and lobsters was delicious. Salmon was excellent. Couldn’t ask for better service. We will return.

We had dinner here last night for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was wonderful! The service was outstanding and food was as well! We started with cocktails and they were able to my favorite drink, a blood and sand. Rarely does a bar have the ingredients so I was very excited and impressed! The lobster bisque was amazing and my steak was cooked perfectly. The brought out complimentary desert of chocolate and cheese cakes for us on a happy anniversary plate as well. It it a bit pricy but worth it. Overall great experience and we’ll definitely be back.

We can ALWAYS count on a delightful, delicious experience at Capital Grill. My family enjoys meeting there for our family gatherings... one brother drives over 2 hours to teach it and the other brother drives 1.5 hours to get there. And they agree it's worth the drive in L.A. traffic. Audrey is so, so good.

Took my family here for a birthday dinner and it was fabulous! Service was superb! Food was outstanding. We started with the grand plateau, ordered a variety of steaks, lamb and sides: mashed potatoes, asparagus, sautéed spinach.

We’ve loved Capital Grille for many many years. Their quality REALLY dipped down during COVID, and in so happy to say that it’s back. That said, it was just under $400 for 2 of us last night. That’s more than double what it was just a few years ago, and just far too expensive to do more than once a year now. The food is amazing, but…

This was our second visit to The Capital Grille, Costa Mesa in just over a week and it was just as amazing and delicious as the first. We were celebrating birthdays and the entire restaurant staff makes it a very special event for all. The wine we ordered was outstanding, the bread and butter to start was a special treat, the appetizers were all terrific and our main courses and side dishes were delightful with leftovers to take home. The surprise birthday desserts were a special added treat. Our server Tiffany was very attentive and responsive, as were all of the serving staff. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable evening! The Capital Grille has definitely taken a place in our lineup of memorable and delicious restaurants.

The food here is dependably delicious and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Usually the service is impeccable, but this time was painfully slow. Even after we let the waiter know we had a bit of a time constraint (going in and hour and a half didn't seem like a constraint!) one of our party had to leave without desert. :-( It took far too long to get drinks and even get our food order in. So while it was still enjoyable, the pacing was not acceptable. And it wasn't just us, the other parties around us were obviously impatient too.

We dine at The Capital Grille often both in SoCal and in Las Vegas and always have a fantastic experience, however last night wasn’t up to the usual standard. I think they may have forgotten about our mains as there was an extremely long wait (about 50 mins) from when we finished our apps til our server came out and apologized for the wait, then told us our veal chop we ordered was the last one and the kitchen over cooked it so we needed to choose something else (we did consider cancelling our mains at this point as we were exhausted, but chose something else anyway). Usually in this scenario, you’d be comped for the issue, but this wasn’t the case here. All in all, the food quality was great, but this experience left us feeling we won’t be rushing back anytime soon. If you’re going, get the lobster & crab cake and bone in ribeye with the Kona crust/shallot butter and the South African lobster tail is also divine!

My husband took me here for my birthday. It was our second time here as we came here once before for our anniversary. I loved it then and loved it this time. It has an old school upscale vibe and they don’t miss a beat anywhere. We had bottle service …rose waiting at the table to accompany my flowers from my husband. From the decadent fresh bread (yes, I’m even commenting on the bread as some places it’s just an afterthought…not here) to the impeccable lobster bisque, to die for lobster and crab cake with avocado crème fresh, Cesar salad (delish dressing)…all must haves. For entrees I had the filet with butter poached lobster (you get two filets and two tails). Delicious in every way. My husband got the double cut lamp chops with a lobster tail add-on. WOW!!!! The complimentary cheesecake for my bday dessert and one for my husband since he surprised me saying he got promoted…both full-size; not the normal small size. Amazing!!! Not to mention our drinks and our sides…lobster Mac and cheese and bacon Brussel sprouts…all divine. The service too…outstanding. Thank you, Giselle for attending to our every need. Also a nice touch for the manager to greet us upon arrival. My husband and I felt like a king and queen. We will be back for the next special occasion. Loved it in every way!!!

My 2 friends and I celebrated our birthdays at the Capital Grille on Sept.1st. We do this every year during the Generous Pour Event. Our server, Autumn, last night was not as attentive as the other servers we've had. She did not describe the wines as she's pouring them. I only did the Pinot Noir and the Palermo cab. My friends did the full line of the wine flight. Autumn was so slow in pouring the wines that we sat for minutes on end before she started the reds for my friends. I had to ask her on several occasions to Pour me another glass of the Pinot Noir since it's the only wine I am having plus the cab from the flights offered. My friends told her that their favorite was the Chardonnay. She never offered them an extra Pour of the Chardonnay towards the end of the experience. I got 3 pours of the Pinot Noir and cab combined since she was not around much to check on us. Luckily, the food is phenomenal as always, the company is outstanding, which made up for the mediocre service.

We had a delightful and delicious dinner at The Capital Grille in Costa Mesa! We added the summer wine tasting “The Generous Pour” to our dinners and truly enjoyed the experience as well. We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary and it felt like a celebration! Our starters, salad, entrees and sides were amazing and portions generous. Our server Autumn was outstanding in every way as was the entire serving team. We will definitely be making return visits to The Capital Grille! Thank you to all!

Another year, another birthday celebration at Capital Grill. Seated just about on time, we found the food and service to outstanding and fabulous. We also participated in the Generous Pour for wines, that were showcasing wines from David Phinney of Orin Swift fame, and Nicole Hitchcock from J Vineyards. We found some fabulous selections from the two and several complemented our meal, Starters: Excellent Shrimp cocktail that were huge and generous as was the Crab Cocktail. Dinner: My wife had the two filets with matching butter poached lobster tails, and I had the grilled Veal Chop Tomahawk set on a fabulous bed of mushrooms sauteed in sage butter sauce with a splash of Marasala. A formidable dish, and really delicious and savory from start to finish. Special dessert: birthday celebration platter of creme brulee with berry compote, and extremely chocolaty flourless cake with a double espresso. A fabulous meal and experience overall....the main reson we keep coming back here to celebrate special occasions and events like the Generous Pour. Service was excellent, on point with out being intrusive. Giselle and Ismael were excellent servers. And thank you CG for the speical amuse buche of cured salmon on a cucumber slice with capers, lemon, a wonderful touch. DELISH!
