We have our company Christmas lunch here. We had a very relaxed and enjoyable meal. The service was excellent watching for and anticipating our needs. The food was incredible, prepared as ordered the first time. The environment was relaxed and quiet which is so hard to find these days. I highly recommend Capital Grill for your special dining events.

Serious props to the Capital Grille - Lombard. Had an absolutely fabulous celebration meal there Thursday evening. I had heard that it was a very good steakhouse, but nothing prepared me for the quality of the service and the food. The experience started with Brad at the bar. He was very open to my particular specs for my Old Fashioned. Impressed that he knew rye whiskey is proper for the drink - not many tenders know the drink well yet. On to the meal, the waiter, Chad, was well beyond exemplary. Once he found out we were celebrating, the game was certainly on. First, came the champagne - "on him." That was very nice; however, it did not stop there. No less than 3 more times, Chad treated us. First, with taste of the Porcini Bisque - to be on the December menu. Then, with the entrees, an utterly delicious Brussel sprouts preparation. Finally, a tasty little dessert sampler of a flour-free chocolate cake, a cheese cake with creme brulee accents and fresh non-GMO berries. Magesterial !!! We tried 2 of their 3 signature crusts on our steaks - the Kona rub and the Porcini crust with 12 year Balsamic. Many times these steak treatments dominate the steak and are over the top. These 2 absolutely raise an already high quality steak to another level. The sides were decadent. We had signature sides: Au gratin potatoes and the Lobster Mac n Cheese. Plenty to share and even take some home to share with those unable to attend. This is absolutely a steak house with foodie sensibilities - a cross between a classic American steakhouse and a French Gastronomique. Quite honestly, the best meal I have had in more than a decade - since I was treated to dinner at a Michelin rated resto just outside of Toulouse. On the way out, I had to make a pit stop, I asked for a cup of water to go. Expecting just a plastic to-go cup, I come out of the restroom to find a 20-oz bottle of Fiji water on the bar and a smiling Chad saying "on the house."
Our second Thanksgiving meal at this establishment. Food was good. We ordered lobster. Requested of my waiter that my lobster be broiled and placed back in the shell. I
could not finish my dinner . Had to take over half my lobster home. To my surprise, when I prepared to eat the lobster at home, found full vein in the lobster. Needless to say, I was not too happy. I would think that for such an expensive dish, the lobster would have been deveined. A suggestion to the kitchen would be to be careful in preparation. Everything else at our table was prepared to perfection. Can’t say I would have lobster here again.
Thanksgiving was perfect at The Capital Grille. Despite the fact that the restaurant was filled to capacity, the service was impeccable as always and the food was stellar. I commend the staff in Lombard for providing the exemplary service that guests naturally expect here. Great job and a wonderful time. Bravo!!!
We ate here for Thanksgiving dinner, November 23, 2017. Food was good albeit pricey, but I expected that. I had the turkey special and my wife had the salmon—great food! Two issues. The first issue—I started with a “crock” of French Onion soup. It was good, but the Capital Grille must have a different definition of what constitutes a crock. In my mind, it was a cup, not a crock—something I expected to be a bit bigger than a cup and earthenware not a white ceramic cup. When considering the prices at the Capital Grille I should have been served a crock, what I paid for, not a cup. Second issue—the bill was presented to me missing the dessert we had. I provided a credit card and the return bill for me to sign included our dessert. No big deal, but the wait person should have acknowledged the error in the original bill rather ignoring it thinking I wouldn’t notice when signing the final bill, which was correct.
This place is the go to for a special celebration. We have been coming here for Thanksgiving for quite some time and appreciate the fact that one does not have to deal with a buffet. One can order from the menu or choose the turkey plate option. It makes the experience a friendly one for those in the group who do not eat turkey. Their dessert choices are exceptional!

Always have the fantastic steaks this time I had the fish it was out of this world! My server was absolutely fantastic!!!
The lobster mac & cheese is always out of this world unfortunately I did not order at this time

This was not my first time at The Capital Grille. This time it wasn’t only the people I️ dined with that made it an amazing experience but it was the food, the service, and the additional things done to make the celebration memorable that set this visit far above the others. Special thanks to Amanda McKenna you’re awesome.
Sue was our server and she was outstanding. Food was amazing and our to go bag even had a thank you note from the chef. The servers even gave you their business card with the check. Very attentive, addressed me by my name as the reservation was made on open table. Highly recommended.
