Fabulous from start to finish
Excellent food and service. We enjoyed the experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The service is top notch and the handcrafted cocktails were very tasty. The food was solid, in line with top steakhouses.
I had lunch there in the bar & the meal was great. I had the porcini mushroom bisque which was reminiscent of The Ritz restaurant’s mushroom soup! For an entire I had the shrimp and mushroom risotto, which was yummy with large shrimp, one friend had the salmon, which was moist & flavorful & my other friend had the filet. I don’t eat meat, so I didn’t taste it, but there wasn’t anything left to bring home for my dogs. Great place to catch up with friends & they offer validation for valet parking
Went for Saturday Lunch. Seated promptly with little or no wait. Great Server (Christina) who was helpful and attentive but not too intrusive. Great selection of Lunch Plate Specials which are a great value at $20 each but regular menu also reflects a nice selection of salads, seafood, beef and poultry for a lunch menu. Ambiance is very nice, semi-upscale. Been here many times and keep coming back. Consistently good.
Was my first experience at Capital Grille and I was very impressed. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and when we arrived at the table there was confetti scattered on the table along with a handwritten card from the staff which I thought was an awesome touch. Our waiter Eugene was very attentive, knowledgeable and took the time to answer our many questions. From the appetizers to dessert everything was amazing. The chef’s really put their soul into their cooking. We very much look forward to going back.
Service was below par. Not the usual. The salmon was exceptional. Manager stopped by to apologize but fell short to follow up or keep an eye on poor service.
Excellent value overall
Our waiter was very attentive offering lots of suggestions and advice.
The entire experience was spectacular! Our server Patrick Murphy was excellent and did everything to make our experience 5 Star!
The service was excellent and but my husbands Ahi meal was sent back and the replacement was no better. Which was not seared properly. We enjoy dining at the Capital Grille in Scottsdale location and he has ordered the same dish which is excellent there. A bit of a disappointment, but my Salmon dish was very good and we enjoyed the Porcini Mushroom bisque.
As always it’s the best
I took my wife to Capital Grill for Friday date night. It looked like a great steakhouse for our romantic evening (with high prices to boot). On arriving, we were seated right next to a very loud kitchen, and then moved next to the window after expressing displeasure. Our waiter tempted us with the bone in porcini rib eye, which we ordered medium rare. I ordered mine "medium-rare-plus," wanting to make sure it was just right. He stated “having told me that you have nothing to worry about!” Our steaks were brought to us by someone different than our waiter, and instinct tempted me to ask if we got the right ones. I was assured there was nothing to worry about. I bit into my steak and LOVED it! It was amazing – I told my wife “this cuts just like butter!” Her answer: “mine doesn’t!" STOP: her steak was cooked medium-well. How in the world did they get that wrong? The waiter conceded the steaks were mistakenly switched. I returned what I didn't gobble up to my wife, and the “medium-well” steak was quickly replaced with another. My replacement steak, although cooked right, was NOT a rib eye! It was more of a tough lean New York strip with NO marbling at all. I could only eat around the edges. Our waiter was clearly embarrassed. To make matters worse, this other guy who was dressed like a manager comes out and says (like a total amateur): “So we were able to get you a new steak, I hope you have a nice evening,” and walks away. No apology? Who starts a conversation with “so”? Am I now in the Twilight Zone? The waiter was shocked that we actually ordered dessert: The flourless chocolate cake looked good on the menu, but came looking like a piece of overcooked meat on a plate (with a drop of whip cream on the side), with no syrup-like drizzle or dressings to make it look like a dessert. And, it tasted like it was served out of a box. In fairness, they did comp the steak and the dessert. Needless to say, we won’t be going back anytime soon.
Never disappointed...always fabulous! Food and ambiance get an A+.
Capital Grille is always the best when it comes to the food, ambience, and just a great place to meet.
