Any is excellent. Friendly staff. Delicious food.
When I made the reservations I wrote that we were celebrating a birthday. In the past there would be a "happy birthday" plate with a sample of desserts. It did not arrive. But, the table next to us had glitter on the table and waiter chatted saying congratulations to them. A disappointed ending.
Steak was overcooked and very overpriced. Not very tasty.
From the check in to the check out. It was great!!! Our waiter Chee took great care of us and we will definitely be back to enjoy another meal. Thx again
Celebrating my nephew’s 21st birthday! Great food and service! They did a wonderful touch of bringing out a birthday dessert and celebratory drinks at the end of our meal! Will definitely go back soon!
A medium and medium well steak were each delivered to the wrong person. Had to exchange plate half way through. Plates need to be marked accordingly I. The kitchen when there are varying doneness at a table
Great as always!
Took 5 tries for my tuna to come out correctly; four of you don’t count them sending piece number 2 as piece number 3 and trying to make it seem like it wasn’t the same. Later they admitted the chef made them send it out again; pretty unbelievable. Must be a new chef or kitchen staff as we’ve eaten at this location for the past 9 years and never had this happen.
We come to the restaurant a few times a year and this visit was for our 7th years anniversary. We got calamari, Kona Crusted Dry Age (medium rare), bone-in Ribeye (medium rare), soy Glassed Brussels sprout. The calamari gone soft really fast, the Kona Crusted was tough and the Brussels Sprout was over cooked (all black) and too sweet. We are hoping the not so great experience is due to the holiday weekend.
The food was delicious and extraordinary you flavorful. Kona coffee ribeye and porcini balsamic ribeye!! Both out of this world!!
We had a wonderful Sunday evening family dinner with my son and husband. The waiter was super attentive and we both enjoyed our dinner. My son had perfectly cooked filet and I had the halibut.
The food was excellent. The service was wonderful!
The restaurant was very loud tonight. We started at the bar and wanted to stay there for dinner but decided not to, because how loud people were. Then ended up in a small table for two with the AC blasting behind me with two very large parties around us. Not great.
Another wonderful dinner with great service! Great spot to celebrate and catch up with friends and family.
Brought my friend from Delaware. She was impressed. Our waiter Bad was great. As always a great dining experience.
We had the sliced steak with mushrooms. Fabulous!! Creamed spinach and potatoes also great.
They never disappoint! Great food and excellent service. Miranda is the absolute best!!
Enjoyed our meal. Great steak. Attentive service.
I have been coming to Capital for about 12 years!! ALWAYS during Restaurant Week, but also when I am able to, for my annual birthday celebration dinner. I have ALWAYS found the QUALITY of the food and the UTMOST top!!! ALSO, the wait staff is TOP NOTCH. I have MOSTLY been served by Denise over my years but have had others when she was not there, or I had to be seated in another section. I did see her there yesterday, and tapped her on the shoulder as I passed by. She remembered me as usual, and asked where i was siting. She told me she would stop by to greet my guests if she could, but as it turns out, time did NOT permit as it was VERY busy in the dining room, but she DID spot me when I was leaving and ran over briefly to greet my guests. Yesterday, I had Matthew, and he did NOT let the tradition down of high quality/friendly service! I brought in 4 brand new diners with me, and after being greeted by Denise after a truly wonderful dinner, they too understood my personal love for CG!!! I cant wait for my next opportunity to visit!!!
We requested air conditioner turn little but the waiter ignored us.
For our appetizer, the clam chowder was among the best we have eaten, and that's a high compliment in the Boston area. The aged strip steak was tasty, and cooked just as requested, medium rare. It had obviously been brought to room temperature before searing, and then, I am guessing, finished in the oven. This was evidenced by the red medium rare meat extending close to both edges of the steak. Service was friendly, and while a little slow, we saw it was very busy, and we didn't mind.
Great food and service - couldn't have asked better!
Will return next Boston Dine Out event.
Love the steak, cooked just right. Clam chowder great taste, creme brulee delicious
Dine in Boston
Took advantage of restaurant week menu with friends and had an outstanding meal. $38. Menu - my friend had Clam chowder
( I had mixed greens) , filet 8oz ( Two of us did $10. Upgrade and ordered Sliced filet mignon - 10oz, mushrooms chipolle onion and wine reduction sauce which was amazing.Sam’s mashed potatoes and green beans were our shared sides. $15. Upgrade and got veal chop which was phenomenal! Deserts included flourless chocolate cake, cheesecake or creme brûlée. Excellent service with great wine and drink menu and we had a superb dining experience. Will be back.
Our waiter Joseph was great. Wonderful anniversary dessert too. We always enjoy the generous poor! We will be back again in 2 wks.
Our service was excellent. Food was ok. Dine out Boston is a good deal but the food isn't as good as it might be other times.
The worst experience at a Capital Grill we have ever had. We were there for lunch, party of 6 for my sisters birthday. All salads soggy. Chowder too salty. Dried out roast chicken. Four of us ordered burgers medium or medium rare, all were cooked well-done. Even the Aperol spritz's were sent back-all Aperol, little prosecco and no orange slices. We would have sent everything back but did not have time. I am a fan of this chain but will never go back to this particular restaurant.
This visit was only our third time eating out since covid started. The other two were nothing to write home about. The Capital Grille as usual put its best foot forward. The meal, service and ambience was great. It gave me more hope that someday this covid will end and we can return to many more great diners and evenings out at the grille!
I came for the Restaurant Week / Boston Dine Out lunch special which is $25 for a starter, entree, and dessert. Amazing deal! Went at 3:30 and the wait time for food was fairly short. Fyi the flourless chocolate espresso cake is basically like fudge which isn’t what I was expecting so we didn’t eat it. Service was good!!
We had a wonderful dinner with outstanding service. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and the complementary champagne and dessert added to the lovely evening.
Extremely enjoyable evening, food, service, atmosphere all fantastic!
It was busier then usual but still wonderful.
I think it’s time they make potatoes chips again and bad them individually for those of us who love them.
Amazing food amazing service and we went for a restaurant week…nice lunch date with my daughter
I love Capital Grill and go often. This was a lunch I took a friend for her birthday. Unfortunately it was the first time I did not have good service. He was inattentive and slow. Very disappointing.
The waitress is rude. I order the Dry aged NY Strip with medium rare. Come up with too dry. Calm chowder is too salty. Seard Citrus Glazed Salmon also dry. Filet Mignon and the Double cut lamb rib chop is ok. The salad and dessert is fine. We seat next to the kitchen when our waitress dump the empty wine bottle into the back. The sound is loud.
Our server was fantastic in accommodating gluten-free allergey. Great service and food
Schylar was our server and was AMAZING! Always made sure we were taken care of. Food was OUTSTANDING as well. Would DEFINITELY go back!
Restaurant Week so a great deal, but my steak was not cooked as I ordered it. When the steak was brought back, it was charred to black on some areas and they had added butter despite the request for no butter. I ate the charred, buttered steak instead of sending it back a second time. I did not want my husband to be eating alone or have his food get cold waiting for me. Other food was good. Waitstaff were nice and were trying to manage a full restaurant. Second time at this location. I do think the Boylston Street location is more attentive to detail with better overall management of a busy service.
Capital Grille never disappoints. The food, service and ambiance is outstanding.
