Our waiter was AMAZING!!!! Made the meal that much better, food was awesome, another great dinner at Capita Grill
Delicious food, excellent service, lovely ambiance. Great birthday lunch indeed :)
Great food and great service. Constant attention to our table by all the wait staff.
We went during Restaurant Week. The restaurant was packed, but the service wasn’t compromised. Food was delicious.
It was great. The only thing I had to return was the creamed spinach.
We had a great server. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The steak was a bit more done for a medium rare. It was more medium well. Otherwise everything was great.
There for the first time. Only had appetizers and they were excellent, beef sliders meat was out of this world tender and the soup was wonderful as well!
Come every year for wife's birthday. The experience this year for the price paid was not what it has been in the past. Tough shrimp in the shrimp cocktail and a cocktail sauce that was not good, scallop special that was just ok, a 10 ounce steak that looked like it was 6 ounces, while waitress was fine it took forever for main course to arrive
We ate in the wine room which was quieter than the rest of the restaurant. Server was attentive & personable but not intrusive.everything was great.
the food was good, but the service was shockingly poor relative to past visits. The dishes stacked on the table and were not cleared- we had a bottle of wine and the waiter did not refill anyone's glass and it took forever to be served. I used to go here 5-6 times/ year, but probably won't be back.
It was VERY dark where we were first sat and then we had to move because of it and it was still way to dark. My party and I had to use our phones for more light. The food was horrible ( I got sick when I got home) and we had to take back 2 meals and the second time it was still wrong and we decided not to wait to ask for them to fix it again.
Meats are very decent but not prime. Eating at the bar is a treat. Nice very comfortable spot which we return to frequently.
Only downside, was sat next to a child that was whining or crying the whole time we were eating.
We were there for a birthday and it must of been an off night because the service and food was horrible
Food was fabulous. Ribeye steak on the
bone with porcini rub hit the spot.
There were a few silly mistakes that I wouldn’t expect for a restaurant like this. However, the wait staff and manager were more than amazing and totally made up for it! I would give this spot five stars overall because of the wait staffs’ hard work alone, but the noise level really killed the overall experience. It was difficult to have a conversation with people that were sitting right across the table. Boston and Burlington are a much better overall experience, but again I can’t say enough about the staff. They were great!
We have been her many times. The food is excellent, the staff is very accommodating, and the restaurant is very comfortable.
We were so pleased with our 10th anniversary meal at the capital grille. From the card and well wishes from the staff to the complimentary champagne and dessert, it was an amazing celebration. Thank you so much!
You can never wrong with capital grille. The give solid trustworthy advice on wine, food or anything. The are consummate professionals and provide a level of service I use as the standard I measure every other restaurant with. The wife and I go multiple times a year and I wouldn’t change it for any other steakhouse in Boston.
Fabulist birthday celebration for 19 yo son!
Capital Grille is very convenient to our home. The food is very tasty, the service is excellent and accommodating. The noise level is better on one side of the DR than the other but generally very loud; not cozy, not recommended for quiet conversation. It can be a nice/special "pick me up" on short notice or a special occasion with more planning.
My party enjoyed salmon, shrimp, wine and dessert. All was excellent though we were seated next to a table who were very enjoying their lunch very loudly.
Cap Grille is the BEST lunch value, atmosphere, and food in the greater Boston area!! Their burger cannot be beat, nor can their luncheon meals that include an entree, and a cup of soup or a salad, for $20!!
We have eaten at this restaurant three times over the past 4 months, and last night was our last. We had a magical evening the first time my wife and I went there -- great food, great service, as we celebrated our anniversary. They really went all out -- rose petals on the table, complimentary desert, etc. The atmosphere was really nice, and we had a wonderful evening!
Hooked, we went again a month later, this time with our kids to celebrate my wife's birthday. On this occasion, they overcooked our steaks. They made good on this mistake by cooking me another one to take home (my kids didn't care, and enjoyed their overcooked steaks, basically rolling with it rather than complaining...they were hungry and that's what kids do.).
So fast forward to last night, when my wife and I went again, this time for a belated Valentine's dinner date. Unfortunately, although many of the same positives were present as from our first visit (i.e. rose petals on the table, and giving my wife a long stem rose at the end of the evening, etc.), the food was just not up to snuff. I ordered a bone-in filet mignon, and it was brought to our table lukewarm. Now, prior to ordering, we had joked with our waitress about visit #2, and how the steaks were overcooked, and nonetheless "here we are again!" at Capital Grille because we had such a good experience at our first visit. So I didn't want to complain, and frankly, I don't know whose fault it was (we noticed that it took a long time for our food to come out of the kitchen after ordering. Was it just sitting there? It sure tasted that way). That filet, which I barely ate because of this, cost $66. Our meal was over $200 after the tip. It just wasn't worth it! If I'm dropping that kind of money, I at least want the food prepared properly. So I give up. The hunt to find a really good steakhouse in metro west continues!
Aaron our bartender was great!! We will definitely go back!
Food and service were great as always.
Food was as great as always as was Joseph’s service. However, we eat at this Capital Grille a lot and didn’t appreciate our request for a booth being ignored. A table would have been fine in the main restaurant, but we were stuck in a small back function room area cramped at a tiny portable table that made the evening less than perfect and especially on Valentines Day. Now that I know that they blatantly disregard Open Table requests I’ll go to one of the many other steak houses to choose from around the city. That honor them. Too bad as we always liked this restaurant.
Greeted warmly by 3 ladies upon entrance. Terrific service with Aaron. Lots of energy with a smile. Had oysters and salads (kale and beet) to start followed by halibut and steak, with two sides, Brussels and au gratin potatoes (they are the best). Food was delicious. But we made the mistake of ordering way too much. No problem, we took it home. Only disappointment was the chocolate molten cake (but we ate it anyway). Place was packed, on Valentines Day, but we still had space and privacy. Also, manager came by to visit and was nice enough to bring us a bone for our dog!
Always a good choice, top shelf
Our meal was perfect! The ambiance was also great...our waiter Joseph was attentive and professional...and the steak was perfectly cooked...a great evening for sure
Awesome place and experience. Worth it
This was one of the best dinning experiences I’ve ever had. My boyfriend and I came to celebrate an early valentines day and immediately when we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess Channing. She could not have been more welcoming and inviting . She even went out of her way to set flowers on the table for our special occasion which made it a truly special evening. Their employees have a high attention to detail. I’d highly recommend dinning here for their amazing service and thoughtfulness of their customers.
Great food, great time.
Very good staff. Food was great but could have been warmer. I had the tenderloin and butter poached lobster ... my lobster was not warm and there was no hint of butter. My date had the porcini crusted ribeye which tasted great. I wish I had ordered what he ordered.
We have enjoyed the dining experience at the Chestnut Hill location for years. Renato Santos was our server and has been several times in the past. He is friendly, attentive, professional and by far our favorite server. We hope to visit TGC Chestnut Hill and Renato again in the near future!
Always a pleasure to dine at the Capital Grille in Chestnut Hill. Service is great. I had one of the signature dishes: dry-aged crusted NY strip. Well cooked, tasy and delicious. For the first time we were seated next to the bar and it was really loud. It's recommended to stay in the main dining room to really enjoy the tabel conversation.
Excellent food and service. The steaks were cooked exactly as requested. They were all tender and delicious.
Our server was very attentive and pleasant.
Hey! Another great meal at the capital grille..five star food with five star service...gm Jeff always making sure his guests are happy..
Closest thing to a country club in chestnut hill!!
Meal was great but service was uncharacteristically poor.