My husband and I were seeing a musical at The Segerstrom and wanted a place close by to have dinner before the show. I chose the Capital Grille because of the menu and its close proximity to the theater. My husband and I were thrilled with everything. The restaurant was elegant, the wine divine, and the food was exceptional. Our server was so helpful with helping us with our selections...the lobster bisque is the best we have ever had. My husband's swordfish, topped with crab was delicious, and my salmon was cooked to perfection. It was perfect for a romantic evening.
The Capital Grille never has disappointed me! The service is always excellent. I recommend the macaroni and cheese with lobster along with filet mignon .
40 th Birthday celebration with young children
Coloring book with crayons was great for grandkids. Thank you
My favorite LA restaurant. Highly recommend. Cannot say enough how great it is. Ivy was an outstanding server.
Great restaurant -- love both the bar area and the main restaurant area.
This was first time I go there with my family. It was my husband’s birthday. We went on Jan 1st. I was disappointed from the service - the waitress wasn’t friendly!! She was rushing us — and sickest!! I felt like ideas in elementary school!
I won’t recommend it..
great staff and service with delicious food. hand written birthday card and birthday dessert. always a great place to go
Service was excellent. Food as usual was wonderful.
Our overall experience at Capital Grille was great, with excellent service from Jarvis and
We had a great time celebrating the New Year with cousins. Our server David, was great. Very congenial, knowledgeable and very helpful. The entire wait staff did a great job! Will definitely return for more!
We have been to Capital Grill several times and we love it. The food is pricey but the quality is well worth the paying a little extra. New Years Eve we meet some friends for dinner. I made the reservations well in advance and when a hostess called two days before to confirm I mentioned we would like a quiet or quieter table because one of our group was hard of hearing. Unfortunately we were place between 3 tables of large families which included very loud children, children who were getting up from their table and running around grabbing balloons. We were disappointed with the atmosphere this time around. $500 dinner, great food, server and drinks. Sadly we felt like we were inside a Red Robbin with all of the kids.
Excellent service. My “rack of lamb was “OK” but not great. Overall-enjoyable experience
Took my wife for her Birthday before John Legends Concert last Saturday 12/29. Service was excellent by our waiter Tommy. Very patient with our group of 10. However, the food was much to be desired. Very disappointed with the Onion Soup, salty. Nothing like the one from France. It was recommended by my friend, but was just awfully Salty. 🥺. Lobster Mac n Cheese was alright, nothing to rave about as well the Clalmari.😕. We ordered the Wagyu steak as well as the Tomahawk Steak. Not up to par from the other fine restaurants we've been too in OC. Although the service was excellent, I wouldn't come back here again.....It did not live up to the 4.5 stars rating. My guest from the West LA was not impressed with food eithe.... Thought I would impress them.😏
The food was once again amazing. Our server Andre was over the top. He was professional but we also joked and interacted during dinner. A+
Expensive but delicious
My wife and I love going to lunch or dinner at Capital Grill in Costa Mesa. Always an excellent experience.
Our server was Scott Carpenter. The customer service is SUPERB. Scott recommended some great choices for our entrees as well as some superb French and California wines. Overall the service was SUPERB, the food was well cooked to perfection. We truly enjoyed the dining experience. Thank you!
As usual the whole experience was fabulous. Service and food were perfect. Thank you for another memorable birthday.
This was a change to our traditional Christmas Eve dinner (which was Mastro’s). I have to say that Capital Grill May become our new tradition. Even though it was Christmas Eve, the food was served perfectly cooked. Staff was great; very attentive to not just our table but all tables. Staff very responsive to our requests (waiter Bryan was the best). Atmosphere was cheery. Two Thumbs up
Always great, but this time it was not top notch :( we did not get any sides til halfway through with mains and every steak temp was not what was ordered - the wine was superb and they have a nice vegetarian tofu main course option. Will return but a tad disappointed this time around
Outstanding experience from the moment you enter. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable staff. Great wine list, menu items were exceptional. Celebrated a birthday here, total class act!
Thank you Sam for your wonderful service. We really enjoyed our dining experience. See you soon!
